got a call from this number today  its the 7th one  in the past two weeks, and they "claim" they are from the internet fraud division, and that im about to be charged and they need my attorney's information, of course the person talking cant speak english,  and i said  if you know so much about me then you would know im an attorney  so please share the information  click went the phone.. people beware this is the new generation of phone scames, with the use of vonage, magic jack etc its easy for these scum bags to get a number in the united states and be in a third world country, outside the laws of the united states, if they threaten you with arrest do not fear no one will show up at your door. this is how they are getting us to give up our  hard earned money. and sadly many people are falling for it  refer to the fair debt and collection act for your rights, yes most collection companies are rude but they are legit and will adheere to your rights as they can get fined and they know it.  these scammers will try any thing.

Calls and keeps asking for my son and says they are going to serve him papers on our landline voicemail. I laughed and said, "He's 12 years old, and the debt you claim to be collecting on is from 2008, meaning my son would have had to take out a loan when he was 9!" thats the part when they usually hang up.

These guys are just phishing for information for identity theft!

Don't take their call it is a scam agency to get your personal information. Next time they call say "Knowland Walmart May I Help You" if they think they called a store they will most likely toss your number.

Why do they keep calling? , If they needed to talk to me, wouldn't they leave a message?  I have call blocking, so they have to put their number in to get through, is why their name comes up.

This firm has a website  and when they call, they use several variations of their name, but they are Tate Kirlin, officially.  But they have several spellings and more than one phone number by which they contact consumers.  They have no regard for consumer fraud, identity theft, or any of the other messes that other people make and you have to deal with.

By the way, they don't always have your correct name--and they "fish" until they get it.  Don't tell them ANYTHING.  Just hang up.

Their website tells clients how aggressive they are; they are a Philadelphia firm, which means if they are contacting you in another state, you have recourse through the Interstate Commerce Commission.  Contact your local congressman, your phone company, and your local DA's office.  You'll be surprised at the power YOU have that Tate Kirlin does NOT.

I just want you to know that a doctor gave out my cell phone number as his number to girls he quadruple f'd (find 'em, feed 'em, f*** 'em, forget 'em) and every debtor he had.  FOUR YEARS LATER, these creditors are still calling me, even though I have patiently explained that I am not this person, have not been this person, did not date this person, give birth to this person, marry this person, or divorce this person.  I DON'T KNOW THE GUY!

And still, these very aggressive (and let's face it...if they could REALLY do anything legal to you, they'd have already done so, and not be calling and yelling at you) numbnutz call faithfully at the first of the month.  So, I let these calls go to voicemail and delete them.  If they are under the impression I have to pay for the calls, I have unlimited calling and the dime's on them, not me.

First of all, they can call all they want...DO NOT ANSWER if you have caller ID.  Second, you do not have to pay debts you don't owe...and that's ALL that has to appear on your credit report.  You get to write a rebuttal on your credit report--did you know that?  Third, they are employing techniques that are ILLEGAL.  If they are calling OUTSIDE your state to you, then contact the State Attorney General's office for both PA and the state you are in.  Contact the Interstate Commerce Commission as well.

Now, when the phone rings and you say, "hello" and they respond with a delay, then  throw them off-balance by saying "I said hello; now it's your turn."  They will give you this aggressive shouting.  Respond with I don't speak with uncivilized people.   And hang up.  They yell.  Hang up.  It's pure intimidation.  That's all.  Don't fall for it.  They pretend to be a lawfirm.  They aren't.  A law firm doesn't call you...they send letters by certified mail that you have to sign for.

DO NOT ADMIT to the name they're calling.  In point of fact, the bimbo who called me tried three variations of a name before I laughed and said...keep trying, honey, and hung up.

The best is to respond with your city or county DA's office.  That will end the harassment quickly.

They are con-artists hoping they call sombody with actuall debt that would give them their banking and other personal information. Keep records of these calls if posible and contact a lawyer and your State Atturney General for assistance. Not only are they trying to obtain your information but they will also continue calling at all hours of the day and will use fowl language which is harassment. You can also contact your local police department and charge them with harrasment.

Tate and Kirlin called on a legitimate debt I owed for HSBC Credit Card. They were very friendly and settled for 25% of what I owed. The debt was from a chargeoff credit card from last year. They sent the letter first and then I paid.

these people looked up my name in the phone book trying to find someone else. These people do not leave messages and call and call. There must be some legal defense against these intrusions. A nice fat fine would be nice.

I just got the call..the guy called me names and told me to shut up. He said he calls the shots and that I was not able to ask him questions. I called him an idiot and hung up. I have no outstanding debt if this is why this place is calling. Next time they call just put them on hold and then ignore the call. Or answer the call saying this is "Davenport Police Department May I help you" and then somehow get disconnected... this way they mark it down as the wrong number.

Just got one of these... left a voice message on my VoIP phone. Not planning on calling them back. I have LifeLock and am not concerned about someone messing up my credit. LifeLock works like a charm if you have any concerns about your credit. I have great credit and have no default acccounts. Seems like they are just trolling for working numbers or someone who did rack up bad debt used my number as a contact point. They asked for a person named RJ someone I think. Let them call all they want... like water off a ducks back....

I have filed a report and now they are calling during work, on other peoples cell phones. This is definitely an illegal practice. see the State Attorney General page. They say they are a third party...right. Please file a report with the State Attorney General. Please set up trace on your phone with the cell or phone company to document and put an end to this now.

BEWARE! This company is going by MULTIPLE names and phone numbers harrassing people with their 'abandoned' and/or nasty calls all day long! I've had as many as 22 calls per day, no message left. I URGE everyone to file an online complaint form (very easy) with 'your' STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL office! Being on the Do Not Call list is useless!

You can set up a cheap voice mail system on your landline. In fact it makes a land line more functional than a cell phone in this case because cell phones typically have limited or no voice mail capability, let alone one that can password protect your land line like a cheap voice mail system does. These people have been calling me because my sister racked up a ton of debt. She does NOT live in this household. I only know these people are calling me because I checked my logs and found this interesting phone number in it, same the other day but a different number, and I looked both up here and possibly elsewhere. I LOVE my password protected land line phone, password protected by a cheap voice mail system I originally set up to eliminate solicitors, and it works beautifully for practically everything, cheap voice mail that is. I only get these numbers from my logs ever since I set up my cheap voice mail system. I am bulletproof - no more solicitors and no collection agencies especially since I have no debt (sister lives 12 miles away and is the only reason these folks (or should I say jerks) are calling me. Good seeing you!

Hmph--they can call me until their fingers wear out, I'm not answering. We don't owe anything on any debts that have gone to a collection company, so add this to the list of harrassment cases here.

Just finished an incredibly obnoxious call with these people. After seeing multiple instances of their number on my caller ID for the past two weeks or so, they finally caught me when I was home and I decided to answer. They are claiming I owe a debt to a bank that I have NEVER had an account with in my life. When I asked for more information, she became exceedingly rude. I calmly told her to send all information by mail and not to contact me by phone any more, to which she replied, "I'm gonna keep calling." I am pretty sure it is illegal to continue calling once the receiving party has requested it be stopped.

I have done my banking with the same institution for almost 15 years and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have no outstanding debts (I have only had two instances of collections in my entire life; they were both medical and they were both settled back in the mid 90s). Now I'm concerned someone might be racking up debt under my name somehow.

I got a call from this number and when I answered it, they just hung up. I searched the internet for where it came from and found that it was out of Philly. Then I found this place.

Why is a collection agency calling me--someone who has never been in debt? And states away from where their land-line is connected?
