STOP CALLING

Auto message about updating my business listing. I get at least three calls a day to my home telephone number.

These guys keep calling my business after i repeatedly asked them to take me off their calling list. They are disturbing my business and now are harrassing my employees and myself.  Supposedly the company is based out of Washington state but there is no address of their existance. How the hell is that possible? Not even a P.O. Box, which i know for a fact some companies will have if they dont want to be found.  I get 3-5 calls per day 6 days a week. Please stop these F!~@#$ing people before it gets worse.

Robo/Automated message-----"major search engine, again, press 1 now to put your business on the front page, press 1 now, press 9 to be removed from the list".

253-236-2052, 253-236-2670, 206-397-1299  Deleted and have not bothered with all the other numbers.  

Call blocking!  Forget it.  It does not work.  You block one number, they call the next day with one or two different numbers.  As a business, we are bombarded with these annoying, plundering, and predatory calls, to the point its harassment.  The same pathetic robo/automated message.

The other two most annoying--"google update, update your google listing now, press 1 to speak to an agent, press 9 to be removed from this offering"  800-761-966-odd number, 425-406-9023, 11-417-800-2294, 510-357-9511, 206-397-1299(this number same as different message above), 516-204-0237, 210=659-1446, 860-754-2319, 425-406-9023,253-236-2670(same number as above)

So, same repeat numbers.  At least three calls per number.  Everyday, so far except Sunday. Has been going on for years.  

Really does not matter what we do as a business,  There is no choice.  Business numbers are out there.  Good old Google, the real Google, tracks everything everyone does, sells the information to these predators.  Data compilers.  Facebook, Twitter, Discount cards, Coupons, Rebates, Register purchases, on and on.  Everything about you and your business is available for these stalkers. Unsolicited.

Medical records and health information---oh, dont worry, we have a HIPPA Law.  Right!  Laws about Robo/Automated calls as well.   ????

Received call to our hospitality business in Minnesota.  No Message was left.

Just got this call--dead air.  Put the phone on speaker phone and pressed mute and went back to my work.  It took them over 10 minutes to disconnect!  Unfortunately I don't have a phone with call blocking and I don't believe my service provider offers this service.  May they all burn in hell!

This number is from a firm that claims to be able to put your business at the front of search engine lists.  This is a scam.  They also claim to remove your phone number from their calling list, but they do not accept phone numbers, so this is not possible.

They tricked me upon first calling.

"May I verify your Google listing?"  My first thought, "Awesome, I completely forgot about the Google set up!"

I was all set to move forward to help verify things until they mention a web site, "BeVisibleOnline.com" which is nothing but an SEO company.  They wanted to sell me SEO services at $259/ or pay a year upfront and get it for $159/mo.  I already contract for that service and not for six times what they want!

I just bought this company, its inventory and two web sites recently so I'm still trying to catch up on every aspect.  Even the number had just gotten ported to me from Denver to Austin via Vonage.  Now, I'm thinking Vonage sold my name and number to those A-holes.

Got a call. Didn't recognize. Didn't answer. No voicemail was left.

Had a hang up call from this number at 6:41 PM Manitoba time - we are a small business & happened to be in the office.

Late this afternoon I got a call from 1-253-236-2052. I'm in Montréal, Canada, and since I didn't recognized the phone number I didn't answer. No message was left in my voice mail. Recently I've been receiving calls like that from places all over the U.S.A. and also from British Columbia. Curious, no? All I can say is that such calls are unsolicited, and the person or company who's calling me never leaves a message...

These calls are worse than spam.

I'm not a business...therefore, have no need of business or google listings....and am not in the US. I tried to block the number but was told "I'm sorry the last calling number is not available"....yeah?? Not as sorry as I am!

This message typically means the caller is off-shore and using a spoofed number (alternatively, in Canada, some callers can purchase a number that can't be blocked ... like phone service providers; real survey researchers, and???...but not criminals trying to steal whatever).

I dialed 253-236-2052, heard the recorded message, pressed 1 to speak to a person and promptly told them to put my number on their do not call list.

Hopefully, it will work.

This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc., which is run by Paul Maduno and Luis Martinez.  They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Auto message states "Press 1 to update your business listing" that is all the system says.

Robocall to wireline. Female voice saying something to the effect of "update your free internet listing press 1." So, for change I did. Jacqueline (she said she was named after Jacki Kennedy Onasis), came on the line, say she was with On-Line something or other. She wanted to "verify" info for my on line listings (variation of the Google Placement scam). She had the company name, phone number and the business owner. She checked on the company zip code and city. Fortunately, she did not catch my name when I answered so I gave her another alias when she asked for my name. She asked if I was the owner. I said no I was xxxxxx. She said OK. Just verifying the information. Good by.

In anticipation of what others will post: I have been bombarded for the past two years plus with this junk. I use a call blocker for previous numbers called. While I usually do not answer, occasionally I screw up. It makes no difference to answer or not, speak or not. The information is well available already. If an errant charge would appear on a phone account or charge card, it is easily detected and easily reversed. Account numbers, SS# and so forth were not part of this conversation. So, while cautious, I am not paranoid, just pissed-off for the disturbance.

This number just dialed my office number.  Left 4 second voicemail of dead air.  This number has called at least once a week for the past several weeks.  Will report to FTC Do Not Call as my office number has been registered for at least 3 years on DNC list.

Oh also, a pick up and drop does register in their computers as an answered call so they assume it was live.

Not necessarily.  When a predictive dialer gets more answers than there are agents in the call center, it can act like a dead air call.  Either way, it is most likely someone you do not want to talk with anyway.
