This number texted me knew my number and had a conversation with me but would not give a name

I got the "Hi (my name). message.  Dunno how they got my name but I'm smart enough to not respond to strange texts.  Some kind of spammer or scammer.

Got the same message.  Thanks for all of your input.  I won't respond.

i got a text from 2708444457 and it said "hey sydney!" and i responded "hey whos this?" and they responded "Do u use Y! IM?? cuz im me my id is txtgirl06" and i responded" say what? whos this?" and they said "Omg...Mi celly s bout to die"... i responded "who is this?" once again...

Good thing I googled this number. I got the same canned response except for a different username for the yahoo chat. Pretty sure mine (and anyone elses numbers) are/were sourced from trollling craigslist ads.

Got a text today that said "Hey Julie!" from an unknown number. After reading the above, I am not responding. Thanks to those who posted before me. I am also from Texas.

Recvd a text from 606-536-4263 saying Hola Marianne but no response to my inquiry of who it is.

Got a text from this number saying Hola Ashley and no response to my saying "who is this" either. I have my facebook set to private so I'm not really sure how they got my name and number but that's super creepy. This is the second text I've gotten like this in two days.

received this today with Hello and my name...no response to ""who is this""  I am in texas if that matters..weird

I JUSTgot a text, that simply said "Hi ---------?" with my name. I replied "Who is this?", and they responded with "lol if you want to know who this is you got to add me on Y! msger, my id is txtwoman961".

No thank u. I don't know what kind of new spamming this is going on, but now I'm starting to get pissed. It's one thing to bombard my email, but now people are getting your personal cell phones and name...I'mso glad I have blocking capabilities on my cell phone account. It's gonna get to the point to where, I'm only going to allow certain contacts to be able to call and text, instead of blocking the occassional hacker. UGH!

I just received a text msg few mins ago like this: Hey\u042f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u043b\u0430\u0432??
I responded thinking it was the person posted something online I'd like to check and the same user of this # 270-844-4457 replied: "Haha if you want to know who this is u got to add me on Yahoo messenger, my id is txtflirt49".
I asked if he/she was the person I intended to keep in touch.. no more reply.

I got a text saying Hello Kimberly. I texted back asking who was it but got no response.

I got one today 11/01/12 at 6:00pm and all it said was."Hello Jason..." Also no reply when prompted.

has anyone got a reply back at all, My husband got one to and they knew his name to. They said hola to him with his name!

They knew my name as well! There was no reply when I asked who the text was from. Creepy.
