262-293-4080 called at 7:48 PM tonight, left no message, but I could hear on the answering machine background noise that sounded like people in a large room, probably a spam calling center. Caller ID gave the number and name as the number again.

I keep getting calls from this number and would like to know who's calling me, they don't leave a message.

I am cautious when someone that is representing a charity (AMVets of WI) says that they are taking a minimum donation of $25 and then start becoming rude when you tell them you need to think about that.  I say, thank them for reminding you about the carity's need and tell them that you will go online to make a donation that way you are sure that your money is going to the charity and not mostly to a processing center representing the charity.

I used the link & they won't evaluate Am-Vets or Am-Vets-WI.

They aren't listed as a tax deductible charity.

I have heard of them through other chapters.  But as to how funds are used no info.

Wow talk about insulting. LMAO! So they called my husband answered asked what they wanted and they asked for some guy who doesn't live here anymore. We just moved in. They tell him they will call tomorrow to speak to an adult! Ugh the part that sucks is they won't stop calling and they call around 8-9 pm at night :(  I don't care what righteous group they are and what they do for others. Have some respect!!

I keep getting calls from this number "LOCAL CALL BACK" listed in the caller id. I haven't answered yet, but they've left 2 fuzzy messages that last ~5 seconds and it's just static.

We got a call from this number with this caller ID, but no message was left.  Looking at other reports of "Local Call Back" suggests this might be a firm soliciting donations for a variety of associations, such as police, etc.  There was a news story a couple years ago about such firms, which indicating the firm takes ~90% of the money and the association gets about 10%.  FIGHT BACK PEOPLE!

While I appreciate your concern, this is a company that is supported by the state.

Its purpose is to help out veterans in need.  When I got back from my last deployment,
I had no job and no place to live.  They helped me get my feet back on the ground.
Most of their staff are also veterans.

Also if you ever have any concerns about where your donation is going please check out the organization rather then post general messages that do no one any good.
