What makes it OK for these people to call individuals with whom they have never done business? This is not a political call per se, so is surely not exempt from the already toothless DNC List. Also, I don't appreciate anyone calling at 19:52, ever, unless someone's on fire or it's the Publishers' Clearing House (hint, hint).
STOP calling me several times a day...I am not going to answer...respect the DO NOT CALL list!!!
db who's Fed Up w/ Being Fed UP! (c)
WARNING: Lengthy post. If you choose to read it I hope you find it worthwhile given the pervasive insidiousness and arrogance of these jerks.
I use Selective Forwarding [ also referred to as Exclusive Forwarding ] to send the worst of my spammer / scammer phone aggravators to our State AG's Office... ';) But am seriously rethinking that after consideration of the following...
My system only allows 20 numbers for Selective Forwarding and so far I've received calls from the following four numbers all from the these jerks at Thoroughbred Research Group. All are listed in recent 800Notes threads. Listed by Number, CID Name, Date of 1st call, what one gets when they're called back.
270-650-9841 - Unavailable - 04-24-14? - when called back I get 'Call can't be completed'
270-643-0222 - THOROUGHBRED_RE ?- 04-28-14 - when called back I get 'Health Plan survey...'
239-673-5213 - THOROUGHBRED RE? - ?05-03-14 - when called back I get 'Thoroughbred Research Co., lv msg....'
270-650-2080 - THOROUGHBRED_RE - 05-07-14 - when called back I get 'Thoroughbred Research Co., lv msg....'
For those who may find calling back an issue, I'd point out that my CID is blocked so they can't track it.
Since they're using multiple numbers I'm cross posting this to the above four numbered threads which are still current. Numerous other number threads prior to late 2013 turned up on 800Notes in a 'Thoroughbred 800Notes.com' search indicating their use of multiple numbers which have been apparently discontinued at some point for whatever reason. Calling several of them got 'No longer in service'.
My searching turned up this very interesting post containing the following pertinent info as posted by 'don on 19 May 2012' at http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-270-450-0869/3 [ a number they seemed to have quit using RIGHT AFTER don's post since his is the last entry for that number ]. Also found it posted in several other places.

I have called all of these numbers and they are legit, in service, numbers. In the case of Jim, Brad and Mary, they actually answered, in other cases getting vm. I gave them the silent treatment as they give us.
I'm tempted to revise my Selective Forwarding number to one of them in lieu of my State AG's office. Perhaps if enough of us were to do this and tied one of their numbers up with our worst spam calls to include their own they'd get the hint to clean up their act.
From the above 'Thoroughbred 800Notes.com' search it appears their calls are currently only from the four numbers noted. Given they're presently limited to these four I'm inclined to sacrifice four of my Selective Forwarded numbers to include them. If they change up in the future it'll show up on the Scammers Call List I maintain and adjust my settings accordingly.
Which brings me to this discovery... priceless...

Greetings from Louisville!
Well apparently our fine firm of Market Research has offended many even before our ever-polite call staff can apologize. Sorry indeed, are we, that some will jump directly to profanity - not acting grown up at all. All one needs to do is say - on the phone - Sorry, I cannot perform a Market Research right now. Five seconds! Full service and field research used to be easier 20 years ago when adults acted like responsible adults. (Some of us blame the cellular phones and over-control of computerized devices for reducing the public's patience)
All Management is committed to sternly upbraiding staff who are not courteous - even in the face of a populace prepared to complain before even knowing about our well-earned exemption from the DNC.
If you are not charmed immediately by the honeyed words of our Paducah workers, I will be amazed. After all, we give them a few minutes to smoke, coffee, or 5-hour-energy snort Every Dang Day! Certainly, as Americans (even if we sound funny to some Northerners) our efficiency at preserving the Market System by detecting trends fads and fashions among you is a worthy Research!!
Calm down and do not complain. Your numbers are all permanently in the system. There are only so many hours a day each of you can be called. Relax and sip something appropriate, put Thouroughbred Research and/or Wilkerson Associates on a phone's speakerphone and have a party with us!
