I received a call today from 2706578766 with a Asian lady saying that the government was giving me a $7000 grant because I paid my taxes on time and I don't have a criminal record. She gave me a grant ID # and told me to call 2026979771 and told me I was calling William Walker and that he would handle everything else. I never called as I figured it was a scam.

This company called and I was suspicious so I did not answer. I tried to return the call and got a recording stating the number was disconnected.

Got this call from the 270-657-8766.  Didn't answer the first time.  Looked the number up online and found this complaint site.  After reading all of your comments, I figured I'd get another call from this number.  I changed my voice message to "This number is no longer a working number.  To reach this person, please call the new number at ###-###-####".  Figured I'd give it a week to see.  Used a phone number of a pay as you go phone that I used to keep in my ex-wife's car in case of an emergency.  Got a bite within the week.  Claimed to have US Gov money to give.  I played along.  They needed bank account info in order to process the money transfer, so I gave them my ex-wife's bank account information.  I slept very well that night.

Today, at my job I got this phone number to appear 270 657 8766 did not answer.  My company has the technology to trace the caller also note all phone calls are recorded for the world to hear.  Please who
ever you are calling my job your calls will be traced to your location.

I received the same call today.  I didn't apply for a loan or anything recently.  After the guy told me I was getting a $7,000 grant, I told him I didn't think his call was legitimate.  He said okay and hung up.  My husband works for the federal government and he's going to give this information to the FBI tomorrow.

I just got a call from them and Googled right away.  Glad I did.  I actually had applied for a Stafford loan just the other day and suddenly I get this call.  I think it's way to odd a coincidence and suspect they hacked my info while I was applying.  My computer detected information phishing software, scary though.  When I informed them I applied for a loan not a grant she asked me to repeat and I said it again and then she said "sorry", heard hundreds of people in the background at a call center most likely underground.

Got a call too from this number too, saying i was going to receive a $7,000 grant from the government, i thought it was okay until i started talking to some guy from Indiana accent, and ask my to send a money transfer of $280 dollars to Nepal, they started calling me again but i refuse to answer these calls

Fraud call, claiming to be from US government, awarding me with a GRANT, for heaven's sake, for paying my taxes on time, etc. NOT! As a former US government employee, I identified myself as such and asked the individual --Robert -- East Indian accent -- for the name of the agency he represented. He declined to answer. I indicated that I was not interested, and he persisted, became hostile at the suggestion of a fraud or scam. I requested to never be called again.

Within minutes, he called back and asked WHY, WHY WHY couldn't he call this number again, WHY did I think it was a fraud. When I indicated that I had already tried to call the number back and it would take no incoming calls, he hung up. In 10 minutes, he called AGAIN.

I told him I would report the activity to the FCC and the Department of Justice, and I surely will. Very defiantly, he exclaimed, "Report. Go ahead." THIS IS a scam. PLEASE report yours as well, and put these scamsters out of business before they defraud someone of their identity.  Obviously PHISHING for financial information and defrauding folks.  And OBVIOUSLY believes he is impervious to the law, to boot!

I received a call from 270-657-8766.  Claiming to be from US governent.  Wanting to give me a grant of $7000.......  the same as a previous post by "Kabir".  

What really concerns me is how these crooks got my number, my address, and my name.

You would think that with all of our wonderful technology, this could be stopped.

I refuse to answer and they did not leave a message

This number keeps calling my cell number and I refuse to answer it!!  I tried to call it back from a land line and it's not a working number.

I just received MANY calls from these idiots. They need to be stopped.  With the first call, a woman with an Indian/Middle Eastern accent stumbled many times attempting to ask for someone. It didn't sound like anyone here, so I told her to learn some f****ng English and then hung up on her.  Minutes later, a second call came. It was a guy with the same accent asking me what I said to his employee. I told him what I told her and hung up on him.  Then, the 3rd call came and told him I was contacting the authorities. I cussed him out and once again, hung up. He called back and I told him I would hunt his a** down if he called back.  The dumbass called again. This time I said nothing until he said something in his native jibberish and then hung up on me. He has yet to call back.  CLEARLY this outfit has crossed the line many times with their threats etc. CLEARLY they need to be stopped and PROSECUTED.

Just wondering, since they are clearly a scam operation what good would it do to speak with a supervisor?

I have received many phone calls from this number. When I tried to call it back it is a non working number. I answered 3 times. The first time the attendant said he was from HP and he had a Middle Eastern Indian accent. He then told me that my computer was downloading malware and that I needed to buy software to stop it. I confronted him, telling him that this was a scam, and I wanted to talk with a supervisor. He then hung up on me. The second time I answered the same scam was given, I then got very upset and told him that if he could not give me a supervisor that I was going to contact the police. He then started cussing at me and threatened my life by saying "We are going to come over there and kill all of you" he then stated "The president is going to F*** your mother". I then hung up. The third time I answered I ask to be removed from their list; he then told me that he would find me no matter what. Even if I changed my phone number they would find me and kill me. I then contacted the Nevada PD and filed a complaint. I cannot block this number because they use a non working number. CRAZY..... DO NOT ANSWER THIS NUMBER...

Got a call from this number saying that Government is paying me $13,000.00 back for paying my taxes on time, not filing for bankruptcy and having no criminal record. They wanted to know how to deposit the money, bank account, Visa or Master card or by cash. When i told them cash, she wanted to verify my address and age. This company had the address where i used to live 5 yrs back. (if its the government, paying me back, they should have my most current address and bank account- i efile my taxes every year AND most important thing, Govt is broke, how will they pay $13000). I was given a call back number (202-621-0739) and an ID to talk to the manager so that the money can be released. I havent called that number yet.
