Call asking for my husband...2nd one in 2 days.  I told them to remove us from the list, but they siad they didn't have to because they asked for my husband and he needs to ask to be removed.

This number 269-978-7296 has called my home 3-6 times every day for a couple of weeks.  Just once, they asked for my daughter, who is a newly registered voter.  When I explained that they would never reach her at my home, the called said, 'Ok, I'll try back later'.  My guess is that it's an Obamma polster trying to get a favorable response from a young new voter.

TADA!!!  I was right!!!  It is the democratic party for Garnet Lewis.  I had heard that the republican party members were on the average more intelligent than the Dems!!!  Again the person calling couldn't pronounce my son's name.

I just got the call from this number. There was an open line but no speaking.  I tried to *69 and after hanging up the phone repeatedly, line remained open with the 269-978-7296 number.

I'm speculating the call is politically based.  The mispronunciation of the party's name requested to speak to was unbelievable.  Anybody making "courtesy calls should take a second to try to figure out the name of the person they are calling.  These callers really come across as uneducated NEANDERTHALS. Must be democrats!!!  As my son is a registered Dem!!!

I just called that number back and got an answering service telling me that that mailbox is full :(

I just got a call from this number on my business line, I am female, the person on the other end just laughed this idiotic laugh.:(

They hung up on the answering machine.

After I posted, I reread your post and decided to call them back... sure enough... The Coalition for Progress.... and they said they'd been calling for my Husband and my Oldest daughter.  I'm not surprized after your post... they were both registered as republicans!
When I started asking questions, though, they didn't want to talk to me at all.  I told them not to call my number again and hung up.

Typical that the government would make themselves expemt from the Do Not Call law.  jerks.

I called the number back, and it was a call from the "coalition for progress."  This is a group primarilly funded by John Stryker to push his personal of gay rights.  He is dumping large amounts of money into the campaign to defeat republicans across the state.

Ummm...I believe you meant "Obama", right?  No need to mislead.

I just answered a call from them.  I got a real person (with a fair amount of background noise) in short order.  I am a woman, but it wasn't me they wanted.  They asked for my husband by name and said they would call back later when I said he wasn't in.

I have noticed that unless it is a straight "Recorded Message" then it is "unlisted name - unlisted number".  That ALL of the calls that come through even this # 269-978-7296, when I pick up the phone you at first someone us listening and then the line goes dead.  I have been plagued with them during this whole politacial season, from the Pri's on.  BUT the point being, the same # come up and my wife answeres, BINGO, she is talking with a real person.... They seem to target Women, if they hear or the computer detects a male voice it hangs up.  Have yet to receive a McCain call.... But call's to vote Osama.... up to a dozen, or more a day.

They called three times and no one was answering or talking when I answered. The fourth time my wife answered then someone responded talking politics.
