I keep getting unwanted calla, please help me stop them

Similar experience to others here - an automated call back in Oct/2012 to do with lowering credit card rates. I'm on the do-not-call list. They wouldn't give me their phone number and just gave me 2 websites. Complained to the CRTC (see the 'File a complaint about a telemarketing call' link at http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/telemarketing.htm) and didn't expect anything, but actually got a response a couple of weeks ago and signed a complaint statement for them.

Hi, I too, should have known better.  I made the mistake of allowing them to charge me through their "billing service--Western GPS LLS" for $795 US  I called my cc co. afterwards and they reversed the charges but later on that month they received some "bogus" evidence from GPS and again gave them the funds.  The cc co. says they must pay if any evidence is given even though they have in their records that I had called them the day of the phone scam at which time they knew all that was going on was not legal.  You would think that they were aware of the facts and would not indeed go against their customer-me-and enable a scammer-Maple Accounting, aka Western GPS. Since August, I have been trying to get my funds back.  I have even gotten in contact with the Attn.Gen. of Arizona.  They are looking into it bur have also received false info from Maple and once again I had to explain my position as to why this is a scam.  I am hoping they will able to do something but am running out of options.  Any suggestions?  
I have to state that I am really disappointed in my visa cc co.  They assured me on the day of the first phone call that it was a scam, advised I get a new cc., but still gave them the money.  SHAME

I had a phone call from 250-453-2289 and several times from this company with different names on my phone , they got my information and they just  bothered me a lot .

So sorry they did this to you.  I believe many have been scammed.  Maybe we can all gather together and get something done as a group.

Re: Maple Accounting Co., AZ  I too have been scammed.  They represented they could reduce my int. rate and after consulting with my cc. co. I learned that only the cc. co. and/or the bank could do that.  But because they had a recording of my agreement in the purchasing a "membership package"deal, the cc. co. again reversed the payment and they got their money.
I never bought a package deal, I only agreed to an int. rate reduction request and they said they were acting as my agents on my behalf.  Since then the bank is not able to again reverse the payment and can not assist me.  The charge was put thru by a company called Western GPS LLC in AZ .  I never talked to anyone at Western and was only told this would be the name that would appear on my cc cd. for the charge.

I hope to get some help from the consumer fraud dept in AZ.  wish me luck

FRAUD---FRAUD----FRAUD---FALS COMPANY CALLED MAPLE ACCOUNTING MASTERCARD SERVICES.
My mom had a bad experience with those guys.  They said being mandated by MasterCard and they were abble to put her in trust mood.  It cost 690.06$ to my mother not giving your berth date even for ''verifying your information here in our file''.  Of course, they were abble to access at all information about the rate she was actually paying and the last transaction + total amount on creditcard.  Please, don't juged here.  My mom is an old lady, paying roughly 19.99% interest on MBNA credit card.  I helped her having back her money as well as her dignity.  Long story, but at the end, I helped her cancelling her MBNA credit card (they won't have her again in this account please!), calling Equifax and TransUnion holding a red flag on all request of credit under her name within the next 6 years (free services actually!), calling her police station reporting this fraud in making a police report.
One week and a half later, this experience is only a bad nightmare memory, but could have been worst.
They called themself:  Maple Accounting Master Card Services.  Phone number:  1-800-710-0833.  Even if you called back and begging them to cancelled the transaction, they will put you on hold, and then flush your call.  You will never be abble to reach someone again.  EXEPT if you do #67-then phone number 1-800--.  But even then, the lady's name Sara Carter is capable to say like a letmotiv:  someone from our accounting services will call you back''. No one will call back, IT IS NOT A REAL COMPANY.  THEY ARE LOCATED IN USA, 1955W, BASELINE ROAD, #13-446 MESA, ARIZONA ZIP:85202.

We sended a fax explaining the story at MBNA asap, asking them to avoid that transaction.  48 hours later, MBNA called back my mother with this:  We received your fax, and cancelled the transaction because this company does not exist at all.  We confirmed that your old card is canceled and you will receive a new one in few days.  Your rate is actually too high and we send a request reducing the rate of interest at 9.99%, and will receive and answer in October confirming the new rate.  We are sorry for all inconvenient...blablabla.

I received a call from 1-250-324-8131 today, July 10 where the lady I was speaking with was stating their company  was asked by Visa and Mastercard to call people with "Good Credit" to offer a lower rate of interest on existing credit cards. I spoke with the person by the name of "Veronica Gomez" with the Employee # 2992 at great length, and started to query why she wanted to know more about my other credit cards. I provided her with details of 1 card and I repeatedly said to her that this card is the only card I want to apply for the lower interest rate. I felt uncomfortable, and I immediately put down the phone. I called my bank at CIBC and I was informed they do not contract any outside source to solicit lower credit card rates. I was connected to the Fraud Department and explained my situation where they will now send me a new card.
Moral of the story - THIS COMPANY DOES NOT REPRESENT ANY FINANCIAL INSTITUTION AND SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Got a very similar calls from 250-324-8131 and 250-352-9679, from "Maple Accounting" (www.maple-accounting.ca), but they left some mistakes on their website that also mentioned "Lindquist Accounting" (see 877-510-5849), so I found this site.  Similar case - "Susan Parker" had a thick Indian accent, offering credit card interest rate reduction.

