Calls seemed to have stopped from these numbers. I contacted the FTC and local providers to complain. Let's hope these idiots are gone now.
THESE PEOPLE CALL CONTINUOUSLY THROUGH THE DAY. TRYING TO GET ME TO PURCHASE A APPLICATION FOR GRANT MONEY
PS: or maybe a class action suit? Any legal actions that they may wish to pursue cannot be dealt with over the phone w/you anyway. All legal pursuits should be conducted via mail, especially since you're on do not call lists and there is paperwork involved pursuing collections anyway. This is pure harrassment best of luck all.
I have a suggestion. Answer your phones so that a connection is made, then UNPLUG YOUR HANDSET FROM THE PHONE FOR PRIVACY AND LEAVE THE PHONE OFF THE HOOK TO RUN UP THEIR BILLS AND JAM THEIR TELEPHONE NETWORK. dO IT EVERY TIME THEY CALL FOR AT LEAST A WEEK. If you have a cell phone it won't even be inconvenient. As many as they are calling should make a NICE logjam when you all pick up and refuse to cut their long distance line to let them off, it also blocks them from calling back of course. Our phone has a button to turn off the ringer, I'd be using that too, if I were ya'll. I'd try calling the phone company and the DO NOT CALL network too. This is quite illegal.
They are a subsidiary of Convergys Corporation which handles Dell accounts. What you need to do is write a letter to the company telling them to cease and desist all phone calls to your phone number (and list that phone number in the letter) and send it by either certified or registered mail (the one that requires a signature and you get a slip back showing proof that they received it). Once they receive that, they can no longer legally call the phone number(s) you list in that letter.

SAME THING HERE AS ALL THE ABOVE!! I HAVE RECIEVED 10 CALLS SO FAR THIS MORNING BETWEEN 6:00 AM AND 10:00 AM 4 HOURS AND TEN PHONE CALLS!! IT IS ABSURD!! NORMALLY THE VOICEMAIL THEY LEAVE IS AN AUTOMATED ONE AND GIVES ME A NUMBER TO CALL BACK WHEN CALLING THAT NUMBER YOU GET ONLY AUTOMATED HELP AND EVEN CHOOSING THEIR OPTIONS DOESN'T HELP!! I WORK AT A DISPATCH CENTER FOR THE SHERIFFS OFFICE IN MY TOWN AND SO TODAY AT WORK I DECIDED TO ANSWER THE NEXT CALL I GOT AND PRESS THE OPTION TO GET ME TO A PERSON I HAD MY PHONE TIMER GOING AND TURNED MY PHONE ON SPEAKER WHILE WORKING AFTER 25 MINUTES I HAD HAD ENOUGH!! IF SOMEONE CALLS ME AND WANTS TO SPEAK TO ME ABOUT A DEBT THAT IS FINE BUT THEY ARE HARRASSING AND TO NOT ANSWER MY CALLS BACK TO THEM IS JUST IGNORANT! PLEASE IF THEY ARE CALLING YOU WE NEED TO JOIN TOGETHER TO STOP THIS COMPANY CALL YOUR STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL ALSO WRITE THE COMPANY AND TEL THEM TO ONLY TRANSMIT MESSAGES VIA MAIL ALSO FLOOD THE COMPANY'S CONTACT US PAGE WITH EMAILS REGARDING THEIR HARRASSMENT AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL GET STOPPED! This company has called my number more than 38 times since 12/9/2007 - just three days ago.
They call me 7 days a week 24 hours a day and I have even told them I have turned them over to an attorney but it does not stop. Please hekp.
I have had mutiple calls from these people that started last month in Sept- Oct. Unfortinatly I am pass due on some bills but I am out on a disability. So I called the company that I thought may have sold the account to them, they never did since I had made payment arrangments to get caught up. ERMI calls from 8 am to 10-11 at night and all the reps that call call from INDIA and they barely speak english.
SC law states as long as I speak to the company or creditor once in that day they are NOT ALLOWED BY LAW TO CALL AGAIN. they kept calling woke my kids up that night, the next day they called every hour and when I spoke to them they threatened me. the calls there after have been harrasing since. I filed a complaint with BBB in Kansas since this is were they are located at and ERMI has not responded they have until, NOv 15 . So the last time they called I asked if it was in regards to the complaint they said no and threatened to take me to court for thousands of dollars and put it on my credit report take my federal taxes etc.. I hung up of course in tears no less and yet they still called I called my phone company and finally had them blocked.
I wish some one could do something or better yet a lawyer that is willing to take on this company.
ERMI is now using 703-656-9960 to harrass people. I have been getting calls all day long and on weekends. I did get behind on my Sam's Club credit card so I have cut it up and they have lost my business. Because Wal-Mart is the parent company I don't shop there anymore. Boycott them.
I started gettin calls from this number on June 22, they started at 11:12 a.m., 02:52 p.m., 04:10 p.m., 06:09 p.m.,07:37 p.m., 08:19 p.m., 08:41 p.m. I did not answer all of them because at 11:12 I had the ringer on the phone off, but after that I answer some of them and there was no body on the line, it was silence. It is really annoying. I called the number back and got a busy signal.
This number calls me constantly. Most of the time I just get a machine that says "this message is for nicole -her last name?- please call me back at -a different phone number-" and gives me three options. If I don't answer, it just leaves that as a message. I always try calling back but I just get a machine telling me it's busy. When a man calls me from that number, he asks for nicole (whoever that is) I tell him that I don't know the person he's looking for and not to call, but I'm constantly getting these calls. I've been getting them since the first day i got my cell phone. It wakes me up early in the morning, bothers me while I'm eating, or wakes me up at night while I'm sleeping.
Oh my. I decided to "google" this number that has been calling my fiance's cell phone repeatedly and this site is what came up. I know they cannot be calling him to collect a debt because he has only 2 credit cards and they both have very little used credit on them and are not behind at all. They call visciously. He also has had to put his cell on silent because it was ringing all day long at work. He answers and they do not speak. They do not leave voicemail. The really weird thing is that although they do not call from a blocked number, the call does not show up on our cell bill at all. Usually I can login and see all the numbers that were dialed or that called us, sometimes even people who have blocked their number still show up. This number does not come up at all and is not on the billing log even as a blocked number! What's up with that?! When we try to call the number, it is a dead line...loud static on the other end.. I think if we all make enough complaints to the proper agency, it will do some good and they will at least get fined. Be sure to include as much detail as possible when you file your complaint! Hopefully these calls will stop.

