They have called me everyday for the last 3 days on my cell phone, never a message left and always call arount 4:00 CST.  I am also on a Do Not Call list.

They call me every couple of days and I have always managed to miss the call.  But, no matter when I call it, it is always busy.  I called it back seconds after they called me and it was busy.  No matter what time, it is busy!!

Stop Calling!

Second time I got this call in the last week.  Say hello but no one is there.  I call back and the line is always busy.

Same as the rest.  Caller unknown, no message, busy when called.

To be on the do not call list seems irrelevant to solicitors!

I just got this call a moment ago.  Didn't answer, and seeing what you all have said, I won't be calling them back. I am on the do not call list too.

It is something called MW CC.  Don't exactly know what that is, as from above, they are from Wisconsin and it might be American Cancer Society asking for donations.  They call rarely but they still call.

I am tired of theses types of calls.I donot answer but I am tired of the phone ringing.I am on the do not call list but that has done no good.They only let the phone ring twice.

I've had this number calling me for months!  Every time I pick up, I get hung up on as soon as I answer.  When I try to call back, I get a busy signal.  This is getting very annoying!

I've been getting these calls (262-542-9278)- seems like forever.  I only answer calls whereby I recognize the caller name - nothing else gets answered at my house.

Glad that I found out this info.  I have given money in the past to American Cancer Society fundraisers (not telephone solicitations, but friends in walkathons, etc.).  In the future, I will hesitate to give any $$ to activities associated with American Cancer Society.

Nonprofits are exempt from DNC requirements (and so are political groups) - however if they disrespect me by calling me knowing that I am DNC, well there are plenty of other causes that I can contribute to - some years I have donated up to $5000 in a year to church & local nonprofits.  I have also volunteered for fundraising events too, so this is not about me trying to find an excuse to not contribute $$.

Calls and does not leave a message.

My wife answered the phone at 6:15 p.m. and the caller asked for me. When my wife questioned who they were the lady on the other end said she was Sunny. My wife then asked what she wanted and the lady was evasive. At that point I took the phone and the person hung up. I tried calling this number back and got a busy signal everytime. Is this really the American Cancer Society or is it a phishing scam?

caller id identified as MW CC,  called several times.  There was no message.  We are on the do not call list.

501(c)3's like the ACS are exempt frm the government DNC lists. Answer the call, and ask to be put on the ACS internal DNC list.

All respectable charities have a privacy policy and the ability to "opt out" and maintain an internal DNC list.

This call came up as "Unknown" most of the time I would get hung-up on, but I finally got a person this time....it is the American Cancer Society's number.

The woman that called me from this number claimed that she was from "The American Cancer Society from the county" and wanted to know if we would match last year's $50 donation (which we did not make). I'd report it, but I don't know who to report it to. As I live in Wisconsin and this was a Wisconsin number (somewhat meaningless given the ability to get a number for any location), I'll be contacting the consumer protection department in Wisconsin: http://datcp.state.wi.us/cp/consumerinfo/cp/c ... plaint_form.jsp

I never answered the call. This is the first time I've received a call from them.

Call to cell rang twice, call back number is busy, no name in Caller ID. Great to just google the number and find all this info.

Busy signal after a few seconds

I too receive several calls from this number. At least twice a day for the past few weeks.  They have left a message 2x on our answering machine- well actually one was someone clearing their throat and another one was a sigh.  I finally answered the phone in Spanish. It sure got the lady confused. (Usually it's a male that calls). She said "Sorry, I got the wrong number!".  I hung up and have my fingers crossed that they won't bother me anymore.

I answered the phone and nobody responded , then  the dial  tone went dead . I looked on internet and the area code says  it is from  Waukesha, Wisconsin.

As dar as I knoe Non-profit (i.e. for charity) organizations like the ACS don;t fall under the do not call list.

They call me every couple days.  I am always in class or away when they call.  I tried to call back and it was busy!  No matter what time you call it is busy.  Very annoying.  I wish I were actually available when they called so I could give them a piece of my mind...finally!
