The previous comment about Broadway Center for the Performing Arts is my guess. I get lots of email from them after seeing a show. I live in Portland, Oregon so there's no government business that makes any sense.

Yup, I agree.  I bought tix online and went to one event at the Pantages Theatre in Tacoma -- this is a call from a fundraising drive for the Broadway Center for Performing Arts.

I called the Eastside pool to ask a question about lap swim. They returned my call the next day from this number. They did not leave a message the first time they called but finally did leave a message identifying themselves and answering my question the second time.

I have been getting these calls also-- I have bought tickets for events online at the Broadway Center and now after reading this, makes sense- They should really leave a message-  I received at least 5 calls from that #

number called i answered they asked for my name i told them to hold on the waited for a little bit and hung up. i called the number back said the number could not be traced

Interesting that Sunday night the City would be calling... still waiting for ANY message.

When I got this call it was from a community member that the city of Tacoma allows to use their phone for outreach communication.

I received a call last night (tuesday) from this number at 8:01 p.m.

I received a call from this number this evening at 7pm (it's Tuesday). I also bought tickets from Broadway Center of the Performing Arts and they call me three times per year wanting money. I didn't answer as my phone was silenced but they didn't leave a message either. I would wager that it's from them too.

Message from South park Community Center about a class that my daughter was waitlisted before.  The caller identified herself, the organization, why she was calling, and a number where she could be reached.

I got a call from this number on June 30th at 8:52pm. I read above that someone thought it might be the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts which I'm assuming is the case since they got my name from buying tickets last Winter and have tried calling a few times from other numbers, late at night, trying to get me to buy a package.

It's the prosecutors office for the City of Tacoma.

We received a call form City of Tacoma on this number at 8:00 PM Sunday 6/13/2010.  No voice message was left. My mother is under hospice care in Tacoma, so you can imagine the stress that call caused us.  We made a frantic call to my sister to find out that Mom was doing as well as expected,

I didn't answer or bother calling back. It was 8:32pm, which makes it even stranger. Unless it is from a police department, I can't think of any other City or Govt office calling that late. A message would have been nice.

A letter to City employees.
Every time you call out from the General Government telephone system the central City of Tacoma number (253) 591-2022 shows up on citizen caller ID. Citizens who return calls received on their caller ID are finding that 591-2022 is not a direct line to the person who called. This causes anxiety as they are unsure which City office is trying to reach them. Ease the frustration of citizens - whenever possible leave a voice message with your name, phone number and the purpose of your call. This will give citizens the information they need to respond and reduce their anxiety regarding why someone at the City is trying to reach them. Thanks!

This is the caller id number for the city of tacoma, if somebody calls from a government phone in the city of tacoma that is the outgoing number. If you call it, it will just tell you a message about what the number is. There is no way to call back the person that called you from the city of tacoma unless they leave a message with a direct line to them. No need to freak out.

They called and hung up without leaving a message, I think this is Metroparks Tacoma. but this is their standard number that comes up when it is from Tacoma gov't...i tried to call it and it gave a recording to this effect.  You can't call and get in touch with a person.

They called me tonight and did not leave a message and I am not home to verify that the caller id identified this number as the City of Tacoma.  However, I know that about five months back I got calls from the City of Tacoma at night and when I had finally answered, it was a call from the Broadway Center for Performing Arts trying to get me to get a membership and/or buy multiple tickets.  I also know that the Broadway Center is about to start a fund raising campaign so I would not be surprised if this is what it is.  Again, I do not know for sure since I did not answer the call and no voice mail was left but that is my suspecision.

I got a call from this number on Tuesday Night, June 23.  No message was left, but it does seem strange to get a call from the "City of Tacoma" after 6pm.

Much like KB (posted Jan 19, 2009), got a call Sunday night at 6:19 and no message was left. My preliminary research also suggests City of Tacoma, but with the economy in shambles and cut backs through out city government, this CallerID has be somehow forged...
