I just got it too. It's a scam. Call the police and report that number. When you call, they ask you to enter your credit card #. So they are trying to get credit card numbers.

I've just received a text from 9099 message: customer issue, California credit union service frozen. please call at 248 547 3189. If you call from a home line it the operator says that the person whom I'm calling has a “Do not disturb message”. I'm a sprint customer also and I’ve been getting similar emails. Sprint should do something about this or they will start loosing there customers.

Sprint promised that they disabled the text message capability several times now. I initially requested this and they confirmed my request about 6 months ago. Every text sent since then has been fradulent. Each time I call Sprint thet tell me the same thing... "Ok so we have disabled the text capability now" Within a week another fradulent text arrives and so on. Sprint appears to have lost all control of the service they are billing us for. Just got another fradulent text today. It is taking an inordinate amount of my time to attempt to get this corrected. I can no longer either count on them or believe what they tell me... Bummer

That number belongs to me. My phone account was hacked. Then they sent a bazillion text messages to all you guys after setting up a call forwarding to another number in Phoenix--which phished for credit card numbers. It's been reported to the Fraud Dept of my phone company and I have changed my account settings and password, so ti shouldn't happen again
| It is just the phone # 2009-12-23 17:42:50 Unknown |
Hey All, the reason phones with specific carriers get hit is because in each geographic area each phone carrier (landline and cell phone alike) is assigned a prefix. Phone numbers are formated Area code + prefix + suffix and so all numbers in area code 111 with prefix 999 may actually belong to Sprint, or To some other carrier originally (barring any porting from one carrier to another) so the Scammers will use a computer program that sends texts to all numbers in area code 111 with prefix 999 and just cycle through the suffixes. For example, 111-999-1222, 111-999-1223, 111-999-1224, etc.....
| usertoo 2009-12-23 07:39:12 Unknown |
your "fake" card was probably someone's real card # somewhere in the country. now that person is going to have problems too... unless you entered like, all of one number, like 0000 1111 2222.
please folks, don't imput a fake number. you're inevitably going to be messing with some random person's real number.
if you are a sprint user (as am i), please contact sprint to complain. maybe it doesn't have anything to do with them, but clearly they got ahold of some sprint list, and if they can track down the numbers spammed, they may be able to track what idiot employee sold them (or stole them).
report report report!

Just got the number as well. Obvious scam, as I have gotten a couple of these types of text messages over the past few weeks. Googled the number to see if there was any info on it and found this place.
I am also a Sprint customer in Glendale. Obviously, Sprint is selling our numbers to 3rd parties. I hate that.
Maybe I will try Verizon when my contact is up...
