If you see this number (+44 (0) 208-099-9787), it's an IP phone POP (point of presence) for an Indian based call centre (might have misspelled that...I think there's a 'c' in 'con artists....?) that has several web portals (see below), all purporting to be international or regional employment agencies. Problem is, a check of local business registries and businesses operating at the addresses they claim on their websites reveal are no such businesses in operation at those addresses. Surprise. The one thing these agencies have in common is the above UK number.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from them.
Any business or employment info they 'sell' is freely available online using Google. What they do, regardless of what you buy, is rack up a monthly charge to your credit card for a 'personal job finding service' that you did not buy. They then call you to 'discuss your personal job hunt service' in the hope of either convincing you NOT to take it off your card, OR, record a set of answers to standard questions, which they then edit to appear to be authorising something.
When they realise people they've suckered in have worked out what the London number is, they start using pre-paid mobile numbers (obviously purchased by an accomplice in the various countries they try this scam...an Indian accomplice...and this is not being derogatory to Indians, this is just the plain fact of it) which then diverts to ANOTHER pre-paid mobile number that then diverts out of country or to a voice-mail service.
If you start receiving calls from mobile numbers immediately after you start receiving calls from the number above, don't answer them (good practice in any event to avoid other fraudsters or unwanted telemarketers) but try again a while later. They invariably divert to another mobile, and within a day or so are disconnected, as the carrier works out they're being used for unlawful purposes.
Company 'fronts' include:
www.teleportmyjob.com
www.gulfcvspecialists.com
www.methuselahgroup.com
If you are unfortunate enough to let them get your credit card details, cancel the card immediately and report the caller's activity to the card provider.

Total scam. Told me he was from the Windows service center and that my computer had problems. I kept him on the line as long as possible just to waste his time so he wouldn't be scamming anybody else with that time. I asked him for my IP address because anyone who supposedly had access to my computer would certainly know that. Nope. OF course he doesn't know that because he's just a scammer.
Then I asked him to explain exactly what was wrong with my computer and what version of Windows I was running. Lots of mumbo jumbo and of course he doesn't know what version of Windows I'm running.
These guys are so easy(and fun) to play with although I do feel sorry for the victims who get taken in by these scammers.

They keep calling me from different numbers. Im not answering. I know its the same guy who called me from two different numbers asking me to pay a payday or legal action will be taken against me. They are rude and vicious. They use profanity and continuously call my work. I have not even called work tower if they have talked to them today considering its my day off. They know my personal information like my social, my drivers license, and my address ...its so scary!!

While at work, I got a call on my cell phone from a number I didn't recognize. Usually I don't answer those, but my ringer was turned up and the quickest way to shut it up was to answer.
The woman on the other end, named Samantha, was a heavily-accented middle eastern woman. She said she was calling to inform me that I was due in court the next day to answer charges of check fraud. She then proceeded to read through a spiel, asking me to "wait until she was done" to answer any questions. The spiel stated basically that I had taken a payday loan and failed to repay it, and that I was now being charged with check fraud and a couple of other charges I couldn't understand. If I was on probation, I should notify my probation officer. I should contact an attorney immediately.
Once she's done with her reading she asks me what I want to do about the bill. I said I had some questions. I asked for her name, for a contact phone number, and for the name of the company she worked for. I asked for the name of the company I supposedly got a payday loan from and it was "quick payday loans". Then I asked for an address and she said, "why do you need to know the address". I said, if your company is legitimate, you shouldn't have a problem providing one. She said they were giving me the opportunity to resolve my issue but the details would be in the subpoena I'd be served the next day.
This is where it gets scary. She then read off all my personal info. My SSN, my full name and address, where I work, where I BANK AT...everything. Then she said that they had the "right" to let my employer that I am involved in a criminal proceeding. That's when I was sure she was a fraud. I again asked for the address. She again asked me what I wanted to do about the bill. When I said nothing since I haven't done anything wrong, she muttered something and hung up.
I called the number back. "Samantha" answered. I asked again for the company address or the supervisor. She put me on hold and a man came to the phone (didn't catch the name). He also had a thick middle-eastern accent. Asked him for the address. He refused. I asked for the cause number. He said it would be on the subpoena I'd receive tomorrow. I asked which court it had been filed at and he said "your local court". Then I laughed and said that if he didn't know where it was filed, he didn't have a subpoena. Then I flat out told him "you're a fraud". He got mad and said we'd see when I was arrested tomorrow; I'd better get a lawyer. I told him he was barking up the wrong tree because I actually have one. (I have been wrangling with a REAL collection agency for the last year over fraudulent collection practices and have had to retain a fair debt and collections attorney to protect myself). He said again I'd see the subpoena tomorrow and I said to bring it on; because my attorney loves stuff like this.
Looked up the numbers they called me from online and several websites have people with identical stories to mine. Some are speculating that they are actually pulling credit reports under the guise of extending credit. I don't know how they got my personal info, but I called my bank to put a security alert on my account. I talked to my boss at work. I still have to notify the credit bureaus. Looked up "Quick Payday Loans" and of course got a million links to sites that offer "quick payday loans".
Folks, I deal in my job with fair debt and collection practices. Here are a few things that let me know they were frauds:
---You aren't going to get a subpoena the same day you're due in court.
---No collection agency has the right to discuss your financial or legal matters with your employer.
---Criminal court and civil court are two separate and distinct entities. Paying money doesn't get you out of criminal charges that have already been filed. That is up to prosecutorial discretion. And, being charged in a criminal proceeding doesn't give you an automatic financial liability. If you are convicted of something, you can be ordered to make restitution, but simply being charged doesn't give anyone the right to collect from you; and won't make it go away if you pay them.
I feel very sorry for people who don't have the same knowledge of the law that I do because of my line of work. It would be very easy to get roped into this and be stolen from. According to some of the complaints I've read, these guys have even resorted to repeatedly calling someone at their job to try to extort money from them.
I can't believe with all the complaints I've seen, these guys are still in business. They aren't even collecting legitimate debts. In an economy where there is so much fear about getting and keeping jobs, this sort of thing should be at the top of the list to get stopped, yet these guys keep going.

