PLEASE READ FULLY
? Tim Woodcox

Bro,

I am Tim Woodcox, I am writing today not to argue, but to defend myself or clarify since I feel like I feel that I am being personally attacked by people who I have never met. I have noticed my name brought up in a negative manner on the internet so I am simply acknowledging this post for anyone who comes across it even though these blogs entries are always ?unknown? authors, or unanimous posts. I will state who I am & how to contact me.

The author of this original complaint/post also points out that I (Tim Woodcox) am a registered sex offender with the state of Michigan. This part is true! I assume that they are pointing this fact out hoping it means that no one on earth would ever do business, associate with me, or trust me? I am guessing that they are jumping to the conclusion that I am a rapist or child molester since I am on that list when the fact is.... that couldn't be further from the truth. May I please tell you ?WHY? I am on that list?

As of August 2011, I am 32 years old, & married with kids. When I was 22, going to college, I was also already a father who had two jobs to pay for my son, pay for college, & paying to live on my own with college roommates who I met at GVSU.  One night when my son was at his Mom's, one of my roommates & his buddy brought two girls over to my apartment. The girls asked him if they could come over. When the females got to my apartment I should have checked their I.D.'s & kicked them out of my apartment because then I would have known that they weren't the age that they appeared to be physically based on how they dressed.

After the girls got in trouble from their parents for being out to late, their parents came after us guys for their daughters being out to late, drinking, & acting older than they were. I should have never let them hangout at my apartment! In doing so I broke the law.

When the police got involved I co-operated 100% before getting a lawyer. I SHOULD have gotten my parents & a good lawyer involved immediately. Instead "I" myself did a whole 5 minutes of research & made some stupid decisions on what to do legally. I told the police what happened & in doing so I convicted myself before even getting a lawyer. I took a plea for "contact of a minor? which was a CSC4 degree & now considered Tier II offender. All because I WAS STUPID. I was stupid that night they came over & I was stupid the way I handled it legally. I think & stress about it everyday even 10 years later. For my business & mostly for my kids, I stress about it asking myself so many ?what ifs?.

So yes I am registered on Michigan's SOR just like the author points out (**Tim Woodcox is a registered sex offender with the state of Michigan** below you can see the states information on him: http://www.mipsor.state.mi.us/PSORSearchDetails.aspx?oid=12715437)

There original author of this Rip off Report complaint also points out this blog: (Here is a blog which discusses the scam as a whole.  http://symmetryemploymentscam.wordpress.com)

At that blog you will find much of the same stuff about me. That I am a registered sex offender AND that I filed a bankruptcy a few years ago. I know it doesn?t matter what I say or write here, but for the record or whatever it?s worth, the bankruptcy had nothing to do with Symmetry or my business with in Symmetry. There were many factors that suggested my wife & I file for bankruptcy when we did, from TONS of legal bills, medical bills, two different large investments I made against better judgment that ended up falling through. I could say I got scammed but instead I will ?own it? I just say I was stupid in my early 20?s with how I spent money. My parents & mentors in Symmetry told me not to spend my money the wrong way, but I was young & making a little money so I didn?t listen to them at the time. There was some other family things that happened that were out of mine & my wife?s control so we were advised by out lawyers that a bankruptcy was the best option to keep our business & keep her on her path for her career as well. I am glad to say that we weathered that storm & I wish it on NO ONE!

As you may have also read, the author above says:  "I called back and told Peri that I would not be meeting with her." So like MOST people who have taken the time to write or read a complaint on the internet, this author has never even met me or Peri for that matter. They just took other people's posts & added more opinion to it. Good thing we don't do that with movies. Usually I choose to go to the movie or meet the actor before I pass judgment on it or them.

I want to make it clear that I am not attacking anyone here. That is not the point of my response. I am simply responding to this for the sake of my wife, my kids, my family, friends, & other Symmetry reps who?s business? may have or may be negatively affected based on my past. My friends & family get so upset reading stuff like this because they believe after spending time with me, getting to know me, & knowing who I am & what I am about.... that I am one of the nicest people they know. I have a big heart & it does hurt to see people write stuff like this on-line. It hurts to see me kids hurt by this.

I have always had an open door & open line of communication for anyone who has any concerns about me or how "I" go about business with my personal customers, business partners, friends, family, & associates.

