Received call from this number, heavily accented person saying I was a primary reference on a payday loan for a person I actually know.  Wouldn't give me company name and used name of Max Jordon.  This number is actually registered to the country of Botswana.  Friend has gotten calls from this man at work.  Concerned the scammers are now connecting people who communicate electronically.  Be very wary of anyone who contacts you claiming you owe a debt for someone else.

Reply to concerned:  These people are scammers.   Calls are always about a lawsuit regarding an unpaid loan.  Most of the time the callers all have middle eastern accents and are difficult to understand.  All callers have american names that they change constantly.  Do not verify any information with them.  Report them to the BBB, FTC, State Attorney General's office, FBI and your local police .  If you have any saved voice messages save those and turn them over to your local authorities.   There are reports all over the internet about payday loan scams.  There is a lot of helpful information that you can research on this subject.

I recieved 3 phone calls yesterday and numerous calls in the past.  I have repeatively told them they have the wrong #.  They refuse to quit calling me.  Please give me links so I can report them.  I have voicemails I can report.  A man by the name of David Jackson (which is not true, he hardly speaks english) calls and refuses to listen to me.  I told him I was recording the call for my attorney and he hangs up.  I have been cussed out and told to shut up by him.  I'm tired of the calls and want to put an end to this.  Please tell me what to do.  He's called me from 267-217-3176 and 484-223-3753 and claims he is calling from American Legal Services

Just got a message from them at my WORK!  Guy claims to be Chris Jackson but sounds Arabic.  He said he represents American Legal Counsel and that a lawsuit has been filed against me.  I got another call back in September and was told my house was being watched and investigated for criminal activity!  It's so stupid it's almost laughable.  I'd really like to see these guys get prosecuted.  A$$HOLES!

I don't know if it is associated with my recent worksearch but received a call stating my social security number is being used and legal action will be taken if I do not clear it up; very heavy foreign accident (Asian?) sounds bogus!

This # called me about a lawsuit pending against me several weeks ago.  Man with a middle eastern accent called.   I hung up.  After researching this # and thanks to all the posts I decided to call these people back.   When a man (with accent) answered phone I said I know you are a scam.   He proceeded to tell me he liked my voice and wanted to know what I was doing later.  What a joke!  If anyone receives calls from this # be assured it is a scam!!!

Called this number back several times-I did not say anything when phone was answered.   After about 4 calls the person who answered started to answer with foul language.   This is such a scam!!!    What place of business would have an employee answer the phone using foul language especially when no words were exchanged!

Heavily accented man just left a message on my cell - could not be true, as he was asking for the wrong person!  Said a lawsuit was being filed against my social secuity number, and would only be able to help me if I called back.  Suppose he wanted my SS#?  Too bad, he didn't have the name right!!

Yes, this is a scam. If you think it is a scam, then it probably is. If this were a real lawsuit, they would have sent you paperwork about this. Check your local county's court website to see if there is a lawsuit on you to verify what they are saying.

The best advice is to ignore these guys. There are scammers all over the world, and their game is all the same: to get you engaged in conversation and to make you start thinking that maybe you really do owe them money. Of course, you don't owe them money, cause they're scammers! They are very skilled at the art of conversation and will get you to start thinking that maybe you should just throw some money at them to make them stop calling. Unfortunately, a lot of people do just that - which only encourages them to do this to other victims.

Don't be a victim - just hang up on them! Don't be a sucker!

This is a new number the scammers are using.   267 217 3176 is listed as a new number in 800 notes under fake payday loan collections-list new #'s here.   There is a post listed here that the scammer actually admitted that their operation was a scam and not to call back.    Please anyone receiving calls from people with middle eastern accents (that give american names) be wary!!!

I received a call from this number this morning.  Apparently my information is making the rounds of the scammers and when one of them doesn't get results, another one starts bothering me.  This was a very heavily accented man that told me I must call immediately or face further legal action.  I will answer the next time he calls and tell him to bring it on, like I've told all the others.  I don't owe them any money and I'm not sending them anything.  Also, on-line payday loans are illegal in the state I live in, so they aren't going to do anything.
