Somebody called me on this number & keeps leaving me wierd messages, won't stop and I don't know who it is!!!!!!!

Wow this is getting annoying this number calls me twice a day, for about 4 days now, at almost the exact same time. I've gotten my phone taken away twice in school because of this number

They have only called me once so far but reading the rest of the posts i think i can expect more calls in the future

got a call from this number today around 2:00PM EST.
never before have i been called by this number, so i made my way over to my computer to look it up and got this site.
ill report more as i find out what's going on with this.

PLEASE READ !!! With some checking  I traced this to a college in Malaysia ! What you have is a Scam Being pulled off by a college student! A nice little hack if i do say myself easy to do with a little computer knowledge ! Obviously hacked a database and gained personal info ! A POLICE matter not an annoyance!!

Calling that number from a landline right now. It asks for a code you received from your answering machine message. If you did not receive a message, enter your cell phone number. When you don't, it asks you to call Verizon Wireless at an 800 number.

Ok.  This is obviously Verizon.  I really don't think its a scam.  They called me 6 times yesterday and they only call when my bill is past due.

If you've never been a Verizon customer, perhaps the person who had the phone number previously went past due on their bill and they're trying to get in contact with them.  

Second, if you have Verizon but haven't gone past due on your bill, they're probably trying to get in contact you and offer upcoming promotions.

Third, if you have gone past due on your bill (like me), they're just calling for their money.

SO, this is Verizon, just a different department that normal reps might not be familiar with.

keep getting calls as well.  called my cell and my home number.  left a message on my home phone saying there is a change with my account.  glad I looked up the number and found out others having problems

Looked up # info throughout various websites. Traced to a CELL PHONE # in OAKLAND County, SOUTHFIELD, MI., near I-695 & Hwy 10. If they continue to call you, call the MI State Police in Oak Park, MI.,( 4-5 miles away)to complain for harrassment.

they arent buggin me.. im just gonna pay my bill than they will stop. i suggest evryone else could do the same?.. ah yea

I have just started receiving this call - this is the third time and I decided to google it and here I am! I am not in the habit of answering calls on my cell that I do not recognize so I haven't answered the calls and after reading all this, I am glad that I haven't!

They call me everyday, and it's my girl Mari who helps with that stuff, so I don't get why the company keeps calling me, and they should at least tell me by leaving a message, and they should also actually call us at convenient times, they keep calling me at 1 in the morning!!!!

So what's the deal with the number? I get terrible cell reception at work, but just tried to answer the call - we have friends in from out of state and I'm not familiar w/ their number...thought maybe it was them - anyway, when I answered, no one was there. Figured it was the lousy reception at work... What happens if you answer the call?

Said they get a lot of complaints! GO FIGURE !!!! Then i said, GO F#$@!%CK YOURSELF AND HUNG UP !!!!! Then i called back five more times and said, HOW DO YOU F@#!$%@ING LIKE IT !!!!!And hung up !!!! HA HA !!!!!!

They called on my home phone tonight, as well...automated message about changes to my Verizon account and to press one, etc. I hung up on it. I hope it is some scam - and not something I really need to look into.

I called Verizon Wireless' customer service number listed on their website to verify these calls. It is a legitimate call center located in Southfield. When accounts are more than 1 month behind, they use this method rather than the text message method. The center does not ask for any personal info (such as SS #). While it does ask for you to make a payment at that time, you don't have to and can put that you will make a payment within 7 days. They then give you the actual amount owed.

This is legitimate and NOT a scam.

NOT A VERIZON AFFILIATED COMPANY--DEFINITELY A SCAM.  please report this number to verizon and law enforcement. they will take payments and personal information.  ALSO WILL CALL FROM  800 249 2462.  please do not call, pay or speak to anyone in these numbers.  immediately call verizon with your information.  verizon will never send your bills to collections until the account is deliquent (your service has been shut off for an extended period of time and ACTUAL mail is sent to your home address).

to beckie...the "amount" that this number asked for was NOT the correct amount.  verizon did NOT recognize this number.  and they have NO SUCH message retrieval system

i keep getting a call from this number and they keep leaving messages and i called my verizon branch the first time and they told me it was a scam and the calls continue to come in. I got a call from them at 8:30 this morning which ticked me off since i was still in bed. They called a few days ago at seven. my husband answered one day and went through the commands and hit the right button to say its NOT who it is asking for and they keep calling.

I keep getting this call and i don't answer out of state calls, but i decided to answer it and i got a buzzing sound.

Verizon called my house and left a message about changes on my account and left a 1-800-249-2462 number to call back and a reference code. Also same day got a strange number on my cell and didnt answer it it was 248-915-3797 and left no message. Figured it was cause I was behind on a payment.

I do not want them using my minutes trying to sell their cell plan to me!!

Got the number every day once a day around the same time.

Finally got fed up and called Verizon today. They apologized and said it is NOT one of their numbers it's a scam and that they would block it for me.

They also stated if anyone else in my family that had this number calling them should call Verizon and ask to have it put on their block number list.

It was annoying to have this number keep calling me, but the people at the REAL Verizon were very helpful.

This number has called twice today so far and not left messages...it can't be verizon my bill is current and everytime its fallen behind they send me a text or something but not call. What's going on!!? This is crazy. I am blocking it.

It is a verizon message retrival. If you call back you get a message about why they are calling you.
I think it is a valid verizon call, because they dont ask you for any information, so I dont see what the scam could be? Unless you try to pay via the phone. Which I never do, I always pay online.

I owed on my bill- so it was a message telling me what my past due amount was and to press 1 to pay 2 to pay a different amount 3 if you already sent 4 if you are going to pay in the next 7 days.

Got this call. Seems like a scam, asked for important info. beware

there was no coment because i have a home phone but i don't recignize the number

they've called me twice so far today.  i didnt answer i just flipped open and immediately closed my phone next time if they call again im gonna let it ring and see if they leave a message.

I've been called 3 times by this number. I no longer live in Michigan nor am I the primary on our phone account with verizon. This is ridiculous.

i live in ohio. and i keep getting that phone call through school and i couldnt figure out who i knew in michigan. then i got that voicemail of something changing on my account.
then they say my moms name in the recording and my account is under her name.
i dont know what to think.
