Guys and gals, this is a phone Phishing scam. They will leave a real Khols number in reference, but if you answer they ask for TONS of personal information. It ISNT the collection agency, it is a SCAM. Never give out things like your SSN over the phone.

They called me with questions on my recent order.

Just wanted you to know that debt collectors are relentless. They will dig up old addresses, phone numbers, and even call relatives and friends to find location information on an individual. They can only do this one time and if they call again, then they are breaking federal law(fair debt collection practices act) contact the federal trade commission and your state attorney generals office and file complaints. Also, if you feel the need send them a cease and desist letter. Their address is Kohls collections department P.O. Box 3084 Milwaukee WI 53201-3048. Send the letter via USPS certified mail and return receipt required so you know someone actually received the letter. By federal law they are to cease all contact with you. Hope this helps!

Kohls calling for our son who hasn't lived at this address for five years.  They called here for him before and was told again and again that this isn't his residence.  You would think they would have his number and residence address by now since they apparently talked to him before.  Our number is also a business phone and we are tired of having hundreds of messages from them on our answering machine instead of our customers.

This company will close in time 4 sure!

Stop calling and harassing me!!!!!!

They keep calling me looking for wife,, she dont live here, moved out 6 month ago and stop paying all her bills, and does not have use of my cell phone, but they call me.

This number keeps calling constantly. I tried to call back no answer. I text it back no answer. They leave no messages and always call when I am busy or not by my phone. I searched it and other posts are saying it is Khols but I do not even remember the last time I shopped at khols and Ive never owned a khols card. Another post stated that it was a bounced check call from khols Ive never even given them a check. The last time I shopped there was in the beginning of the summer and I think i might have spent $10 on a candle if i remember correctly. Never had a card or gave them a check so I have no idea why they would be calling me.

Caller ID says Badgernet Data

Probably is Kohls since I've been out of work for more than 2 years. They call constantly from other numbers but today is the first time this one has shown up and they've called twice. They do call continuously from 8:00 on the dot till 9:00. Last call usually arrives about 8:45. I've never answer the phone. They've sent me letters with solutions asking for all but a small amount of the total balance being paid in one installment or 3 installments for the entire balance. If I can't make the minimum payment how on earth do they think I'd come up with the entire balance to pay off. These idiots still send me coupons and special offers for discounts on a regular basis even though I've not sent a payment for 8 months.

This is Kohl's Department stores because of a bounced check.

No one on the line when I answered.  Does not leave a message.  Multiple calls

i keep my phone on all sounds off i already got that call over 15 times.  told them your calling the wrong number 5 days later still calling me so im keeping my phone off

forgot to tell you that i didn't own kohls cards ether and no money there calling the wrong number.

While we do have a Kohl's card, we've paid our bill with them. Our experience with Kohl's has been a nightmare! At first, we went through a financial hardship due to my illness. We explained this to them and were making the minimum payments that are at least required. That wasn't good enough. They would call more and more. Our cell phones have the option to direct a specific number directly to voicemail. We did this because they were calling up to 20 times a day! No joke! I counted it one day! They changed their numbers calling from numerous numbers in one day! It got ridiculous! We called the Attorney General for our state. We explained what was going on. They said that what Kohl's was doing was in fact, harrassment. Being that our debt was less than $150 they should only be calling us maybe 2 times a week! For the amount of times they were calling us, the AG's office told us the debt would need to be in the several hundreds of thousands. I mean our original credit line was only $100! The steps that we were told to take were the next time they called to verbally tell them to not to call anymore and to validate the debt. That will buy us 10 days of peace. During that 10 days, file a cease and assist with their corporate office. Meaning that they can no longer contact you by phone, everything must be done by paper.The AG's office mailed us paperwork to fill out and we turned it back in, we are just 1 family along with thousands of others who are apart of a class action law suit against Kohl's Department Store now for failure to abide by the FCC rules and regulations. Having their accounts on a auto dialer is not an excuse either! You can tell them so. Don't be afraid of them! Stand up for yourself and make them stop caling you! They won't unless you make them. I hope our experience and me posting this helps someone out there.

