I am getting the same calls from this number (616)988-6492 and on the caller id says "US Exchange"..so I looked up this # and it sounds like another scam

The number and company name were faked. If you can't contact them and you can't tell the FCC who to inquire of or to whom a fine should be levied. DNC is a waste of time.

I randomly tap hard on the microphone, and when they ask about the noise, I say it must be a bad connection. Wadding up paper works, too. Then ask them to call you back. Or ask for a number. Or keep hitting the microphone. Who cares. It's an aggravation to them!

I have asked for a callback number and they give Visa's 800 number. What a bunch of scam artists.

These are scammers and some are lower than that on the shady scale..  Block the fricking number / numbers from this area code as they are using several different last four digits in their numbers.

Here's a suggestion........   Find out and give them the phone # of your Atty General....

The Caller ID for "Lower Your Pmnt" should be Lower Your Bank Account. Scammers that violate The Federal and State DNC list shout out that they are up to no good. They can not dodge the laws by saying that you have done business with them or that they are a not for profit. A crook is a crook is a crook.

These idiots call both my home number and both of my cell numbers.. we have followed the prompts the thing gives us to be removed, we are on both the national and the state do no call lists.. and I have filed complaints with the FCC.. They still call... next complaint will be to the AG's office.. Surely someone can put these people in jail.  When you press 1 and speak to them and ask them to remove you they get rude, they yell and they hang up on you.. this is wrong.. Wonder if its a jail scam?  Its a scam anyhow, so why can't the cops go after them?

They keep calling trying to get credit card numbers and have been told it is a do not call number multiple times.

Got a call from this "company" and let the answering machine take it, they left no message.

Got a call from 269-288-0172 and let it go to vm.  No message left..so I *82d the number and pressed their #1 to be removed from their call list.  We, too, are on the DNC list.

I did as one of the above replies suggested and called the number back. A man answered and said if I wanted to be placed on the Do Not Call List to press 1 which I did.

I use an ordinary whistle and blow in phone.

Got this call three days ago.  Caller ID sais "Utah"  I pressed 1 to tell them that I want my name off their list.  They hung up before I could finish talking.  Called again today and caller ID said "Lower Your Payment".   pressed 1 and proceeded to tell them  not to call me, but was again hung up on. Another website says they are out of Battlecreek, Michigan.

I keep banging a key chain on the microphone intermittently to annoy them. It's really great to hear them become annoyed and miss the beat with their schpeil. Even better when they figure out it's intentional. Sometimes I just ask them to let me call them back. The give me the number to Visa. What fun.

I have registered all my #'s with the DO NOT CALL list, It isn't working. I want these calls to STOP! I have experienced what EVERY other person has posted here re: these calls. They come from several different #'s but all say this is the Last Chance to lower your rates etc. It obviously is NOT the last chance since they keep calling - I have tried the #3 to have my # removed I have tried calling the # back and requesting info re: the company/service -they are VERY rude and hang up when they don't want to answer my questions - I have tried ignoring them - THEY KEEP CALLING no matter what you do!  I also work from home and this is extremely disruptive since I hesitate to not answer a call I don't recognize in case it is a customer or some way business related!
What more can I/we do to put an end to these harassing and rude intrusions into our life!

Like all others, DNC violation.  Guess government policy means nothing to anyone anymore except to the honest people who try to live their lives without harming or harrassing anyone.  Like some of the ideas I have heard here.  This honest person is ready to fight back.

If you call the number back, the message says "press 1 to be placed on our DO NOT CALL list" when you press 1 it says"please allow 24 hours for your request to be processed"  We will see

I work for a National Bank.  I have caller ID and the name of the financial co name must display on the caller ID the phone number above doesn't.  Do not give any information.  Block the number.

Please stop these unwanted calls...they keep changing their numbers, but its the same caller.

We are on do not call list; it does not work for these people.  Should be able to sue for harrassment.

These people are getting on my LAST nerves. They call over and over again. We are on DNC, AND I have listened to their stupid little message and was SUPPOSEDLY taken off their call list. At first it wa kinda funny since we have never owned a credit card. But now it's just plain annoying. They call at all times of the day, very early in the morning, very late at night, during supper and whenever else. I'm sick of it.

Yeah I usually tell them that they called me on my office phone. I sound real interested in what they have to offer so I tell them to call me back on my home number and proceed to give them the number to my local FBI  field office. They never call back and I notice after a few days people stop complaining about calls on certain threads. Works every time. If everyone would do this, we would stop a lot of this nonsense.

I suspect that they are using the stolen money to finance terrorism operations or it could be fugitives on the run from law enforcement stealing to survive because they know they can't get a legit job while on the run. I knew of a scheme where inmates were using cell phones to con people via western union transfers because they can transfer the money to their prison phone and commissary accounts via WU. Sometimes they have a relative on the outside conning the money for them. Our authorities need to crack down on this nonsense.

They are calling from overseas, sometimes Romania, Nigeria, Philippines, India possibly Iran. They are spoofing their caller id. Have the phone company run a trace on the call. They may be connecting via VOIP gateway through networks like TOR so they can hide themselves. If they use proxies or TOR you won't find them, easily.

Just got a call from these d**chebags too. Caller-ID says "Battle Creek MI".  I used tothepoint's link to the FTC but got redirected back to the DNC Registry site to file my complaint.  Complaint filed.