I would like anyone who has something negative so write, or has had a negative experience with me personally, to please confront me personally & provide PROOF that I knowingly wronged them or hurt them (Proof, is not what some un-named person who I have never met writes on the internet). I will always leave my contact info to resolve issues. If my phone numbers or email address ever changes I will be sure to make it available. I just ask anyone who has a complaint to do that same before you personally attack me by saying I scam people or hurt people. Ask be about it directly! I do my absolute best to be fair & open with people just like I ask my kids to do as they grow up.

I love my family & I love being a part of Symmetry as a company. I was introduced to this business by a stranger when I was in college working two jobs living check to check. Someone gave me a chance to get my questions/skepticism answered. They brought me into a local office/training center in Grand Rapids Michigan. I started in Symmetry in 2002 & I'm happier today than I've been in a long time. I didn't know anything about this company or the people in it until I sat down with them in person.  I tried the products & liked them. The people I personally met in person were nice to me & didn't shy away from any question I had. Once I took the time to get my questions answered the philosophy of this business made sense to me. They helped me make good part-time income while I was still in college & working two jobs. Those same people have become great friends! I went to their wedding years later & they were invited to mine. Being on pregnant & on bed rest is the only thing that stopped them from attending my wedding. Today (August 8, 2011 I have been with Symmetry for almost nine years. I have not had to work a job since around 2004 or 2005. This business is my life. I believe we are healthy & financially stable because of this business. I have never been unemployed or had to collected an unemployment check from our government, or asked for state assistance while working with Symmetry as an independent business partner. My income in Symmetry supports me, my wife & kids as our primary income. It?s the only career/income I have had since I was 25. What?s my point you might ask?

My point is this? before I came in to see this company & how their products worked, how the company really operated, & who the people I would be working with, how they went about day to day business, & what opportunities were available to me, I was just like you or any person reading this. Also just like the author who wrote this original complaint, I really didn?t have any first hand knowledge or facts about the company, the products, the locally office, of the person who invited me to look at the opportunity. The difference was, I wanted to do my one due diligence & not listen to what a blog or a hand full of people on the internet had to say one way or the other. Back when I started I didn?t know much about blogs & complaint websites. But I did however have some family & friends tell me it would be a waste of time or a scam. I just wanted to see for myself & it worked out.

As for the bankruptcy & sex offender registry?. I am doing my best to educate my two boys & raise their awareness levels to a level that is higher than mine was at their ages. My oldest son will be going to college if he chooses in five years. It scares that crap out of me the mistakes college kids make. Heck, what I did wrong, I saw other boys/kids/girls/ teenagers/ young adults do at most high school parties in the late 90?s. Every High School & College party has people who don?t really know the ages of each person there. Today parenting is more than just a birds & bee?s talk with kids these days. With texting, & the internet? there is no parent book for that. I can only pray for & communicate with my kids as much as they will listen.

For those of you who think every person on the sex offender registry is a child molester or rapist, they are not! If you think that every person on the sex offender list are dirty creepers.... don?t worry, I am not allowed to coach your kids (or mine!!) or live near their school because I am on that same list. That is worse than anything anyone can write about me on the internet.

I grew up LOVING sports & then I coached, hoping to coach my own boys someday. Now, that will never happen because I am on ?THE LIST.? I couldn?t tell a females age by her looks in college & her parents needed someone to blame. I changed mine & my kid?s lives forever that day. As the old saying goes?. I wash I knew then, what I know now. I don?t think those females even knew how serious of a charge they were part of. What?s done is done & can?t be changed. It?s sad for everyone who has been affected.

I am so thankful I am not the first person in Michigan to file bankruptcy & recover from it. I also won?t be the last. It?s given me & my wife a new perspective on life & to appreciate what we have. They say the more mistakes you make the closer to success you are & the more wisdom you earn. Well, I hope that is true because that means maybe, just maybe someday I will be smart!

I am pretty sure that someone will take my words & statements out of context here, as I have seen it happen before. Sometimes you?re damned if you do & you?re damned it you don?t. When I ignore posts like this I get accused to of addressing the issues. When I have tried to address them in the past, my responses have either been removed (depending on the site or blog), or called lies & twisted more and more. When some un-named poster supports a negative comment it seems to be taken as truth but when ?I?, the person being called a scammer or liar, responds I?m just called more bad things. That is a fact. I am writing this for me & the people I know. I am not writing this for someone who just wants to trash me or Symmetry on their blog. If you took the time to read this entire (long) response, I thank you for your time.

