I finally changed my number after 20 calls from various numbers yesterday.  It was worth it.

I had both the 272 and the 838 #'s call me multiple times on the 4th as well - I yelled at them to "stop calling my f-ing phone and to take me off their calling list ASAP!"  They promptly hung up and have not called back since.  Looks like actually answering, yelling and cursing at these d-bags seems to do the trick :)

They call several times throughout the day, sometimes consecutively, sometimes not. They never leave a message. They disconnect when I answer. (Note: This happened with a couple of other phone numbers during the same period.)

I received 11 calls yesterday and 2 so far today (by 830 am!!), but I didn't answer any of them.  What should we do to stop this?  So freaking annoying!

Have had at least 10 calls from this number in 2 days. A male with a VERY heavy Indian accent says he is calling about an auto loan I applied for.  When I questioned him about this - he said it was done on the internet.  Since I did not submit an inquiry, I questioned him about the company name.  He would give no information and said that someone else would be calling to confirm loan details.  He pretty much tried to demand the income of everyone in the household and when I wouldn't give him the information, he hung up.

This number as well as 387-535-2518 and 836-906-5659 has been calling me every hour for the past 2 days. When I did answer once, they said something about an application being approved. When I asked what application, the man just mumbled and I told him to quit calling me. That hasn't stopped them. Is there anything we can do??

Has anyone been successful in getting rid of them? My phone carrier, Optimum, says it's not a valid phone number and so they can't block it (thanks for nothing, Optimum!).  
I think the calls are coming from India (judging by the very heavy accent of the one person I spoke to)--so the "Do Not Call" list or calling the local police won't do anything, either.
Please post if you've been able to get them to stop--and tell us how you did so!

Today which was the 4th of July I received six calls from 272-219-9253. When we would answer NOBODY would speak. I tried calling the number back and the operator came on saying this was a disconnected number.

These calls had best STOP. This is very irrating!!!!

Keep calling trying to sell something. While I was trying to get off the phone. Another call from the same number came in so more than one person at the same company continues to call all day. They speak a with a strong ancent very fast. can not understand what they are saying. they do not give up.

Another call about a loan but from a different number 838-177-2321...So tired of them.

these douch bags will call you and call you and call you and NOT let up...i had one talking crap to me on the phone that he was going to screw up my credit...and all kinds of bull...good luck people they wont give up!

Soooo, the b*****d called back talking about a loan. The man had Indian accent and he may have said that his name was John ( if that is his real name which Iam sure it is not). I told him Do Not call my line anymore and to stick that loan in his a**! Happy 4th.

They call and don't say a DAMN thing! I have an emergency line and this s*** is extremely annoying. And yes it is July 4 2011 @ 8:21 pm.

It's the 4th of July and I have been called like 6 times by this number!  A man with a HEAVY Indian accent says something like, "Recently, you applied for a something something loan, right?"  I told him several times I could not understand him, and then asked what word he was saying right before he said "right" and they hung up.  I bet I get more calls...  How annoying!
