Here is a solution to this problems.    Works for us.

There is NO stopping all the telemarketers out there. Here is what is going on.

1. There are phone bots, that all it does is call numbers looking for live phone numbers. If the number answers either with you picking up or your voice mail, then it logs that number and moves on to the next number.

2. With all these 'live numbers' they are then sold to the telemarketers who then with their automatic dialers, will then be calling you etc.

3. If you try to call the number that they are calling you from, then you get no where because they do not want to be bothered as we are with 100 of calls.
So you are either getting the telemarketers or the phone bots calling you.   Getting mad or calling to be taken off their phone list is a waste of time.

SO OUR SOLUTION, as we are in an office, is we answer the first time, and as soon as we know its a bot, or a telemarketer, we save the phone number in our phone as a Z meaning that it is a telemarketer, etc.

Then when the next call comes in it shows that it is a Z and  we just ignore it.

Right now, we have over 40 - Z phone numbers on our log, and we no longer get bothered but we are adding at least 2 a day to the Z list.

Give up ... find a way to just know that they will never stop but there is a way for you to know in advance that they are calling and to just ignore them.
Let us know if you try this and it works for you, it works like a bomb for us.

Getting calls from these clowns weekly. I let the machine answer it and they never leave a message, figures.

I too have repeated calls from this number,. and other similar number regarding
lowering interest rates, I have no credit cards, and the people call several times a day,
7 days a week.  It sets off my answering machine, with a lengthy repetitive message
that keeps saying the same thing over and over.  So I was home the other day and
thought I will pick up, so I can talk to someone to advise them to not call again or
I will report this as harrassing calls.  However good luck trying to get through to
a person to speak with, you just get cut off.
Very frustrating - is there anything that can be done to stop this?

I have told these irritating people to take my number off their robo-calls, but they call anyway.
Robocalling is not legal.  What should we do?

They are not from B.C.  They are from India forwarding the number so it looks like it's coming from B.C. They were using Calgary before but they must have been getting too much attention so they just shifted to B.C.

And the Do Not Call list doesn't apply to over seas call my friends. Only North American calls apply.  Just block the number through your phone company.

Just got a call from this number did not answer but came on here right away too see who it was (after I Googled the area code (I don't know anyone in BC). They did not leave a message and as others have said the number is obviously spoofed as it is out of service.
I have saved it in my phone directory as "Annoy this Caller" so next time they call (if they are using the same number) I will do just that. I have  friend who no matter who it is calling, he answers his phone in some stupid character voice and proceeds to talk to the person in this persona. He won't let them get a word in. He has been some poor little old lady who answers the phone in tears because her poor cat "fluffy" was just hit by a car (and when the caller starts to talk about the raon for the call "she" starts to cry harder and tell telemarkeetr how heartless they are and can't she talk about fluffy. Last one he sent me (he records them all was him playing the part of a gay southern black man who started hitting on the male telemarketer. These gguys can't wait to get off the phone with him.
May try something along those lines.
I tell the microsoft caller that my husband works for the Local Police in their Computer Forensics Crime department - they hang up straight away. lol

Let them talk then start the loud reverse obscene phone call routine on them.  Surprising how they can dish it back but if you presist the guards can come down when they get defensive.  The call I received was from an Oriental sounding voice that identified herself as calling out of USA - "ARIZONA.!"   Yeh, they get a Canadian number and play havoc up here.  Yankee GO Home.  Received too many of these calls and now fighting back.

I have had calls from this number and others that all say they will help me with my credit card debt or the other one about my Microsoft problems. I don't have any credit card debt or Microsoft problems but have found a really good way to piss them off. I keep them talking fo as long as possible, put them on hold while I go get my credit card out of the safe, wife's purse, under the matress, etc. etc. boot my computer, boy it's taking a long time to boot up, hang on I haven't started it for a while and it is working throught a load of auto updates, etc. etc. I can generally keep it up for about 30 mins. before I say something like "Funny you have noticed a problem with my credit card debt because I don't have any credit cards" or "Funny you have noticed a problem with my Windows operating system when I have used a Mac. computer for the last few years. Wasting there time always bugs them.

I've used both the whistle and screaming techniques but they keep on calling back. The whistle works OK (if my grand-kids haven't moved it) and the screaming part hurt my throat the one time I used it.  So ... I just ordered a small, portable "boat type" air horn and an electronic voice changer on eBay. I intend to have some fun with them using the voice changer, then when they least expect it, I'll blast them with the portable air horn! I think they'll probably put me on their "blacklist" - YAYYYY! - [PS:  I'll post again and let you know how it works out]

It is so simple ....  get a call display and an answering machine;   it's cheap...  I never  REPEAT NEVER answer calls I do not recognise ....
If it's important they can leave a message!
Do not call lists are useless

Iregistered my number back in 2008 on the do-not-call website and I checked today and it's still there till 2014 and I still got a call from this number. I find it best to not answer any long distance number not showing a name. It's worth paying for call display!

BTW: I didn't pick up when this number called.. I just wanted to know who it was.

Have been called dozens of times by these fraudsters.  The Do Not Call registry in Canada does help IF people make the complaints.  Canadians email RCMP's PhoneBusters to report scammers to: info@antifraudcentre.ca.  (They do work together, if enough complaints are made.)

These scammers are out-of-country, and using a computer to spoof the Call Display number and auto-dial calls.  These started when the 'shared services' company in the U.S. got hacked/employee leaked legitimate card holder data.  Likely has been sold to organized crime - who are the ones who keep calling.

Report 'em, and help the cops to shut 'e down!

i pushed 1 and it connected me with someone who would not tell me his name or business and he said i called him and that his phone number was '1'.

This company is continously calling me regardless that I am on the do not call list and numerous times that i have repeatedly asked to be taken off of their list. They continue to harass.

I'm on the NO CALL LIST - and recieved this credit card crap - I don't have a credit card and don't want one or need one!!

Am in Toronto and they called around 2:00 p.m. I do not answer these crap calls and no msg left.
