My husband just recently left on his first deployment. I received a call from that number on the land line and ignored it, but moments later, while reading these comments, the number called my cell phone. I answered, and sure enough, it was my husband. Thanks for the info, or I would have missed his call!

I think you are right. My hubby is deployed and I have these calls on my phone. I think it maybe some kind of calling card.

Bummed I missed it. I know more than like, 15 active duty military people stationed pretty much everywhere, so I guess it was the Maryland switchboard. Anyway, I tried to call back. Oh well, these things are handled by experts, it'll be alright. :)

This was a legit call from a military member in Germany - he actually left a voice mail which is why I know it's a legitimate number.

This is suspicious to me if it is military...Called and said he was calling from somewhere in Germany and wanted some kind of cross symbol embroidered on bed linens and how fast to get it done and how much and something about it being for fire fighters. Guy spoke quick and I had no idea why he would call me for something like that. Very very strange!

It is from a military member or contractor on a foreign base. In my case, the call came from Kabul, Afghanistan today. Hope that is helpful to you all.

This is a number that the Military can use to call the US from overseas. Maybe you know someone in the Military that is serving in a foreign country.
