I received a phone call today saying there is a Criminal litigation filed against us when asked why did not I receive any letter in the mail from IRS then he just wanted to talk to my husband.

had a voice message the no displayed was 1-800-829-1040
message said it was a Sargent  Brown and that there were 2 legal cases against me
and to call 253-220-0720 immediately before they take action.

Some scammer called from this number claiming that he was from the Federal Crime Investigative Bureau and that he has arrest warrants for both my wife and I.  Threatened that if we did not talk to him, then the police will show up at the door.  

Got a message from this number.. Claimed to be calling from Home Land Security with federal complaints about my Name and Identity... and so on..

Similar story - moron left a vm stating that I have a federal case against me and that I need to call his hotline dept - 252 220 0720 or 253 220 0720 numbers right away.

Accent started Latin but towards the end sounded more from either India or Pakistan.

Tempted to call him back and offer to pay millions so that he can help clear this case but would be a waste of my time.  Jerks!

Got  a call today impersonating IRS and even left a name/no. I called this number back, they said it was the IRS crime services and transferred to this guy. He mentioned that there were 3 attorneys listening on this call and that there was an arrest warrant issued against me. He said I had 3 charges filed against me and I was bad trouble. When I told him I hadn't broken the law in anyway, he got a little hostile. At this point, I realized this didn't look legit, so told him I was going to call the police and talk to them. He immidiately hung up on me.
Reported to Treasury/FTC per IRS link....Hope they catch these scammers!

I have received 2 calls from this number threatening FBI is after me.  I am a senior and have not had any problem with law.  Should I notify FBI and the local police?  Will they help?

I got a similar threatening message from this number today saying they are investigating me for three tax charges. When I called back and said that couldn't be possible, the guy threatened with an arrest and hung up right away.

I see on this board that some people got similar messages from this number a couple of months ago. How are these people able to do this scam and use the same number for so long?

Received a VOICEMAIL/call from 1800 number with my first name and last name , which turned to be IRS phone number when I called back. The voice message said I have a legal case against it and I should all back this 253-22 number. When I realized its IRS number, I decided to call this 253 number - a male voice with Indian accent called sounded like a call center - I asked what this number is from - which department and he said it is department of criminal justice.
When I asked why they called me, he looked up my number and said there is a legal case he changed his voice to a strange US accent said that he is officer Pattison and he will transfer to supervisor. I hung up - because it did not sound real. Few minutes later another call came from this 253 number and this time a british sounding office telling me that I should have received a notice from Police and I can be arrested in 15 minutes if I do not answer questions and there are 3 attorneys on line and they can take away my passport. I immediately hung up.
When I looked at this number online - I found many people complained on this realized it is a scam

I just received a call from this # few minutes ago saying he is officer Robert Jackson and told me here is federal investigation going on against me states that that I am being investigated for not paying taxes for 2010, 2011 he told me I can get arrested and citizen ship and passport can be taken away.He told me we can settle out of the court by giving him money.I am a good citizen and I have an accountant that does taxes for my business and personal when I started yelling at the guy telling him I don't believe anything he says and I don't owe anything on taxes to govt.,He hung up on me .He also told he is calling from Newyork , and there 3 attorneys listening to the conversation so I have the right to remain silent.

Was her name Lisa? Some retard called for my dad and she said that they have a complain against his name. Sounds like BS to me. When i called that number, no one is picking up.

I too received a similar call from 253-220-0720 and reported to the IRS fraud investication dept.

These are scammers calling from Pakistan, do not engage with them. Because they are calling internationally, the case falls within ISI's domain. They are a known entity to ISI and there is going to be arrests made in short time.

This scammer just called my house this morning and that the audacity to leave a voicemail for my husband threatening "serious federal charges" and "arrest" if he didn't return the call.  Definite Indian accent.  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.

I also got a similar message asking to pay. the names are Allen Walten and Michel Brown from fedral home land security. I almost paid.

Hi I just received a call from the above number. Left a voicemail saying his name is Michael brown from department of homeland service and that my name and ID is under investigation and that he would bring legal charges if I didn't call him back. Got my attention for quite sometime. I feel a lot better after seeing these messages.