They call day and night and there is no way to talk to them to tell them to stop. They have the wrong number and i would love to tell them, but i cant get them on the phone.
These people called me 40 = times in the past week, when I answer, they only say that they have an important message for some guy, and then it clicks and disconnects, I treid calling the number back but they say the circuits are all busy
I am on the National Do Not Call List and the State Do Not Call List, yet receive 9-10 calls a day from this number 269-820-0940 and its partner who does the exact same thing 248-605-0963 the caller ID says ERMI, I am not sure who that is but when I try to return their call I get the sound of a phone that is disconnected or no longer in service no one will answer when they call me. I am extremely aggravated and want these calls to stop. Does anyone know how many times a phone number or person can call and harrass you a day, I know there is a law about it. This one goes on and on beyond belief.
ERMI 269-820-0940 On caller ID. Several times a day, usually in pairs, about 6 minutes apart.
They call all times of the day and night for weeks. When I answer there is no one there or they hang up. I tried calling the number back but got a message saying the lines are busy. Well no wonder!! Everybody must be trying to call back this number because of getting the same treatment of someone calling you all the time. The government likes to "protect" people from harrassement so they say; why don't they do something or give people an option to protect themselves against these kind of predators.

Ditto on all the above complaints. They have been calling for a couple of weeks now. We have caller ID and an Answering Machine. They will hang up before it goes to the answering machine. So when I see ERMI listed I pick up the phone hold it for a few seconds then hang up. We don't answer our phone unless we know who is on the other end. It doesn't stop the calls but it sure slows them down to one every so often.
I am receiving a call from this number about 5 times a day, this is only the second day this has happened but for those of you who have been dealing with this for awhile, is there a way to make it stop? I have answered twice and both times the line was silent. Nothing at all, not a person or a recording....
These people are such a pain. They call about 4 or 5 times a day and dont say anything for about 5 seconds. They wont tell you who they are or what they do. Its sooooo annoying so just answer the phone so they have to pay for call and hang up or tell them a few choice words.
Au contraire to the disclosure policies. The FDCPA section 805 subsection (b) strictly prohibits communicating that the company type is a debt collector. Section 804 subsection (1) does require the company to disclose its business name if expressly asked by a third party. Collection agencies are not bound by the DNC list or the TCPA. There are protections that the FDCPA gives to wrong telephone numbers. Primarily, a collection agency should only communicate with a third party one time, unless granted permission for future communications. This would only apply if they have been informed that you are a third party and not the debtor they are looking for. Otherwise, the bonafide error defense in Section 813 subsection (c) would remove any actionable claim a person might have. However, the bonafide error defense doesn't always apply to administrative enforcement. (The AG can probably still admonish them) If your getting erroneous calls from a collection agency, the best bet is to inform them they have the wrong number and then take action if they continue to call. If they are calling the right person, you will need to submit your request for the termination of calls in writing. Collection agencies are not obligated to cease contact based on verbal requests. -OR- You can verbally tell them that it is only convenient to receive calls between 7:00pm and 7:20pm. Collection agencies are restricted from making calls during any time or place they have been informed to be inconvenient.
I have been receiving calls from the following number for weeks now....several times a day....it is extremely annoying!!!....please try to do something about this....I am not the only one....there are lots of people receiving these same calls....I do not answer such calls from my caller ID
Just an update. They called two more times in the evening of 5/11 (the dates above should have been 5/9 - 5/11). The second time I was able to get the caller pissed off enough that she transferred me to her manager (which I wanted). The manager identified herself as Brenda and said she removed my number. Since then no more calls from ERMI.
Oh my,,, it is good to know that I am not the only one that receives 9-10 phone calls a day from this company.. lol
It is driving me nuts! I just reported to DNCR. Hope this would help a little bit.