I remain, grandly yours,
Wilkerson Associates at (502) 459-3133 or (502) 753-5010
Caller: Thourough Re-sponse
Call Type: Survey

Research shows that Wilkerson Associates are / were one and the same as Thoroughbred Research Group... that 502-459-3133 is their main number, AND that 502-753-5010 is the number listed for and presently answered personally by Jim Lunger - Vice President Data Analytics, so it appears that Mr. Lunger may now hold the position once held by Mr. Wilkerson, but in any case is a REAL person at a REAL number for this bunch of aggravators.
Even better reason to turn their calls back on themselves.
Any takers? Given that Mr. Lunger's number is the same as this pompous a*** Wilkerson's was, I suggest that everyone who decides to boomerang calls on 'um to use his number...
And dontcha jes love their motto at http://www.torinc.net/... 'Preemptive. Proactive. Projective.' Arrggghhhhhhh!!
i am going to contact this person and put a stop to all these calls to our home as many as five or six a day,we are on the DNC but surveys skirt that. i am sick of these calls for something that we have no connection to or knowledge of. they call and hang up when you answer or hang up on the answering machine.
Call received at 9:15 pm (Central) on 4/25/14 Call was intercepted and blocked by my Sentry Call-Blocker.
By the way..the advice offered by NoVaGal on 4/21/2014 on this website is excellent...read it and save yourself

Remove our phone number from your list we are on the DO NOT call list
Claimed to be a national health care survey, but I had to ask 3 times to get that much out of the caller, who barely spoke English and, ironically, was sick and sniffling.
Got a call from them yesterday, which I picked up and hung up immediately, and then checked to see who they (purportedly) were.
Like many others, I'm leery of any call from a phone number and/or caller ID (and that includes caller IDs that I don't know). If these folks *are* from Thoroughbred Research they're doing surveys .. if they aren't (and are just spoofing the caller ID/number), they're trying to collect personal information to scam you.
Things you can do to avoid being scammed:
1) Don't answer phone calls from unfamiliar numbers/callers. Many times callers will hang up when you answer .. they're just trying to confirm the status of your number (whether it's "live") and will then resell it to others who want to spam or scam you.
2) Pickup and hangup immediately, so they can't confirm a "live" number (if you let it go to voicemail, they know the number is "live").
3) Don't call them back to see who was calling. Why confirm your number? In the worst case, the call will go to a line designed to run up charges on your phone bill.
4) Lookup the number (on this site or others) to see who was calling. If it was a legitimate call, you can call them back.
5) Find out how to block unwanted callers. Some service providers allow you to block calls (usually a small number). Panasonic has a phone that allows you to block much larger numbers. For those of you using computers, a program called Phone Tray Pro allows you to block huge amounts of numbers (at last count I've blocked over 500) by name, number, or partial number (i.e., 206-650-????)
I've been using Phone Tray for a couple of years now. because of the large number of scam/spam calls we receive. On an average month, 45-55% of our calls are people trying to sell us something, survey something, solicit funds (political, charitable or otherwise), or just collect info they can use to get to our finances. This month seems to be particularly prolific at 75% so far (does Spring bring out these folks?!?) Since I've started blocking calls, I have entire days untroubled by the irritation of dealing with unwanted callers.
Complaining here about the unwanted calls not blocked by the DNC (i.e., political, survey, charities) won't accomplish anything. If you want to complain, write to your representatives in DC and ask that they add those categories to the DNC so that law-abiding companies will get off your back and stop calling.
Note the phrase "law-abiding" above. The scammers and spammers who don't have regard for the law will call you anyway. So report them and/or block them.
Research group. was polite, but would not give call back number. If legitimate business, it should give a call back number so if someone is interested in doing a survey, they can call back when it is convenient to us.
We have a disabled person in the house and would appreciate it if this company would take me off their calling list!
I'm getting call from Thoroughbred-reach and know one answers when you pick it up. I just here someone breathing.
