I got 2 calls within the last week form the "IRS!!" from the same person with indian accent. HE gave different names (Eric Watson and John Austin). He claimed that I need to contact a criminal lawyer for an immigration case?
He wanted to varify my address and when I asked his who I'm I talking to exactly .. he was not happy and said you are talking with Eric Watson the CEO in the IRS !! seriously !!
He called from this number (202) 370- 7671

Man calling himself "Eric Watson" with a heavy foreign accent phoned the number listed on CashAdvanceUSA payday loan application as my WORK number from 215-758-9869. He said that a case had been filed against me due to a loan that I "never bothered to pay back" and threatened that a warrant would be filed with my local police department and that I could "prove myself in court" after I blatantly told him his allegations were crap. 1: I wasn't even approved for the loan 2.I didn't receive ANY funds to be responsible for any repayment 3.I called my prepaid debit card company just to be sure that there were no transactions or activity on my account, and of course, no such "loan" was ever received to that associated account through the routing and checking number. 4. He called THE NEXT DAY after entered my information on the web form. No written notification was received, not even an email. What even is the purpose behind these calls?? What is this guy hoping to accomplish? An "out of court" settlement to his exclusive benefit perhaps?? I'm going to report this to the appropriate authorities, because at the very least he succeeded in getting my feathers ruffled when I WAS in a pretty good mood before he called with his bull. I'm in a much better mood now though :) It seemed fishy and after hitting this forum the fishy-ness is confirmed. I would love to see someone like this rot behind bars for extortion :)

.this is what I did....told them so happy they callled about consolidating my CC debt...what a life saver...etc...I said I had over 20K in CC debt...could they possibly help...I was transferred to Mark so fast it really was pretty funny....I still kept up the story and the thank you's.....so when Mark asked for specific CC numbers....I just asked him to wait a moment so I could go get the cards.....then just laid the phone down on the table and left it sitting there and then just went on working on the computer.......it took Mark about 4 minutes before he hung up.  I was pretty happy that I wasted 4 minutes of his time......and it took about a year and now the calls have started again.  So I will do the same again...and really suggest everyone do the same...say or do whatever it takes to get the highest ranking person on the phone...if possible...tell them you need to go get whatever info they need...then just lay the phone down and go about your business.  They usually hang up in 3 to 5 minutes....BUT it was thier 5 minutes wasted...not yours!  Actually it was really fun, kind of like acting...get as dramatic as you want...and thank them a lot....IT WILL MAKE YOUR DAY!

This looser called me this morning at work! I almost was written up because the conversation got extremley aggresive fast and i got loud....

I have been getting nonstop every hour, calls to my home from different out of state(or country) #"s, and once I started answering them I noticed the guy sounded the same, same accent, gave a diff name though! Everytime I'd ask to speak with his "supervisor" he'd get angry and say no, now I know that's not how legitimate companies would act, I tell them not interested, and take me off your call list, just to receive another call in an hour!!! This morning @7:30am, they called left a msg. saying he needed to hear from my attorney or myself and if I didnt return the call, "his apologies as the situation unfolds on me" - I immediately googled his name and Harrison wtvr and am soooo glad I found your posts, Iknew it was fishy....How do I really stop all these calls, they also call on Sundays...Thanks!

Take a further suggestion.  Close the debit card and get your bank to issue a different one.  Do not EVER give out your card info for these scams.  If they know you'll pay, they will never stop calling you, and trying to get more money out of you.  Hang up on them every time they call, or, better yet, don't answer any numbers you don't know.  They've got your personal info, and you need to protect yourself.

Heavens, no.  This is just a blantant attempt at extortion.  Hang up on them.  Even better, blow a signal horn (bought at WalMart or a sporting goods store for under $10) in their ear.

Don't worry too much about anything that they say.  One, there is no such thing as a lien on a SSN.  And even if there was a debt owed, they have to notify you first about a court date.  These people are scammers and thieves.  Don't answer their calls, and do not call them back.

I received a call from an Eric Watson with the Harrison Law Firm about charges. He has changed his number now to 713-701-7282, beware of the change. They get smarter after the victims catch on. I have notified the attorney general in my state several times when he changes his name and phone number.

Did anything ever come of it? We got the same phone call I just want to make sure they can't do anything with the information.

i recieved a call from someone who said they worked for a law firm, and that i was being sued for non payment of a payday loan. well i though this was strange because i never received a payday loan. he had all of my information my place of work, my bank name, the last 4 digits of my social. he tells me i would receive papers to go to court and i should have 6 to 8 thousand dollars for court cost and attorney fees.