I've been getting messages and calls from these guys for a while. They're looking for Latisha, at first I just assumed this chic wrote bad checks and gave a bogus number (lucky for me, my number). I figured since every other job moved overseas, why not debt collectors? The guys were obviously indian or bangledeshi (I live in the Middle East, there are more indians in Arab countries than Arabs). These calls were coming in on my US VOIP line. It got annoying after the first 5 or so calls, and the time difference meant I was getting calls in the middle of the night here. I finally went off on one of these dudes. "listen you little B.... A... motherF....., call my number one more G....D..... time and I'm gonna rip the windpipe right out of your F..... throat. It ain't nothin' but a short flight to Mumbai from here C....S......, I'll F...... kill your lil' B....A.... where you sit! Ain't no Latisha at this M.....F...... number!" A measured response I felt. While it made me feel incredibly better, I doubt it did anything to help my dilemma. The guy sat silently for a second and then it happened. One of the funniest things I've ever heard in my life. In a muted, soft, and Indian accent I heard... ".... No....no, you F..... F.... you." Looking back, it felt like I was watching Eddie Murphy talk about foreign fans who only remember the curse words. I lost it on the phone..... "M......F......., BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!" You get the drift. I've got to say, the little curry smelling punks have been quite entertaining. I am temped to research their location in India. I've got a few freinds here that could direct me right to the door if I could lock down an address. How funny would that be? Kick the door open.... BAM! "Which one of you little S....s is Agent Michael Smith from the Internal investigation of federal bureau office!?!? Don't look at me like I'm stupid, you told me who you are on the phone, it must exist!!!!"

Two calls in 3 days. Told me that my computer was not only infected, but spreading viruses to other computers. On the first call, I asked the Indian accented woman exactly what the name of her operating center was. She got angry and told me that I HAD to fix the problem now and I was making it very difficult for her to "fix" this "serious" problem. I hung up. 2nd caller said she was calling from a support center and named a town near me. Started the same dialogue and I told her it was a fraud and hung up. Next time, I think I'll keep them on the line as long as possible and give them the fake info. Jerks.

Same here...I get calls 3 times a week. I asked where they are calling from. They said Samford, Florida , but the area code was 253. I am actually from Florida and did not recognize the area code. I told the Indian woman she was lying about the location. She hung up. She identiufied herself as a Microsoft employee. The same MO- Computer virus problem.
Please help get the word out about this scam before someone gets cleaned out.

Started getting calls from this number last year claiming I defaulted on a payday loan that I never took out.
Now I am getting calls from this number telling me that I have many virus' and errors on my computer. When the man asked me to log into my computer so he could show me, I asked him which one. He asked me if I have more than one computer at my location, I replied - "You should know - You are from the Windows Team! Now tell me which computer has all of these problems you mentioned." He told me to log into all of them!
I told him I am too busy for this right now, to give me a number I can call him back. He told me his name is Robert Smith and I can call him back at (505) 240-6756.
The man has a very heavy accent and is very pushy!

Got a call asking for my sister and was questioned of who I was.I hung up and the Indian man called back swearing and yelling at me.today he called back saying his name was Alex Young and called numerous times saying she had an unpaid loan for 483 dollars and if she didn't send a payment he was about to send it to the police and Monday they will come "drag her to court and be interrogated" he called back saying he was David Watson, I said I thought you were Alex and he said oh no, David is my supervisor. When I asked to speak to both of them he refused and said he's hand the phone over to David, who was supposedly sitting next to him. He deepened his voice and claimed to be David, when I said it wasn't him, he changed back to his regular voice

Same number, same guy, same problem...DIFFERENT YEAR!!!!
What IS THE POINT of paying taxes to fund FTC, FCC, FBI F-WHATEVER if they can't do ANYTHING to stop a loser with a phone from trying to SCAM my ELDERLY MOTHER? So they can keep someone from saying the F-word on TV?!?!!?
They should eliminate these pointless departments and cut into the deficit if they can't handle something as SIMPLE as THIS!!

This number calls my cell phone multiple times per day. I have put them on the auto-reject list. Their voice-response system is a fake, pressing "1" to be taken off their list has no effect at all.

Thanks to all the people above who took time to explain what happened to them when they answered this phone call (253-363-9006) - I've been receiving calls as well but do not answer. I never answer calls like this that show up on my caller ID. As a result I've probably missed some important calls from faraway friends, but oh well. Thanks again guys. I'll be even more vigilant about not answering now!

I received 3 calls from th ese people. the final one was from Eric Smith with a very thick Indian accent claiming to be with Microsoft's call support. What they were after was to gain remote access of my computer. These people are very pushy and if you are at all unsure of computers, would make you question yourself enough to hand over remote access to them.
I called Bell and made a report and was told that the number is from Indi, being spoofed from India and that the RCMP also have a file on them.