270-650-9841 ... 270-650-2080 ... 239-673-5213
these are all calls from "THROUGHBRED_RESEARCH"
idk who the f**k they are, just wish they would quit calling ... a**wipes ! !
270-650-2080 ... they also call from 239-673-5213 ... caller ID says "THROUGHBRED_RESEARCH"
idk who they are ... just wish a***ipes would quit calling
The reason people are on a "NO CALL" list is so unwanted calls aren't received. Not rocket science. It's not just a matter of someone trying to sell you something, it's a matter of someone you don't know, calling from a company you don't know, BOTHERING one at home, way after hours, when one is spending what previous little time one has with family. WTF?!
No, these people are not telemarketers. They are just calling your resident to ask a brief series of questions. In reality the people you should be cursing at is not the person on the line that is begging you to take their five minute survey in fear of losing their job at any moment, its the employers themselves. Within the horrible 3 months I worked there, I saw atleast over 100+ people be "let go". Elderly men and women, pregnant women, honestly it doesn't matter who you are or how good you are at your job....no matter how long you are employed by these unprofessionals, you will never have job security. So take pity on the interviewers. Their not the ones who have sold their soul.
Survey company. Called in the middle of the night to ask about my experience with vectren. Was very rude and hateful.
Not this call. The number they called is not published nor is it known to me. It's a land line # that came with a cablevision bundle. I have a phone hooked up to it in case I need it but I haven't used it and do not know the #. The last time I saw the # was when I put it on the Do Not Call list over a year ago.
270-650-9841 has called my house 4 times in the last 3 days. Nobody says anything when I answer the phone, no message is ever left.
I am going to file a complaint against Thoroughbred Research Group with the FCC and see what happens. If it is like the Do Not Call List nothing will happen but it might make me feel better. In the past 3 days I have received 7 calls, nobody on the line and I am sick of this. They are calling my business line. When will this STOP! This may force me to change phone numbers but it will only be a matter of time before it all starts again.
Just another invasion of our privacy for corporate profit. They call anytime, early or late and they change the numbers they call from if you try to block them!!! THE UNITED STATES OF CORPORATE AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They keep harassing me and they are causing me health issues. Maybe its time for legal action. They say they are above the law because they are not soliciting. I think they may be wrong. My health, time and opinions are of value and they are soliciting these without compensation to me. I say $1000.00 a call will cover my fees!!
Why post a fake number of you are so legit I asked the girl who she worked for she couldnt even answer so they gave the phone to someone else. Gave fake names and numbers complaint has been filed
Their system is computer based the computer dials and then beeps in the reps ear each client sets a number of rings they are allowed to let it ring then it disconeccts whether the rep would like it to or not
I have to agree with this post to some degree. I was a phone solocitor years ago and all I wanted was people to treat me with respect. I did have a real job - I was being paid to try and sell a product via the phone. If anyone wanted off the phone list, we removed them.
Caller iD said Mayfield, KY. Three calls in 2 days from Thoroughbred Research from three different numbers.
Other two are 239-673-5213 and 270-643-0222. They call all hours and days. So annoying.
I'd like to know how they got my cell phone number. I'm wondering if one of the apps I installed has sold them my number.
270-650-2080 has called me twice. They informed me that it was about a Medicare survey that they had sent to me. I have not filled out the forms and will not answer the questions by phone. I tried to call the # back, but no one answers the phone. Does anyone know who these people are? THANKS
All I want from you people is to STOP BOTHERING ME!! Received 2 calls from your company within a span of 5 minutes. I told the first caller to take me off your list and was told you are not subject to the Do Not Call Law. That is not what I said, I stated "Take me off your list". I am not interested in anything Thoroughbred Research is offering. This is harrassment and if it continues, I WILL report your company to the Better Business Bureau
I got a call from Thoroughbred RE ... I didn't pick up. Glad I checked here ... I won't answer if they call back again and again.
They called me again and 8:16PM and have called before. Never talk to them as they skew any polling anyway.
