Phone rings, I pick up and someone on the line but they do not say anything.

Still calling. I now only speak to them in German. Very, very tempted to get out my old referee whistle. If they sue me, I did my job.

I just got a call from this number again this morning which would make the first call in the past few months. Whoever this is was calling pretty frequently a few months back. Every time I answer there's a woman talking Spanish and the first time I told her I couldn't understand what she was saying or "No españo" and she hung up. Every time after I tell her she must have the wrong number and she just hangs up.

It's really weird. And has anyone else tried calling it back? I've tried several times and a male operator's voice comes on and says "Sorry, but your call can not be completed." Then there's a short beeping tone before it goes back to the dial tone. I find this weird because normally when a call can't be put through, the operator will say "Sorry, but you're call cannot be completed - as dialed, please hang up or try your call again -.

Maybe it's just some annoying prank callers, but it kind of bothers me.

this nbr 254-467-8558 calls my phone at least twice a week.   I answered without looking at my caller id and said hello, and of course no one said anything then hu.   What is wrong with these people?

The caller ID that they are using is spoofed, meaning that they are broadcasting a fake caller ID.  They are calling from some other telephone number, and possibly not from a phone in the U.S. at all (perhaps Mexico).  

Spoofing is easy and has become widespread.  Several IP telephony systems have that feature and there is even a smartphone app for that (just ask a skilled teenager with a smartphone).  Also, the caller can spoof almost any caller ID.  

If it's a b-i-g nuisance and you have a phone, or phone service, which allows call blocking then that may be a good solution.

This number / company needs to stop calling my home. I keep telling them to stop and they keep calling

I have comcast for my home phone and can log on to my account and under the preferences tab go to call blocking.  I can block up to 12 numbers and any private or unknown numbers.  I have Sprint for my cell phone service and they allow you to block up to 99 numbers for calls and texts.  This does not stop the telemarketers, but at least they your phone will not ring any longer from them.  

When you get tired of trying to get your phone number off the do not call list and it does not work, try this it works every time.

Jeez. Now the scam callers are going bilingual! If they're going to try to get in on the rampant plague of telemarketing fraud (thanks sooooo much FTC for not doing your jobs), they're going to have to speak a lot more slowly for us gringas. Thank heavens my college spanish went hasta la vista baby a few years ago or I might have given her my social security number and mother's maiden name!

I answered hello---but, no one said anything all I could hear some someone chewing and smacking in my ear.  I could hear someone walking in high-heels down what seems maybe a hallway on a wood floor!   I said hello again then whoever it was hung up?

Just got a call from this number. Woman spoke only Spanish and I told her I spoke English and hung up. Immediately received a call from 253-382-9903 (Caller ID said V06181756370028) but I didn't answer.

caller calls daily on my business line with a political survey to win something, interupts me while I am working. I am on the do not call lists. I hope this number gets stopped I have filed numerous complaints. Thank you!

Received a call from this number, when I called back, got no answer.

Received a call.... marked Unknown Name so I answered and hung up immediately.  Having read the posts above glad I did.

He / she / ITis obviously a SCUMBAG!  Wish we could find this SCUM and eliminate IT.

If you have a VOiP (Voice over Internet) service, you can have the phone re-routed to calling themselves back.  Maybe you can do it on land lines as well but not sure.  My service is 8X8 and I use this feature all the time with nuisance calls.  I may get one every so often but after force routing that number back to the originating caller, never again...

Get a call with a Spanish speaking person continually saying "Buenos Dias" waiting for me to respond in Spanish.  I think this is a collection agency.  I tried calling it back to get them to correct their records but a record states this number is no longer in service so I set this number up with my VOiP phone service (8X8) so that any call that comes in from this number is automatically routed back to the originating number.  So, I get them re-routed so that they end up calling themselves.  Finally, a way to get back at these spam calls...

Answering machine picked it up.  Someone saying hello with a lot of background noise.  Don't blame the DO NOT CALL LIST!!!  It is for honest people.....The calls like these don't care about the list....Political and charity calls are exempt.   Scammers do robo calls.....
I have had 2 calls from scammers that used the name of a business near me and phone number.  I know the business owner so gave him a call.  Found out the number they used was the fax number for this business.

I don't answer my phone, but I check the missed calls and this POS number keeps showing up. I guess that's why I shut the ringer off permanently.

Received call from 254-467-8558, I was not home and they did not leave any message on my machine. Just realized that they are calling many people and either do not answer or leave a message. My phone is on the no call list but that does not help because it is not the first time they do this and our government does nothing about it, they only know how to collect taxes.

Called and after 3 hello's no one one the other end. Hung up and ran the number on the internet. Looks like some low lifes trying to scam people again.

same as other posts, frequent calls, either Spanish or hang up when answered. This is a pure violation of the "do not call" legislation.

Did not answer the phone" Unknown Name". The answering machine kicked in and all you could hear is like someone was heavy breathing into the phone. Weird dud I guess, or he has a breathing proplem lol.

Background noise sounds like a call center of some sort. They ask a question in what sounds like Spanish, I reply in English, they hang up.

If you are getting calls from the a*holes just block their calls. They are not going to stop if you tell them they have the wrong number, send them them a certified letter, report them to do not call list or report them to your attorney general.
If you have a home phone all you need to do is get a phone with caller id block. Uniden and Panasonic make them now. The uniden I have does not even ring once, just blocks their calls. If they call on your cell and you do not have caller id block, just save them as a contact and set their ringtone to no ring.

Got 4 phone calls this morning.....no one answered, just hung up after I said, "hello" twice.  This is REALLY annoying!!!!

I have to weigh in here .... I worked for Continental Reservations during their bankruptcy - the air horn and the whistle were two of the pilots favorite tricks ... after seeing a couple of people get total ear damage because of it, I find the the horn AND whistle to be offensive ides.  And please don't hand me any nonsense about putting the phone down - you can't get a headset off fast enough.  There's other ways to deal with this ... Just my 2 cents ....
