Don't know who's calling me and why...

This is a marketing call from a moving company.  My company moved locations over 6 years ago and are STILL getting calls from companies like this.  I suspect this company is working with an outdated marketing list.

The allied.com and northamerican.com websites did not (in 2009) retain information on forms there were NOT submitted. What is more probable is that you filled out a form on ANOTHER website like moving.com, movingcompany.com, 123movers.com, etc. and it was sold to Allied/North American.

Well..I am planning to move 1/2 way cross country.....but i haven't told anyone yet, so, kind of odd for a moving company to call.

anyway, didn't answer, and no message was left.

I requested a moving quote, too. BIG MISTAKE! These people call me all day, everyday. I had to block their phone number it got so bad. They must be seriously hurting for business if they have to stalk my life like this. They don't leave a message either, just a blank voicemail. LAME! Get a life loser move company.

constant calling everyday comes in as wayne s and answers as moving company leaving a message.  Not sure who they are or what they are but I am on the do not call list and they call everyday including Sunday.    They answer as a moving company but Wayne S is what comes up on my phone which means they are probably phony.

these scumbags call 3-4 times a day.  apparently someone filled out an online form with my number requesting a quote.  all other vendors have politely removed me from their list, but these people just keep calling and calling, leaving no voicemail and not getting the hint after a week of 3-4 unanswered calls/day.

I MADE A MISTAKE IN LOOKING FOR APPROXIMATE PRICES FOR MOVING AND AM GETTING BOMBARDED WITH CALLS!!!!!  OMG!!!   DIDNT AS FOR CALLS JUST WANTED AN IDEA OF HOW MUCH. . . . THIS IS A MOVING COMPANY - - STALKING ME NOW. .   PLEASE STOP!!!

yes very annoyed no message and when i did answer static - it is a moving company i got a call about 2 min after the online quote was submitted.

They also work with IKON. For instance, if you had an old copier lease and went to a new supplier; IKON gives them your number to try and solicit the transportation of your copier back to IKON.

Got a call. Hung up before I could answer it.  Looked up & saw these posts the # is from a moving co.  Makes sense 'cuz I just submitted a request for a moving quote online.  Don't know why they wouldn't wait for me to answer the call however.

I hope this is not the case for me...i did request a quote on line and got a call within 3 seconds too scary, and hope I do not get calls like some of you have been...moving is stressfull enough

Boy oh boy......makes you really think about considering using Allied or North American for my move....YIKES SCARY, if this is how they conduct business...

Makes sense. I was researching moving companies yesterday.

Requested a quote. But they call a couple of times a day via an auto dialer and there is no one live to talk to, just  a recording. Have called them and told them we are going w/ another company and to take my number off their list, but the calls keep coming... it's so annoying that if we were going w/ a movers instead of just renting a truck and moving it ourselves we would never go through them.  At least have a live person calling people who wanted a quote...jeesh

Legit call from moving company

It is Allied Van Lines, and they do not just call random people - so being on the no call list is irrelevant, they didn't break the law. You would've had to give them the number.

When you ask for a quote they call, and you speak to some one in India, and then to will connect you with some one in your area to do an in home estimate. It's kind of just screenings.

I also requested a quote from Allied Van Lines yesterday, and got a call from this number today. However, there was nobody on the other end of the line and I hung up. If it's a legit business call, why don't they have a functional phone line, and why didn't their name show up on my Caller ID?

It is indeed Allied Van Lines.   I had requested a quote via the web myself...and while I realize they're franchised....there's something that 1. bothers me that they never identify themselves, either on Caller ID nor by leaving a message (although I get a sense their corporate headquarters have outsourced their call center and that may be why) and 2. when I did get an email and I called them back, it was like pulling teeth to get any information (hence, why I think the call center is outsourced).  

I think I'm gonna try to get in touch with one of their local franchises and see if I can get more detailed and relevant information....or I'm just gonna have to skip them all together.

This number will not stop calling me. I requested a quote, and then sent an email saying I was no longer interested, and yet I keep recieving calls at all hours of the early morning. Will they ever stop calling me if I ignore the calls long enough??? This is getting frustrating.