"Maple Accounting" is based at 1955 W Baseline Rd #113-446, Mesa AZ 85202 (800-710-0833) according to their website, but they reported on the phone they were based in Dallas, Tx "to be close to the credit card company head offices".

Fortunately, I don't trust any telephone solicitation, but just played along with them to see what kind of scam they are pulling.  They wouldn't give out their phone number, and insisted on calling back when I said I wanted more time to think about it.  I didn't give them any of my credit card information.

just got a call from 250-324-8131 about lowering my credit card rate, just banged the receiver in her ear.

I to the a***ole on the other side to f/o and not to call back again...so the fu2332er called me back 16 times from 1-510-343-3040.
I have logged  a complint with the CRTC (like that will go anywhere)....and will be calling the fraud squad and the do not call registry and logged a complaint with the too.

got the call. told them to remove me from the list. they called back 2 hours later and said they wanted to transfer me to a manager to get off the calling list. the manager came on the line and started cursing me into dust and threatening to kill me. he has know idea who he is f^^king with but I would love to show him.

I just got a call from this number - am on the do not call list - some "Lower your credit card blah blah.
- asked for the Company name and their phone number - some guy who barely speaks english - who told me the name of his company was LDA - their phone number is 1-80-699-62 and stopped short of the last 2 numbers - saying he would not give them to me.

I politely told him to take me off his call list - & to tell him that I am on the Do not call list & do not have a credit card ....

His response?

"Ma'am, I want to f*&k you - you sound delicious" - and hung up

Received call. It was a machine telling me they could reduce my credit card interest rate to 6.9%.
Did not say which card.
I hung up.

got a call today from 226 663-8231 and decided to ask to be put on their do not call list so pressed #1.  A male voice with a slight accent answered.  He sounded unintelligent to me but I told him that my number is a business line (which it is) and not a residential, and he answered "I don't care".  So I asked to speak to his manager and he said he had none.  I hung up on the moron and he called right back on the other number discussed here - 250 324-8131.  I answered without saying anything and the dummy said "hello".  I then hung up on him again.  So I have added both these numbers to my blocked call service and hope this works.

Told them off when they called, so next time they called using 226 663 8231. So I clicked through and when they answered I said to the idiot on the other end " Heather said on the message that if I pressed 1  then I could have a**l sex, so I asked them- is that to give or to get? Guess they didn't like that cause they swore and hung up!

Got this call again asking for info re credit card.

Keep getting this number saying it is from Microsoft and they need to access my computer...not! it is a fraud to obtain all info....looking into getting the phone to block numbers

Wish I had read some of the above posts about leaving the caller on hold.  That would have been fun!  The best thing you can do with this scum is waste their time.  Racks up their long-distance costs and prevents them from bothering other people.

You just made my day! lol I just got a call from this number a few minutes ago, the next time they phone I will follow your advice...FINALLY, a chance to use my emergency whistle!

They're generating "leads". This means if they get a live person answering the phone, they sell your phone number for 25 cents to another company. Even if you tell them to stop calling etc. They just want the 25 cents. There is no way to stop them. The CRTC has only once ever fined a telemarketing company (two years ago) and still has not received one penny of the fine they levied. And that was a company that was actually ripping people's credit cards and committing criminal fraud openly. With THIS company, really, you cannot stop these people, short of subscribing to a phone company that offers a telemarketer blocking service. But some calls will still get through.
What I have done in the past, is listen to their entire pitch, agree to everything, and then when they ask for the credit card number I tell them I have to go get it from the car. They hold while I walk away for half an hour or more. Sometimes they have waited the whole time. Then I just tell them "thanks I just wasted more of your time than you wasted of mine. And if you call again, I'll do the very same thing!" Don't know if that works, but I did get a very robust feeling of satisfaction from it.

I received today a call from 12503248131, they are prfessional guys when they talkin, i tried to call them, the number is not exist, they are a mafia.

Got a call from this number today at 4:20 pm. When I answered, a man with a Jamaican accent asked for me by full name. I said 'Speaking. Who is this?',  he then went on to say that he was from "Sweetlife Vacations". I told him I wasn't feeling well and trying to sleep. He slowly hung-up the phone.

Call came when we weren't at home. Number on display. No message left.  Figured it was a call centre.  If we'd been home when they called I wouldn't have picked up receiver.  I would like to do something to make the lives of these people a living hell.

Got the call a few minutes ago.  Did not answer as I now do for calls received from numbers I don't know.  Got numerous calls from them in the past.  Nothing else than a scam.  Phone companies are the ones who should do something about it.  They call from anywhere in the world and use any phone number thay created for themselves.