I just got a call too. Whats going on with this company???

i've been getting these calls about 5 times a day for a couple of weeks now. If i hang up on them they call right back. They say that they're from some law firm and that i'm being sued i keep telling them to serve me papers and they just tell me that they are going to have me arrested within 2 hours. I've never seen anything. If i ask them who i'm being sued by they tell me that they have to read me some affadivit and when i decline they get mad. They have my address and the last 4 of my s.s. I'm trying to figure out what they want but i don't want to give them any more information either. I'm trying to figure out how to get them to stop calling me

I too got a call from this number today and they had all information like name, last four digit of SSN etc...

Fortunately being an Indian I could immediately understood that the guy's ascent that he is not from any law firm but from a call center. I had similar experience in the past and had read somewhere that if we ask them the bar number of their law firm, they are speechless... and guess what it worked!!
I told that guy that I indeed have an attorney and I am going to sue the caller and this law firm for harassment and  identity theft... the caller asked me if I was Indian and then he suddenly started speaking in Hindi..

For those who need to know how it works.. here is the story from the poor caller himself..
These guys are young college graduates/undergraduates from India who are jobless and work for various BPO (call centers) in India. They have been given a script to read with all your details like name, phone number, SSN etc.

What to do when someone calls you.. Per the caller, there is hardly anything you can do about it.. they have a series of phone numbers (VOIP) phones that they use to call you. In fact, our numbers and SSN details are "sold" to these guys by various scam companies (typically internet payday loan companies) so they can fool someone and see if they can get money from you...

Well... I have a lot more to tell about these guys and how their call centers work.. let me know if anyone is interested to know more about it..

They get your information if u get or try to get a loan or payday loan. It is actually and scam i found out. They clam to be a legal law firm. Eric watson from Harrison law firm. It was also posted on fbi web site for being a scam. Thank god i looked into it before i even bothered to call back. If they keep calling, tell them that you are aware that is it a scam and that you are or have reported it to the fbi or police.

I have been getting calls from these people and i was nice orgianally.  Getting a bit angry with them because they keep calling even when i resolve the matter nicely.  Finally blocked the Harrison Law Firm with an Android App and reported it to the FBI.  But what is the deal with these people.  I feel no remorse for people trying to take advantage of other people.  And furthermore, if you were going to go thru with a crime such as this why wouldn't you be more believeable?  LoL. When i first got a call I knew it wasnt true.  I had kept records of every payday loan i took out and had proof it pissed the man off and i told him to stop calling or it will be reported.  I will tell them it has been reported to the FBI next time and ask for the bar number.

I had applied for an online loan last month, (4/2011) and I started getting telephone threats from different groups of people who claimed to be working for different law firms 2 weeks after my online loan application. The first call I received was from an Eric Watson, Justin Watson, Sean Tyler and a John Peterson, that I owed a Harrison Law Firm $989.70 on 253-236-6039, and a 585-250-8854. I did receive an online loan but I was unsure of the exact company that loaned the money to me because I got 5 lenders all at once. I Paid the $989.70 on 4/29/11 via my Debit Card. The next week I got a call from a Jack from Bakers and Mckenzie law firm on 714-876-6739 that I owed $1,286.87 to the law firm. I paid $400 to Jack, and then I got a call from a Daniel Marshall, an Andy, and a Hunt on 760-592-8566, and a 259-253-8891 claiming to be from Oak View law firm stating that I owed $896.36 and that Eric Watson, Justin Watson, and Sean Tyler, as well as Jack, were all a fraud. Andy had me google the phone number provided by Eric Watson, Justin Watson, and Sean Tyler which came up as a fraud. I then decided to google the phone number provided to me by Jack which was also a fraud. I googled the phone number that Andy, Daniel Marshall, and Hunt provided to me but did not find anything, but I read a person's post from the Harrison Law Firm scandal, of being threated for loan repayment by a John Smith from Oak View Law Firm. Andy had told me to inform my bank so that my money could be refunded. I did. My bank gave me the phone numbers listed on my bank statement, (which were different from the phone numbers that were given to me by Eric Watson, Justin Watson, and sean Tyler, as well as from Jack) to call and request a refund. Jack refunded the money, but Eric Wtson, Justin Watson, and Sean Tyler, from Harrison Law Firm did not, stating that they would send me a letter showing that I paid, and that my case was closed. My bank has filed a claim against them. Andy, Daniel  Marshall, Hunt, and later a Ricky called me twice about my so called case. I called the Iowa Legal Aide and I was given the Attorney General's phone number, (Tom Miller) and the Consumer Protection phone number. I spoke with a Marc Wallin, (the Investigator) who took my information and provided me with this website. I googled the real Oak View Law Firm and discovered that Andy, Daniel Marshall, and Hunt do not work there. I called Andy, Daniel Marshall, and Hunt to inform them of this knowledge, and that they would have to speak with my lawyer. Andy then changed the name from Oak View Law Firm, to Clark's law firm and stated that I had to talk to Ricky. Ricky told me that they would put the loan on my Credit Report and hung up on me. All groups of people from the different law firm had Middle East Accents. I have now reported this case to the FBI, and FTC. My advice to anyone being scammed is to get a lawyer as the scammers are scared of lawyers. If you can't afford a lawyer, call Iowa Legal Aide and a lawyer within your income bracket would be provided to you.

