They're offering to settle debt but most likely, they just want your personal information to steal your identity.

Those who think it's a waste, I reported a local biz that called me every Monday at the same time for 3 weeks, I reported each time, called them threatening legal action, it stopped. I added screenshots of each text and forwarded to ftc.gov . Just do it.

On 6/14/2013, at 2:45pm, I received a robo-call from (256) 529-4048 on my cellular phone which is illegal to begin with.  My cellular is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry, a second illegal act. Waited for the options, pressed option 1 for Rep. When rep came on line to discuss mortgage info they were presenting - I advised they were in violation of Federal law and would be reported. A reverse lookup does show the call as starting in Huntsville, AL. -- Any such type call is clearly a fraud attempt to gain your identification information.

Caller ID said "INFO TECH".  Partial message left, "and you're going to be desperate".  The tone was not professional, and struck me as a little menacing.

called twice this morning first time rang twice & hung up, second time Ipicked up & they stayed on the phone 30-45 seconds then hung up . Only says "Info tech" on caller ID.

Got a call and started out with "This is a public service announcement" so I hung up.

The call appears to be about a Federal Government Stimulus Package.  Most likely a scam to steal your identity.

Received a call on my call from (256) 529-4048. I didn't answer and no message was left.  I called the number back and got a message "to be added to our do not call list please #2" or something like that.  I just hung up.

They just called me and didn't leave a message -- obviously either a scam or telemarketer.  Have to agree with the posts -- the do not call list is a joke, and this is on my cell phone too.   The number is 256-529-4048.

Received on my cell phone, recorded message that mentioned Obama, stimulus, lowering mortgage rates, etc. followed by the numbered options to be removed from their list (never works) or to talk to an agent.  I opted to talk to an agent, told them I didn't have a mortgage, was on the do no call list & to never effing call me again - I'm sure I'll get another call before the week is over.
I did file a complaint on donotcall.gov but that seems to be pointless since I continually get these types of calls, whether it be about a mortgage, a security system or lowering my interest rate on my credit cards,  I report them all but they keep calling!

I got a call from this number on my cell phone.  It was a recording about mortgage rates and government stimulus.  Press 1 for a representative and 2 to be put on do not call list.  I pressed 1 and asked the woman where she was calling from and she hung up on me.

Called and said they were doing an oral sex survey. Hung up on the nasty man.

I agree with you.   It is something that should be addressed more fully by the FCCs.   However,  even though Robo calling is Illegal to all cell phones,  it may be legal in your state to Robo call land lines.  You can Google and see a list of which states allow Robo calling to landlines.  it is legal in my state.

256-529-4048 robo msg on 4/30/13 @ 4:16pm about Obama stimulus mortgage offer -- ID says 'Info Tech'- I'm working the phone for my job; this type robocall (apparently illegal) --- interrupts my concentration by making me momentarily furious once again;  robocalls are an ongoing continual defiance and lack of respect for private home life. So, I refuse to press the # to "remove my # from the calling list" (it obviously makes no difference), but press # for a rep, who sounds like a nice young man who needs to earn money; I ask him kindly: "please remove me from your calling list" -- he says "have a blessed day." I should have said in response: "May we all have a blessed day performing illegal activity while the rich get richer and the poor poorer."

Called my skype number 0_o, I declined the call four times (they re-dialed me!), in quick succession, before blocking the number entirely.

Cell call, rang, I picked up and no one on the line. No v/mail.

Called. Answered . No response.

Received a call, which I answered. No response from the other end, and then they hung up. Atl, GA.
