Rang my home and cell phone numbers this morning. Did not answer! Special place in hell for scammers and cheats! Will not answer calls I do not recognize.

Same, girl said wrong number and hung up

got a call at 8:04 last night. made a fax sound once. oldest daughter is in trouble so I thought the cops put a tap on my phone.. am I crazy?? also in Michigan.

Called business line where I work and didn't say a word.

Just got a call from this number minutes after submitting my phone number for an online car insurance quote for AIS and Geico. Anyone doing this kind of thing before they were called?

Keep getting a call from this number to my personal cell phone. They either say they have the wrong number and hang up or it will automatically jan up after I say hello a few times. I am concerned that this could be some sort of a scam or something? It's like they are trying to verify if its an active number??? This needs to be like into, it is happening to a lot of people. When I call it back it just makes weird sounds like its no a real number. Thanks for your help.

I got a call from this number  at 8:30 AM 2/26/13. They hung up immediatly. I'm in Texas.

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone. I didn't answer. Figured I would research it and I found this page. I live in Michigan.

They also call house phones, didnt say anything just hungup.  Wonder if it is some kind of app for texting, or calling wireless?

got a call on both my home line and my cell today from 256-000-0000, answered and they said oops sorry wrong number.  What is that all about?

ok, this looks like it's been going on a really long time. I just received a call tonight a little before 8pm. I almost didn't answer, but figured why not. I've just never seen a phone number with no all zeros. I answered. She said oh I've got the wrong number. So I said ok and hung up. Didn't wait after that. So I figured I'd look it up. And found all of you. WHAT is this all about?? I'm in Michigan which alot of these calls hit, but doesn't look to be just Mi peeps. I'm curious and don't want fraudulant charges wracked up on my phone or anything crazy to go on. Anyone have any updated news on this? I'm just shocked it's been going on this long. Thanks!

I had a call from this number on my house and cell phone.  Id like to know how they got both of my numbers.  It is scary.  Both of them were women that said Im sorry I got the wrong number.  I want to know what this is all about.  I called Spring last night and they blocked the number and Im call comcast...  Iit just makes me nervous because you hear of these phone calls that you get hooked up to that end up calling a fortune or trying to somehow get into my personal affairs.  Please find out who these people are and stop this.  Thank you...

calls stating "i got the wrong number" girl voice and a scam

Same here, female voice, sorr, wrong number.  I decided to check here.  No one seems to know.

I just received a call from this number, did not answer it and they left no voice mail.

Going to report it as a scam.

Got a call today from it, no idea who it is but didn't answer as they are not in my book.

Interesting.  I got a call from this number, but was too busy to answer it.  When I called the number back (out of curiosity), I got a pre-recorded message stating the number was restricted...error code MI 83165.  Sounds like a phishing expedition to create a list of REAL working phone numbers.

If you see this number on your phone, do not bother to answer it.

two things are being done, your hello is being put into a biometric data base so when you go places in a year or so and pay with your cell phone or new credit card or new drivers license, your voice will be one of the things that will leave your butt hanging out in public. like the little black ball cameras you see every where taking your picture. Telemarketers will have a field day...your cell phone will not be a wall keeping out the trash anymore..don't answer calls will 000 anything. if you are called twice, hook up the fax machine set at pick up on the (greater than 4) ring...

I got the same call as many others of a woman saying "sorry, wrong number" and then hanging up.  My number is from Lansing, MI.
