I got the Hi with my name but didn't respond. I hope this isn't a pattern of things yet to come!

The exact same thing happened to me. I got a text, "Hi Laren?"
I texted back, "Who's this?" and got no response.
The thing is, Laren is not my real name and no one who knows my real phone number would ever use that name when contacting me.
Until VERY recently, I didn't have a Facebook account at all, but signed up so I could advance in the Sims Freeplay game. I entered my cell phone number in order to validate something, but I was sure to make the setting 'private' and I deleted the number from my account IMMEDIATELY after the validation was complete.
I suspect that Facebook either has s****y security, or they are being the goddamn DEVIL. And I think that now that I have replied to the text, I have verified my number is a good working number.

Apparently its happened to a few people I know. Could be Facebook stalking maybe. Could be bigger, who knows, but for now it seems like harmless play.
