Even if one puts his number on the National Do Not Call Registry, a company with which the person has an established business relationship may call for up to 18 months after his/her last purchase or delivery from it, or last payment to it, unless the party specifically asks the company not to call again. (In that case, the company must honor the request not to call. If they subsequently call, they may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000 USD.) Also, if one makes an inquiry to a company or submits an application to it, for three months afterwards, the company can call. If one makes a specific request to that company not to call them, however, then the company may not call, even if you have an established business relationship with that company.ewr

Kathy you are wrong.  Do not give any part of your Soc. Sec. # to anyone if there is not a job offer on the table.  Asking for date of birth is also a big no no.  Ever heard of age discrimination??????  Word to the wise, get your interview, fill out the application, but only supply confidential information with a job offer.  Companies understand and will not press you if the job is real and they want you.

They have real jobs.
In fact, they're with some good companies.
I didn't take them up on the offer because it was a little low.
If I didn't have a job right now, I probably would have gone for it.

I received the same calls, same emails and same Indian contacts.  I'm OK with the Indian contacts, however, my issue is that they are requesting the last four of my SSN (their reasoning was that the hiring company required it, and they weren't certain as to why they needed it, claimed maybe for a background check).  I don't give this information readily and I also indicated that if I got an interview I would give them my SSN for any background check the hiring company required.  I have since received three calls stating they could not submit my resume without the SSN number.  I've used headhunters before, and in my experience they had a local office where I went for an interview prior to them sending my resume along to a potential placement.  Also, I've applied to several companies which did NOT require me provide my SSN.  Crazy - if this is a scam, in this tough economic time where unemployment is at its highest, that people would take advantage of that is disgusting aand they should be ashamed of themselves.  They gave me the name of the hiring company, so I may just submit my resume to them directly.

just got a call from this number (twice).  the second time, a 'scott moore' (with a VERY thick indian accent) left a voicemail regarding a job opportunity in my city.  he said he was also sending me an email with details about the opportunity.  the email contained absolutely no details about anything, but it did say that he was from "sai people solutions" and that he saw my resume "on the job board".  i can only assume that the "job board" is monster.com, as the address to which he sent the email is the one i use on monster (and not one that i use when sending resumes or otherwise applying online for employment).

didn't call back, but - because of the 'shadiness' of the email - i went straight to google and began typing "sai people solutions".  i got out the letters "sai pe", and google's autocomplete showed a result for "sai people solutions scam".  that ultimately led me to this site, where - after reading previous posts (btw, thanks everyone!) - my assumptions were solidified/validated.

I have been dealing with these guys from almost a year. I have been called by many people from this company for a conteact position with IBM. However, not all of them had an Indian accent. I believe that they are a team which consists of both Indians as well as Americans.

I was initially called by an Indian recruiter. He called me regarding a contract job with IBM. He had a thick Indian accent. But I felt like giving it a try. I sent him my resume and the very next day, as said by the recruiter, I got a call from his Staffing Director called "Jim Bowker". Jim was an American guy and sounded very proffessional. Then I was convinced that it couldn't be a scam. A few weeks later, the same Indian recruiter called me up to confirm that my resume was shorlisted by IBM and they would like to have an in person interview with me. An appointment was fixed and I attended the interview. Luckily, everything went fine and I got an offer. Prior to my joining IBM, I again got few calls from Indian guys from the same company. They asked me to fax few of my notarized documents and a signed offer. I did so.

Today, I have been working with IBM and I am on the payroll of Sai People Solutions. It was a 1 year contract, however, they extended it by another 6 months and hopefully, IBM is looking forward to hire me as their direct employee.

Thanks to Sai People Solutions.

I know that it is really annoying when we get flooded with calls. The thick Indian accents adds on to the frustration. However, what difference does it make if the recruiter on other side of the phone is an Indian as long as the purpose is genuine??

All I wanna say is that I have been dealing with these guys for quite some time and I can assure you that it is not a scam.

In fact, Sai People Solutions is one of the top most staffing company in United States amd they are located in Houston Texas. They have their very own site there.

Nice recruiter name...
These people are real. Real PITA's. What we are seeing is the Big companies are going to doing whats called "near shoring". This is what caused me to loose my recruiting company. The big guys (ATT, State Farm...) have all said "we are only using american companies." but they use companies with 8 to 10 thousand people (off shore) consultants. This way they can say they do not ship jobs over seas, but in reallity, they do. They can pay less and have a better pool to pull from. And phone numbers are just re-routes.
I ask one guy if it was raining in texas. He said "No it is sunny outside" weather map showed thunderstorms all over the state.

Also after looking into the email more closely that is asking for my notarized copies of notarized ID's I'm told to fax the documents to another number 413-521-8156. a reverse look up of this number shows a  MA address:

Full-screen
Phone Number: (413) 521-8156
Location: Brimfield, MA
County: Hampden
Line Type: Land Line

definitely very leary of these people.

I've been dealing with these guys too. Same story as everyone else. I actually agreed to take a position at Symantec, but did not discuss wages. Next thing I know I'm getting contracts to fill out and almost hourly phone calls asking me to send notarized copies of my social and drivers license. I too need a job but I feel a scam here as no company I've ever worked with has ever asked for a notarized copy of my IDs. When they call me I ask to speak with "Andy" the recruiter. They say they don't know where he is and can't even give me a phone number for him. They say "you will need to talk to your recruiter" When I ask to be transfered to them they sound nervous and say I should call my recruiter. Seems completely unprofessional if it is not a scam.

Much of what I read in the previous comments, I have  experienced over the past 7 days. At least 5 calls regarding a job offer. Spoke to the agent who is not very professional at all. He did not ask any of the type of questions or in the manner like a recruiter and did not offer any info. The last email and voicemail made me leary. The email provided compensation info which this recruiter "Andy" said we agreed to on the phone, when we did not discuss that at all. Shortly after that, he left a VM saying he needs the last 5 digits to my social security number, my birthdate and what I was making last year. Along with all of this, the info was needed ASAP!I need a job, but do not need to be scammed. I am walking away from this one.

Just got a message, on my work line, from this company (SAI People Solutions). I have not posted my resume or my work information anywhere, so why would a headhunter be looking to hire me, let alone for a job I'm not even qualified for? Oh, and obviously I'm not unemployed if you just called my office. Last but not least, this Indian (my assumption) male's English was so incredibly broken yet he claimed his name was Adam Ross. Riiiiiiight. The call-back number was 886-313-6849 extention 116.

They are a call center from India calling on behalf of companies with open jobs.  This time they called and left me a message that Verizon was hiring a Marketing Analyst in NYC (WAY far from where I live, BTW).  She was reading from a script and left 5 messages in 3 days so far.  Last week they were harassing me about a job with Aflac and before that it was for a financial company that I couldn't find anywhere online.

Yeah, I've actually heard of this company. It's legit but I don't know if they've actually placed anyone on a job.

Btw, I've actually received work from outsourced agencies. I'm in the Bay Area. Most of these recruiters are VERY gung-ho about finding someone to fill a job quickly.
My last contract went from 2 months to 1 year.
I wouldn't rule these guys out yet
