They called ME at 3:20 AM!!!!! Jerks!!!

This is a ph# from Auburn, WA in regards to an organization who raises money and uses a police organization name; The police receive a very small portion of money collected and you are normally buying tickets to go see a once famous band/group.

This number is for the Fraternal Order of Police. If you have caller ID, they try to disguise the name of the company by showing "WA FOP" on caller ID. If you demand that they remove you from their caller list, they will do so for about 3 months then will call again using a different phone number. This is NOT a ligitimate company as no police agency in the state of Washington will verify the company nor will they support company. You should ALWAYS file a complaint with the DO NOT CALL program if your number is on their list. It is the only way to get this company to stop bothering people.

These a**holes woke up my baby by calling at 9:00 at night.  I called the number back and hear some Irish funeral bu***hit music.  I am sooooooooo upset

Received a 10 second call from them as they hung up when my answering machine clicked on.  It showed up as Unknown Name and when I called it back (253-275-3604) it was an answering machine message with a woman's voice describing the Fraternal Order of Police.  I will file a complaint with the No Call List (as they other messages have said) and hopefully they'll take me off their list.

Not ok to calling and askin for the lady of the house.... ANd then hangs up. They need to say who they are then leave an appopriate message!!!

Received the call at 2053 with caller asking for a "Wendy"; never ID'd self; when told there wasn't a "Wendy" at number called the male caller just hung up.  As a retired law enforcement employee when the WA FOP does call they initially ID their agency.  This call was a scam attempt.

i resieved a call from this num. today the person calling asked for a member of this home,right away i got a wierd gut filling about the callers voice and then said that person is not home may i take a mess. right off he replyed NO,i then asked what his name was and he said that is not nesasary.then hung up .i checked caller i.d. to see if there were any other calls made to my numb. from the fod and there had been a few days prier.this was very creepy felling and strang to say the least.i do not trust the caller and will do whats needed to bloke the caller.......

They call, 8:25 p.m., ask for my wife by name, my wife repied " she died last week".  He replied "I will call back later, the hung up! WTF?

This number has been calling my unlisted number so have no idea how they got the number. These jerks called twice on April 7th  - the last call at 8:20 PM - and on caller ID it showed it as an unknown number.  Last year they called my other number several times, showed FOP on caller ID and different numbers and cities and left no message.

received a call from this number this afternoon and when i answered it sounded like a feedback or something. hard to explain. I immediately hung up.

From a police officers guild wanting money for a fundraiser in Auburn WA.....they called my cell phone at 8:50pm, funny thing is that my husband is an police officer for the city of Auburn WA so it was kind of funny to mess with them.  These are the people who give about 1% of the funds gathered and give it to the fraternal order, that way they can play in the gray area of the law and say they are a non profit that is doing a "fundraiser" for the FPO.

Rec'd the call at about 10:45 PM.  They thought that since our area code is 253, we lived in Washington.  We have Vonage, and kept our WA number when we moved to Texas.  The caller was a computer that would respond with irrelevant comments when I would ask it questions. Pretty funny actually, and then I finally got a human who identified himself as Jordan Richards. I asked to be removed from their call list, and I reminded him that nowadays area codes are irrelevant, since people routinely take VoIP and cell phones with them all over the world.

I keep getting calls from these guys too.  Sometimes the caller ID comes up as WAFOP and sometimes it just says WASHINGTON CALL with the phone number.  I have asked not to be called again at least 3 times.  I literally just got a call from them now.  Phone rang twice and that was it.  What else can we do to keep them from calling except not answering or hanging up on them?

As for soliciting donations from me:  I already pay for L.E. wages, compensation & retirement through my property and local sales taxes.  If that isn't enough for you, try finding employment in a new field.  Either way, stop bothering me, Jerks.

Got call from this number 2/16/10 8:54pm. I didn't answer as I did not recognize it. They did not leave a message. Caller ID said "Auburn"

Totally bogus scam from start to finish, if you donate you are enriching these call center crooks. We see a lot of posts from the people who run this scam on 800notes, because this site educates people about the fact that this is a scam.

Ask you local law enforcement officer whether these so-called charities are real!

Operations like this are en embarrassment to law enforcement everywhere. they keep getting sued, and keep popping back up under new names with new phone numbers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Tell them to take you off their list (they usually won't) or just hang, but NEVER GIVE THESE CROOKS MONEY ON THE PHONE. Once they have your account number they will drain it for all it's worth. Anybody can register a phony website and start a phony charity these days, it's sad. But they cannot steal money from people who know how the SCAM works.

I phoned this number, 1-800-644-7207 and a nice lady there said that "yes we have a fund raiser going on right now", and "yes that (253-275-36040) is one of our numbers".
She explained that non profit organizations do not fall under the national 'do not call' list, but she was happy to take my number & have the fund raisers take it of their solicitation list.

I just got an email from the actual Fraternal Order of Police confirming the call is legitimately from them. So, yes, this is a solicitation call, but it's not a scam from someone claiming LE connections fraudulently.

This number is for the Washington State Fraternal Order of Police.  It is a legitimate organization.  Just call the "800" number and ask to be put on their "Do Not Call" list.  It is easy and there is no problem.

I went to the web and typed in "WA FOP" for a Google search and Bing gave me the website for this caller ID.  I just called the "800" number (below) and asked to be put on their "Do Not Call List".  It was very simple and there was no problem.  They have an annual fund raiser and I guess this was the day to do it since it is Veteran's Day. So...no worries.

I just received a call from this number but I did not answer phone. Caller ID said WA FOP.  I Google'd the phone number and came up with this blog.  Thank you all for your feedback especially Teresa.  It helps to know who I am dealing with.  I think they have called me before.  They seem to have an annual fund raiser.  I never have any money to help so I would never be tempted to give them any.
