This # will NOT STOP calling. I donated once several years ago & a couple months later they called again. When I told them I had already donated they were so aggressive I figured it must be a SCAM! I am sick to death of the nonstop calls. I told them to STOP CALLING & they just won't stop. It is sickening!!! At one point they had a 502# for a while.

this is legit - called joe bear ashland fire dept. the president and he verified everything and answered all my questions - people should do more investigating before saying something is a scam

If the police is interested in getting some of these phone scams, then why don't they take action... Evidently, these people are using a pay phone, so why not stake this number out and catch those that are trying to take advantage of people, like the lady in this thread... What can I do to get this number blocked? What can you do to find the perpetrator?

I have never answered this number.  I don't answer my land line anymore because of sales calls, I only listen to the answering machine.  I figure if they're legit, they'll leave a message.
This number has called my phone 14 times (it keeps a counter), and has never left a message.  Apparently they're working the entire state of Ky.
Something needs to be done about this.
It's a shame I've had to abandon my home phone because of the harassment from salels calls.

Got a call from them last week and received their envelope this week.  In the meantime I tried the BBB and they said that they asked for info last year and never got anything back.  Tried a charity list online and couldn't find anything, although they said there are so many to keep track of they can't keep up.  This phone number was on their paper so I decided to look it up and landed here.  Am making copies of these pages and of my paper that they sent to me and will try to send it to Frankfort or where ever they take care of this sort of thing.

we are getting calls from this number and they have become abusive.  Man gave name as Joey from Firefighters.  Refused to speak with me, asked for my husband telling me it was private and none of my business then hung up on me.  This is giving the Firefighters in KY a bad rep!

This fellow requested funds for Paducah Fire Fighters Families.  When I told him my son is a Paducah Fireman he hung up!

This person calls every week.  When I answer they are too ignorant to respond.  Definately a scam they maybe stalkers   NEED to be reported to police and FCC.

I too just received a phone call from this number but I have been burned by giving to this fund before so let me advise others. You may THINK that you are giving to your local fire department to help your local firefighters, which I DID, and my husband is a retired firefighter of 26 years, but in FACT, you are not so if you feel as strongly about this as I do, tell them that when you answer. Then ask to be put on the DO NOT CALL LIST.

I, too, am on the Do Not Call List. Unfortunately they are using a loophole that allows non-profits (and politicians, BTW) to ignore this law.
I'm not defending them -- I absolutely HATE these exceptions (I have to take my phone off the hook for a week or two prior to an election). I'm just saying filing a complaint and/or legal action may be the only way to stop this abuse.

When I answered he said he was with the Firefighters Association.  I told him that I did not believe him and hung up.

This number keeps calling my house at night. When I answer it hangs up. When I call it back, can't tell what it is. I need this checked out. This must be a scam. I am on the no call list.

Well that is funny as this number has been calling me and hanging up.  I get so frustated about it.  So I will love for them to call my husband.  If they think he will give them grace that is the big big big mistake.  I just say no thank you. My son is in the military and we give thru the Uso he will not be so kind.  I thought that was the whole point of the do not call rule

Got a hang up call  on answering machine ,sounded like wind in the back ground.

We never, EVER, submit any info over the phone. And we rarely answer the phone when we don't recognize the ph number. I can always call back after we check our phone list.

I just received a call from this number....The man said they were raising money for fire prevention and for some other things......He wanted me to commit to certain amounts and said I would receive the envelope in the mail within 2 days and I needed to send it back in a week for there accounting dept...He asked me more questions then transfered me to someone else before the call ended...when I called the number back on another phone I got a recording and when I looked the number up online its a private number....

Since the person did not show up for the appointment. I think it could be someone that is trying to get your schedule of when you are at home.  Don't give them any information and don't give them your schedule.
Call the untilty company back and verify a time with them.

This is a person working for the utility company, she sets up a time to replace your meter boxes or energy saving devices that the utiltiy company installed on AC/ and water heaters.

If you dont have one of these devices you should not be receiving calls.

call came at supper time , saying they were a fire fighter asking for dontions to help people who have lost their homes to fire & no insurance.

I said no & they were not polite they just hung up  I'm sure it's a scam

Definately a telemarketer scammmm.  Numbers are automated, so when you answer it takes them a while to wake up and respond to your Hello..

Received this call from this number but was not home at the time. I have received this number 270-495-9432 several times before. All it says is that the caller is from Bowling Green.
