Hello,
I was googling someone called Ronald William Hippie and found your message. This guy said he lived in MN about three years ago. I wonder if he is the same guy you talked about who skipped out his debt. I would like to hear back from you. Thanks.
Happy Thanksgiving!

They were calling me daily, I played this into the phone and the calls stopped:

The disconnect tone makes the computers think your number has been disconnected and the computer drops your number out of the system.

The 253-218-3449 number is a computer generated number and if you try calling it back it says unable to complete this called as dialed please try your call again later. It wasn't until recently they have been identifying themselves as Allied Interstate. I just let it go to my machine and DO NOT answer it. Eventually they will stop or just change your phone but have it listed in the book as an alias such as Frank K Johnson. Phone companies charge for unlisted numbers but have to list it under any name that you choose. Good luck to them because they will have to check every name in the book to see if its really you. Hope this works.

Thanks for the person that said call 1-800-935-5152. I called and got an Ashley. She said she would take my number of the list. I get 2 or 3 calls a day.

Bill thanks for the 800 number I called them and asked them to take my number off their list. They gave me the name of the person they where looking for and I have never heard of them. I hope this works, I get 2-3 calls a day from them.

I tried this number in reply to the 253-218-3449 number and was also told they would take my number off the list. Bottom line 800-935-5152 is a valid reply number for this outfit.

I found out that this is Allied Interstate, a collection agency. They always call from 253-218-3449 but, the number that they leave on my voice mail cuts off. I took a wild guess and dialed 1-800-935-5152 and spoke with two really nice folks who identified themselves as Ken and Karell. They told me that my number will be put on do not call and it will take 48 hours to take effect. I am really glad because at least once per week, the 253--------- number would show up on my caller ID with no message from Dec. to Feb. I tried to trace and block it with no luck. I even tried calling it back with no luck. Just this week they started leaving a number to call. They were looking for someone other than me who apparently previously had the number that I have now. I have had the ne number since December, 2009.

I've been getting phone calls from this number since I got a new phone#. I do not owe any debt. In any case, if they are authentic debt collection agency, shouldn't they address me by my name in the message? They left a 800 number to call back but I'm not falling for that. God knows if it's a trick! If there's a class action against this caller I'd join in.

This number came up two days in a row on my CELL PHONE. The second time I saw it, I answered it and the voice said it was a debt collection company and to call an 800 number which I did not write down. I will not call it. I have had the same cell phone number for over 10 years. I don't owe anyone anything--especially money. Not only that, I do my best to remain as anonymous as possible. No facebook, myspace or anything of that nature. I wish I did not even need a phone.

We received a call from this number, with the ID "unknown name". A message was left to contact "Allied Interstate" at 1-800-935-5152. They ID'd themselves as a debt collection agency. As we have no outstanding debt, I called back. They were looking for someone with the same last name, but not me. When I told them they had the wrong person, I was told they would remove my number from their list. They probably just auto-call people with the last name of the person they are looking for, in the hopes that you are that person. Luckily, my last name isn't Smith...
If you're getting these calls, I would pick up and set the record straight, just to get them off your back.

PS
Register your number with www.DoNotCall.gov and it should block them. If they still go through you can report them to the government.

I received two phone calls from the same automated message. The first call was on 2/25/2010 from an Unknown number. The second was received on 2/26/2010 from 253-218-3449. The message is mumbled and quick and refers to what sounds like an 800 number. When I researched this number, it is shown in Washington with hundreds of similar complaints.

I keep getting calls from these people and they will not leave me alone. I have no debt outstanding and I continue to get these calls. I wish these people would F*** off because this is really getting annoying.

Same deal for us. Multiple calls from (253) 218-3449, recording to call an 800 number. We called, followed the advice from some of the previous posts, and told them they had the wrong number. Please note that this company is calling anyone that could have an online association with anyone they are trying to collect debts from. If you are on Facebook, LinkedIn, Plaxo, etc. and linked to someone with debt problems, you're a target!

Every day they call at least once. I answer to a recording that says the whole debt collector shpeel, then says you must call us back. No number left, I dial it straight back off my cell phone call list and its disconnected.

We've gotten calls from them weekly for awhile now. I found this thread and callled the 800 number listed above. Went straight to a live person. I told them they needed to take me off their call list. The guy asked if this was the number, and then said it was done.
We will see.

i do not know who this is that calls?
they babble something about collections - it would not be for me
the number cannot be called back

I have been missing their calls for a few days now and my voice mail only recorded the tail end of their recording that says something like "we are trying to collect a debt and any information we receive will be used for that purpose" but it didn't record a phone number.
I finally answered the phone one day when I happened to have paper ready and could write down their phone number (they say it so quick!).
I called and the man that answered didn't ask for any information but just asked if their was a person by the name of such-and-such at this number. When I told him I had never heard of that person, he said thanks and we'll remove your number from the list so that you don't receive these calls.
It took 15 seconds so I'm glad I did it. Now I don't have to get these calls and messages any more. :) They also didn't ask for any information like my name, social security number, etc... so I think it was legitimately someone trying to collect a debt from whoever had this number before me.
| WTF 2010-02-05 13:55:32 Telemarketer |
I received a call as well. I could not understand her as she sounded garbled and from India. I put my cell and landline on the do not call list and my address as well. If you have Verizon, you can block calls but also there is a new law which allows telemarketers to contact you via cell. I blocked mine through verizon but there is also a toll free number to call, which is automated. It takes up to 30 days and that law goes into effect about then. For Verizon, the number is 800.333.9956 and you can opt out all lines! This is BS. We have to go through all this for privacy but I will not have my cell ringing all the time.
