I got a call from David Peterson from the U.S, Treasury to call this number ASAP. I Googled it instead...glad I did. I was skeptical immediately. Why would the U.S. Treasury be calling me?

I received the same message on my answering machine. I don't know when but sometime this month (August 2013) We get so many telemarketers that we just let the machine field calls and ERASE.

He writes editorial peices for some bias newspaper.

I got the same phone call this morning from David Peterson, and almost fell for it, how dumb do I feel?  He wanted me to send a moneygram to Keisha Walters@Queens NY for $600.  He said he swore on his wife and 4 childrens lives he was telling me the truth.  Please don't fall for this scam!

Like the rest of you, this appears to be a scammer.

Caller reporting a phone scam in which the caller was the winner of $2.5 million and had to pay $850 to claim the prize. Caller ID indicated the call was from a Roberts, WI phone number(Magic Jack phone number and not believed to be where the call was coming from). Caller was told to call 1-253-214-5276 when the Western Union check was purchased.

Law Enforcement was notified about the scam phone call.

Caller left a message saying he was from the U.S. Treasury Office and to please call back as soon as possible.  Seemed suspicious so I looked it up on internet first.  Being taken to this site tells me it was a hoax so I'm definitely NOT going to call back.

I was called by 1-239-6734712 and told that I won $2.5 million dollars and to claim it I had to call 1-253-214-5276. Of course then I was told that I had to get a receipt from wester union for $256 to claim my $2.5 million check. I hung up and called the police but now I am wondering if I was charge for calling the number??? I have free long distance on my phone but still wondering. Will check with my carrier in the am.