I honestly, from the bottom of my heart feel that if/ when you meet me, you?ll see the truth. I think you will like me. Even some Ohio State fans like me! ?

Thank you for your time, I apologize for the bad spelling & grammar. I went to kindergarten twice, had a kid in High School, & dropped out of college after almost four years. My Dad has his masters in English & one of my little sisters is a Spanish teacher. They both just shake their heads when I try to type or write ha ha ha. I?m sure there are many mistakes in the post when it comes to grammar & spelling.

This is the year the Detroit Lions win it all?..maybe?.. I hope!
~Tim Woodcox

I received a call from someone named Cheryl asking for my son, a WMU student yesterday. She stated she was from West Mac and wanted to talk to him about doing some design work. The call came in from 269-342-5770. He wondered how someone got our home phone #. Maybe they are using a WMU directory or listing.

I am Tim Woodcox. If you have not personally met me, you don't have an opinion of me. If you have personally met me, you are entitled to your opinion of me. If not feel free to call me directly 616-249-3155. I would be glad to meet face to face with anyone who has questions about me, my character, or the company I work with. I started this business as a single Dad in college while at GVSU. I have been with the same company since 2002. Today I'm married & a proud father of two and I am also proud of the business I represent. Yes I work at 900 47th St. Yes it is a Wellness Center. Yes I am a certified nutrition consultant. I realize that MOST of the people who comment on sites like this have never been to one of our offices or met me personally but continue to use my name. Please understand its way easier to be negative than positive in todays world. Its also way easier to hide behind a computer & remain faceless with the internet today in 2009. If you have any questions, you have my address & phone number. Thank You, have a great day!!

Here is my email address timwoodcox@yahoo.com. I hope anyone who feels the need to use my name on the internet also makes the time and is able to contact me directly with any questions or concerns.

I got a phone number from a different number but pretty much the EXACT story.... The caller (Scott) didn't answer at first, was unclear about the company, position and duties.

All these comments have made me very nervous. Has ANYONE gone to the interview, or has everyone cancelled?

I am really confused, and also don't want to get murdered at some bogus job interview.

I recieved an add on my car saying, Summer Cash- I thought it was one of those Vector marketing scams but sometimes they are legitamate. Tomorrow I will go in for the interview and let everyone know what happens and will nto give them any info or pay any money and maybe ill have a camera on or somehting during the interview. I live at the landing and it was Jenna that I spoke to after playing phone tag for a couple of days. She states that she was in the army reserves when we were talking about health and welfare..... I will hopefully like to break this scam- not cool hu? She also called from 269-382-0375. I live at the Landing on West Main and thats where she got the cars. The add is a yellow piece of sticky paper and states on it, "Summer Cash!    If you have an extra 8-12 hours per week and desire to earn an extra 800-1000 per month, Contact Jennat 269 392-0375, Flexible hours- no experience necessary- will train!"

Last time I checked it is illegal to call and offer people employment and misrepresent yourself if you are an MLM company. These people are blatantly calling to see if you are looking for full or part time employment, they invite you to an "interview" which is a high pressure sales scam!

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/350/RipOff0350943.htm
Read it and weep people.

And from the website JOSH posted: www.kcwc.info:

"We are currently expanding in the area! We represent manufactures in the health and wellness industry through independent business partners. An overview not an interview so you?ll get a chance to meet a few of our associates and get more facts and information about our company. Plan on about 30 minutes to an hour for our appointment. Call for an appointment today!"

Clearly these interviews are false statements as they make the claim that an "overview" is not an interview, but they invite people to one.

These people wasted 3 hours of my time one day, before I threw a hissy fit and finally screamed and caused a scene to get out of there.

I sent a complaint to the local news station and gave them the reported numbers for WestMac and told them they should do an undercover investigation.

According to other websites, Tim Woodcox is the owner of the store, office, whatever, and he should be held responsible.

I encourage ANYONE contacted by this company to call the police and the Michigan State Attorney General's office. They are operating this scam in Kzoo, Grand Rapids, Pontiac, and Lansing. They clearly need to be stopped.