Same thing just happened to me.  Called my work number and said I had a law suit against me and provided my last 4 digits on my social security number.  I was scared, I just moved to the area...But thank God I read your posts.  Called from 253-236-6030

i recently as well just received this call from this guy shawn saying he's from the harrison law firm....and they were a parent company or sum with us cash advance and that i owed 689 n if i didnt pay it i would b sued for 18-20k locked up n loose my job....he had all the correct information ssn bitrhdate address job info etc but am oly 18 i had no idea what was goin on i got all upset n lost focused he a foreign accent n left me an unprofessional voicemail.......this guy is a total scam # 1-253-6030.....i looked up this number and everything nd am sure u kno wat came up...and sadly calling a big company he supposingly work with.....y when u call back he's the one to answer what a coinsidence is this guy fake or what...?

Hello to everyone this is happening to.I have been getting these calls for weeks on my cell but never answered them, today the so called Eric Watson calls my work number and freaks me out thinking I have a fraud charge against me and I owe money and it had to be paid today or I would have to go to court and that I would lose my job and all this other crap. But any way I just want to let everyone know that this Eric f***er calls under 3 different phone numbers because he called me about 20 minutes after I first spoke with him and claimed he was calling about a car loan I had and then about an hour after that he calls again from yet another number this time I told him what I thought of him and he responded with but I still love you what an a**le. They claim they are calling from a law firm and use the names Eric watson and Steve Taylor the numbers that show up are 206-203-2524 / 253-236-6030 and 916-395-0000 So hopefully this is helpful to all the people this is happening to

OK, I wake up this morning with this man named Justin Martin calling me. I never heard a Indian or Indonesia with a name like that. Anyway he said a lawsuit us being formed against my fiance but wouldn't say why or what for. So me being me I freaked out. I go online and look for the company. I find many but none with this number so I Google the number and this site popped up. Well I call them with my lawyer on three way. When I finally got through my lawyer informed them that he was indeed a lawyer and he was reporting them to the FBI he cussed him out and hung up. Its a total scam so people please be safe.

I received a call from 253-236-6033 and they also left another # of 253-236-6030, stating that they are calling from  a Harrison Law firm. The man who left me a message by the name of Jeff Smith and had a heavy accent. I hung up on him and he continued to call, 3 times in one day. Didn't share any information, googled the number and it seems as if they are involved in a bunch of scams.

I recieved a phone call from 253-236-6030 and I didnt recognize the number so I didnt answer. A man named Jeff Anderson left a message stating that I had a lawsuit against me and that my SS# had a lein on it and that I needed to return the call immediatly. I was very nervous! But then I realized that I hadnt done anything and this couldnt be possible. I looked the number up on whitepages.com and it said that the number was a cell or unpublished number. And they were claiming that they were from "Harrison Law Firm". Any actual law firm would not be a cell number. And I also recognized the voice from a previous call saying that I was approved for a car loan ( which I knew wasnt possible cause I know I have bad credit and nobody is going to give me a $30,000 loan for anything). I then google the number and it brought me to this site. Im really glad that I read all of these posts and now I know how they got my information. I did try to sign up for a payday loan, and I see that it was from CashAdvanceUSA. The same man, Jeff Anderson, I had spoken to and he said that he was from PayDayLoan Now, the website he said to get the loan from was pdlnow.com. Now I have so work to do on getting this all straightened up. Thank you for everyone who put up there info on what happened to them. So in addition to "Eric Watson" look out for "Jeff Anderson" from the "Harrison Law Firn" and he speaks in a very thick accent, maybe from India, cant really tell.