Hey Reilly  Thanks for your post.  I agree with you...same thing basically happened to me. Placed an order on line last night for a virtual gift card using my credit card.  They did not process the order. This number left  a voicemail this AM asking me to call. I did and they asked me to verify info including the SSN ( last four digets)  DOB, former address.  Why?  Are you kidding me ?Totally suspicious...will report this practice to my State's Attorney Gereral.  

I asked them to cancel the order ( totally annoyed) and then received a confirmation email statng the the order was cancelled as a result of the "Order Review" !
Seems like phishing to me and will never , ever do business with Kohl.com again ! Also sending a copy of this email with a letter to the company's President.

I placed an order on Kohl's.com last night for under $31 using an American Express gift card. They contacted me from this number this morning and requested verification of name, birthdate, age, email address, phone #, LAST 4 DIGITS OF SSN and addresses for the past 5 years. They told me the card info differed from the info given and said if I did not drive to the nearest Kohl's store (80 miles away) with 3 forms of ID, they would cancel my order. When I refused and stated it was a GIFT card I was using and did not see why all the info they were requesting was pertinent, they relented and said they would release the order. I am extremely suspicious it was a phishing attempt and I will never do business there again.

I purchased a $10 gift card on their website and they called to "verify" it with me. I was asked for my email address, phone number, credit card info, date of birth, billing address, shipping address, any previous address in the last 5 years and who knows what else. That's the last time I'll order online from them. It was a $10 gift card...they made it seem like I went on some thousand dollar spending spree.

unfortunatly answering machine is not considered a contact in the eyes of the collection laws. A contact means that you have spoken to the person and they have verified who they are. If this is what you do then the collector can not call back the same day, but if you dont they can call up to 15 times a day from 8am to 9pm.

Just call them back and if you do not have a Kohl's account they will remove you from there list.  If you do have an account they are trying to get a hold of you for some reason.

Kohl's has a problem with their credit dept.system that has erronously called us apparently for mistaken collection purposes. When they call, the line often does not connect to any recorded message or live person.  When I have been connected to a representative, he/she has been unapologetic and rude.  I called 262-704-9930 to report the problem, only to have the same thing happen two hours later.  I did some research and found out that the Kohls Corporate number is 262-703-7000.  I called this number and spoke to "credit services."  The woman there promised to correct the situation.  It has been three hours without a call.  Perhaps this has worked.

Received a call from this number after I purchased some stuf online. They said they wanted to verify the info with me before they released my order because everything was done online.  They verified my address and last 4 digits of the card used.. not sure why they wanted my DOB.. ????? still question myself giving that out and not asking them about it.. anyways.. nothing alarming there..

Received a call from this number after I opened up a new Kohl's charge account and used the account immediately for a purchase on the Kohl's website.  Said to call back to 888-890-1755 and reference my order number.  They said they wanted to verify the info with me before they released my order because everything was done online.  A few questions (address, phone, DOB) and I was finished.  No big deal.

Calling my home up to 15 times a day or more. They never leave a message on the home voice mail! They even called on Christmas and New Year's Eve. The answering machine/ voice mail is considered contact. If they choose not to leave a message so be it. But only one contact a day from a collection agency is allowed by the law. This is harassmemnt no matter what the reason is.

Got a call on my cell from this phone# leaving a message stating it was from Kohl's.com in regards to an order I placed on line and to call back on 888-890-1755.
I did call back and was asked quite a few questions verifying info on the order.When I was asked what my date of birth is and a last known address I got annoyed. I don't think that should have anything to do with placing an order.I feel it's perhaps in connection with a collection agency although I've never had any issue with any.

Called my cell phone 3 times on Friday.  Answered the 3rd time and asked them to not call any more.  Called again today and I answered and they asked to speak to Angel.  No Angel lives here.  Interesting to see if they call again.