Well I thought it was weird that I received a phone call today from Brady at 381-8381. He was wondering if I needed part time/full time employment. I said yes considering I am a college student trying to make more money. I asked did I sign up for anything and he told me I was referred but he did not have the papers in front of him. I was very persistent on what this company did he claimed it was a health & wellness company. I also kept asking what I would be doing, his answer was very vague. I was still confused on the location so I typed in the address and this link came up. I called to cancel my interview for tomorrow. Thanks for all the info.

I have been to an "interview."

Basically what happens is that you go into a room filled with other people dressed up with a theatre like setting. You watch a video about a great life oportunity. Then they introduce their vitamins and other health products. (That have no merit from the FDA)

Once that is done, they pull you aside individually and try to pressure you into selling thier products and joining up, as well as signing up for a weekend in Chicago to attend "University of Success"- their answer to the Amway weekend hype events.

It was a total waste of my time, and I told the guy so who called me. These people need to be shut down by the FTC. Clearly this is illegal.

I just received a call earlier from John Barton 870.8074 and he had me really interested in some kind of a health part-time job where I could use my holistics degree....I am obviously not going to the interview that I scheduled tomorrow at 6:30 but I am going to drive by the office building bc it is pretty close and see what it is all about....does anyone know what the next step would be to stop these people from whatever they are doing?
I am not even sure what would happen if someone were to go to the interview? Do they just scam you into doing something?
This is all so odd!?

They called me at 10:50am today. Name John Barton. Told me WMAC. 5100 S. Sprinkle, Bldg 5148. He said it was a job in teaching, training and recruiting. This whole thing sounds like a perfume scam I was involved with over in Detroit, but a lot worse. He asked me the same type of questions everyone else here is saying. I've seen the yellow post it stickers on cars in the area and campus as well. I knew those were bogus. I am also a WMU Alumni. I hope someone out there has a police report filed, at least with Campus police. He made me an appt for tomorrow at 6pm. My car is shotty and I decided to come here and look it up. Thanks for the info. Not going to show up or call now. Hope they get the point! Yay for the internet helping unsuspecting job hunters like us!

I have been to an "interview."
You go in and there is no reception area to speak of, and there are about 20 other well dressed people. You sign in, and people will come and grab others in the waiting area about 3 at a time, and sit you in front of a large white board, television, and vitamin products. They then have you watch an overhyped video from the 80's, and talk about a high roller way of life, and try to get you to drop $300 on products, and $300 on a weekend trip to Chicago on the spot.

It's not an interview, and this is NOT employment. And for the record: their products have no merit from the FDA

I recieved a phone call from "Jenna." I never picked up and she left a voicemail saying she recently recieved my resume and is looking to fill part time full time positions, to call her back and set up an interview time.  When she said the company "West Michgian Advanced Concepts", that was when I had a sneaky suspicion the company was fake.  First off I never applied or heard of such a company, and secondly, how the hell did they get my resume let alone phone number?  This Barton kid is obviously a Western Student who has easy access to the student directory.  If they ever call again I would call the cops...what they are doing is illegal and should be stopped!

I was called last week and asked if I would like a full or part time job with the same supposed West Michigan Advanced Concepts.  The caller Jenna stated the same information as the previous posts. I also decided to search for the company and found nothing.  Especially since she said the Health and Wellness Direct Marketing Company has been around for 12 years, you would think there would be some available information.  As this is a scam, I found some more information on the Better Business Bureau website, and I found that the BBB has requested basic information from this company and has not received a response. They are not a BBB Accredited business... don't go to any interviews or else you will be scammed.

This company is NOT WMAC. It is Symmetry Direct. They are operating this way all over the United States, and it's really disappointing. They are a scam, there is no "interview" and this is not a job!

Just so that everyone knows, i chickened out on the interview, from the sound of it, it is a huge scam (i'm also a WMU Student).  I was going to reschedule for a different time, and the guy i talked to was pissed!!!! saying something about how he had to go to chicago that weekend, and that i needed to really try to come in that day.  I told him i wasn't interested anymore.  Anyone who gets pissed when you cancell an appointment isn't worth my time. How are they getting our numbers?  I thought that the school wasn't supposed give out our info.
