I think they just generate these numbers and have hacked the caller ID. I've called Sprint to see if they'll block international calls to my phone but I bet they're going through some exchange here in the US.

This last time they called I asked for a supervisor:
"Ok"
...
"Are you the supervisor?
"Sure"
"You've called me 25 times in the last 24 hours"
covers phone and then says
"You applied for a car loan 25 times in the last 24 hours"
"Did you hear what you just said? Who applies for a car loan 25 times?"

I've been getting a constant call from the following phone numbers 5259560175, 2779715170, and 4275560171 finally some indian guy who I could barely understand told me I was approved for 1500 dollars... or something like that I said who the freak is this? I said don't approve anything... and he hanged up. I used TMobile btw.

Someone named Chris called me from this number and asked if I had requested a cash advance. I said no. He said I'm sorry and hung up.

These calls are getting old !

I also started getting calls from the 277 and 525 numbers. I finally answered the phone very rudely, they responded rudely. I have not received anymore calls from them. I had a bad feeling about it from the start. They are trying to scam! I have Sprint, most of these posts are from AT&T customers.....so, DON'T ANSWER.

I don't know what this number is! It also calls my cell phone at least 3 times a day!  I send numbers that I don't recognize to the voicemail but these people never leave a message; instead they call back about an hour later!

Yep, just told me he was my Dad. Strange I don't think so. I think this dude had cable hook up in the middle of his head!

I've been getting calls from 277-971-5170 and 525-956-0175 but after I called this number no one has called me since.

I don't know if they really have any other information on anyone because when i called they had no idea who I was. It seems to me like a buiness that got a bunch of phone numbers and is calling them until they get someone to apply for their loans.....which may or may not be legitimate.

Just don't give them ANY of your personal information and you should be fine. I am contacting my bank to report it to their fraud department just to be sure none of my info is out there.

I have gotten 2 calls so far today from 277-971-5170 and 525-956-0175. As everyone has already said you can't call the number back. I also have AT&T not sure if they have been hacked or not but it is completely ridiculous to get these calls! I won't answer when they call tho. Seems as tho it has just started in the past few days. Maybe these cell phone companies can see these numbers are an issue and just block these numbers...hopefully at no charge!!

i got a call from 277-971-5170 an some indian guy told me i was approved for a car loan. I told him i never applied for one he kept repeating the same thing and told me not to worry i was approved. He began getting rude and told me to F myself in the A, and i told him i hope he was being recorded he said he was and still kept cussing me out. i can not find a way to call this number back, but they are scammers don't get fooled by them !!!!!!!!!

Since about 8 (8 o'clock on the dot actually) this morning I have gotten four calls from this number.  My phone is able to block spam calls and this may pissing off whoever this is calling me because they are unable to speak to me and are also unable to leave a vm message, so they keep calling.  These calls come out of nowhere and I wish they could be stopped.

These people are a-holes.  They keep calling for Carl Whineburg?  (Not my name.)  I ask to be taken off the list, they hang up.  I ask to speak with a manager, they hang up.  Sometimes they hang up when I ask them to repeat there name and the name of the business.  Honestly, if it doesn't cost me anything I really don't mind,  cursing out a bunch of ignorant people is a great way to relieve stress.

Multiple calls from that "non existant" #.  Received 5 calls today from 421-781-8274. Haven't been home to answer but I must agree its the same bunch of morons.

Continued calls at all hours.  No answer and/or static in line.  I can sometimes hear someone with accent trying to speak.  Our number is on the do not call list and still receiving these calls.  Also worried about scam as some of you are.  I do not want to receive some sort of outlandish phone AT&T mobile phone bill!

I have no idea how they got my number.  All I know is I want it to stop! Also started getting calls from 714-815-1189 out of nowhere along with texts for loans, keep responding STOP and get new ones.  ARGHHHH!!!

this is definetly a call from another country with a scam of sorts...we received 4 calls today...finally a thick indian accented man said something about my application being approved and i told him he has the wrong number...we are changing our number on monday - enough is enough, we've received other calls from different numbers, this is the first one that actually answered and I think it has to do with lousy country to country connection, which is why some can't even answer you when you pick up the phone...

Called several times today, very strong Indian accent. Gave me a location in Milton KY which is quite a ways from where I live. The guy they said they were calling actually does live there. First it was about a payday loan, then about a loan approval and wanted to verify information. Hopefully I have put an end to this but we will see. AT&T wants 4.95/month to block calls. (ridiculous customer service).

I've had the same problem with calls from two of the phone numbers you mentioned: 277-971-5170 and 525-956-0175. First they called and asked for someone named Barbara (not my name), then they called saying something about being approved for a cash advance, then they called saying something about being approved for a loan. Almost every time, they mention the name Barbara.

I've repeatedly asked them to take my number off their call list. They ignore my requests, and half the time they hang up on me when I'm in the middle of a sentence. My number is in the Do Not Call registry but they call anyway.

I finally just logged into my Verizon Wireless account online and added their numbers to the Blocked Phone Numbers list today. It supposedly blocks calls from up to five different numbers for 90 days. Hopefully that will put an end to these calls.

Guy said I got approved for my car loan.  I said I didn't apply for one and started yelling at him.  He asked me why I was getting so angry and I hung up.  It started last night at 11pm with a text message and I have gotten several calls today but from several different numbers.

First time in more than 10 years that I've gotten a call like this- NO REASON! I have no debt, don't put this number on the internet AND I'm on the Do Not Call.

# Called 18 times yesterday on my cell that only family knows, no messages, can't call the number back. I was away from my phone all day and thankfully didn't see or hear it at the time.

This morning I woke up at 0820 and had 7 missed calls from 277-971-5170. SEVEN.

So, they just called again and I answered immediately with "DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN"
and the response, through a lot of static and noise, was "WHY?"...I answered "Because I don't want you calling this number"..."Why? Huuuuuh? Why do you...?"

And I lost it: "What the ****, are you kidding me!!!??? I don't give a **** about whatever it is that you're making $.32/per hour to ******* call me and waste my time for. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN".

All he would say was :"Why? Why? WHHHYYYYYY? HUH? WHY?"

He was still repeating it over and over as I hung up. I don't normally answer calls that I don't recognize, but seriously? This is ridiculous.

He had a thick, familiar accent that reminded me of when I was deployed to Santo Domingo, DR.

I suspect that this is an off-shore op and that's why they can get away with rudeness and ghosting.  The numbers DO NOT EXIST according to VZW. I can't even block them according to Customer Service. Nice, well then you're losing an expensive customer until you can give me a better answer.

I too have been receiving calls from this number every 5- 15 minutes every day!

This number keeps calling and no one talks and no mesage left, I do not want calls from this number!
