The  scammer said he was Cal Wilkens and left the same message as the others said with a Houston location 1-281-377-5921 saying he'd be at our house in PA tomorrow. He said to call 855-580-5797 with questions.

Received a call from 281-377-5921 two days in a row now.  Didn't answer the first time and got a message stating he would be at my house at 2:30 and I better be there or he would turn it in as a refusal and it would be considered a failure to appear.  Second time I answered the phone and pretended I was someone else.  Told him the person was out of town and no way to reach them.  He said that I better find a way to get a hold of them or he was going to submit this as a refusal and turn me in as  an obstruction and I would go to jail as well as the person for failure to appear.  I told him that was up to him and hung up.  I had a feeling this was a scam as I did not think papers were served by couriers.  Glad to know my instincts are still accurate.

process servers NEVER would call before they come out to serve you, this is a false statement meant to scare you into paying ... .do not fall for it.   This collection agency is NOT suing you, and is breaking the law by making you think they are.   report them to the FTC or to the NYS Attorney General's office. save all recorded messages or calls.

On Monday 06/02/14 I received a call from 281-377-5921. I did not answer it and the person left me a message saying his name was John, could not understand last name from a private courier. Told me he was going to be by between 12-2 on 06/03/14 and to have a valid ID so I could sign for some documents. He told me to call 855-580-5797 to reschedule if I was not going to be home. Never called him or the 855 number. In the background I could hear what sounded like a call center.

This morning 06/04/14, he called me three times in a row. Left a message the third time. Claiming that he came by twice, called numerous times and left several messages. He told me that he is considering me evasive and he is sending my papers back as a direct refusal and a failed appearance.  Of course he told me to call the 855 number. I researched that number and from some of the comments that I read it sounds like illegal debt collection.

As other in here have said. Most paper servers do not call you in advance and papers are served by either Sheriff's Departments and there are some private civil servers.  Or the paper is sent via certified mail and you have to sign for that.

I received a call today from 281/377-5921 a Kyle Wilkins stating he was a private Courier for Maricopa county and that he had legal documents to deliver. He said he had been trying to contact me however this was the first time that I had received any type of contact from him or that company.  He was rude and used a very sturn voice stating that I needed be home tomorrow between 12 and 2. He said he needed 2 forms of ID and a witness present and that he would be delivering the papers personally himself.  He stated that if he fails to contact me that further legal actions will be taken. He left a call back number of 855/580-5797 in case I need to change the appointment.  When I researched these numbers they come up with Argos Alliance Group & Commerce Recovery & Capital Management.  They have called my work harrassing them at the front desk and also called my cell phone and desk phone leaving harrassing messages.

I just received a voicemail from this number.  He said his name was Nathan Wall.  He is looking for my brother and actually pronounced the county correctly.  My brother lives in another state, but he used to use me as a reference when he applied for things.  My presumption is that they're calling all the numbers listed on the loan application, including references?  I have no idea what it is about, and I do not care.  Maybe my brother owes someone money, maybe he doesn't.  I -am- an attorney, though, so if this persists I will put a stop to it.

This whole scam is bogus.  Like everyone has mentioned above, it doesn't add up.  My biggest laugh is...  if you're coming to my house to deliver papers why would you trust one of my friends and/or family members to witness that the documents were sealed when I received them?

If the scammer shows up, call the police.

NO ONE gets a heads up they'll be served.  And you also do not need two forms of ID or a witness.  These losers can't do anything to you - and no one will show up - they work by scaring people into paying bogus debt, debt that's already been paid off or even debt that may be owed - but not to them.

I see that many of you have said the caller said they were coming to your house, but did any of them ever show up? That is what is concerning me at the moment. I know this is a scam, an attempt to illegally collect a "supposed" debt, but this guy said he was coming to my house! What will he do when he gets here? Give me proof that this is a debt?
I called the 855 number again and got a voice message (Your call is important to us, blah, blah) and the company that the voice named was Commerce Recovery and Capital Management.
After waiting for 15 minutes on the phone a person with an unusual accent came on. I gave her the reference number and she looked it up and gave me a staggering amount. I have never had that much debt in my life!! I asked her the name of the company that I had the debt with and she said I had it with them.
I explained to her that she worked for a debt recovery company and it was one of their clients that was trying to get their money back and I have the right to know the name of their client. All of this went right over her head and she said that I owe her company $XX,XXX . I went on to tell her she was breaking the law by not giving the debtor's information according to the FDCPA Section 806.
She hung up on me.
So, has anyone ever showed up at your doors after they said they were going to?

I got a call just a short time ago from this number, 281-377-5921 and  the phone ID just read, "Houston, TX". The caller did not give his name.
He said he was a courier for Nationwide Couriers. I immediately got the feeling that this was not right.
He asked me if I was going to be home tomorrow between 12 and 3. He told me he needed 2 forms of photo ID and a witness! I do not have TWO forms of photo ID.
When I asked him what this was about, he told me he was just a courier and did not know what it was. I said the package must have a return address and he just spoke over me saying that I had to have 2 forms of photo ID and a witness ready between 12 and 3 tomorrow.
In case I need to change the appointment, he gave me this phone number, 855-580-5797 and a reference number to use.
I do not like the idea of a stranger coming to my house and getting any kind of info on or from me with nothing more than a packet of faux papers. After reading a few of the responses on this site about possibly being served, I called our county offices to ask them how the sent papers to people for any reason and they told me if it was a legal matter they send a sheriff's deputy or officer of the court. Any other matter they send via registered mail.
What can we do to protect ourselves from things like this? Even law enforcement, it seems, cannot do anything about it.

The guy also mentioned he was a courier for my county...too bad he had the wrong apt number. I figure if this was serious enough, he would have the correct address.  When the real courts issue something or being sued, the information is accurate.

Same thing. I got a call from this number and he left a message. Told me that there are legal papers I need to sign. I did not listen to the whole message. But he did say to be available between 12 pm and 2 pm tomorrow. Well I have to work so that is not going to happen. He has only called once so far. If in the event he shows up, I will entertain him for a minute. If he continues to call me. I will deal with him accordingly and legally.

Yes, I recieved the same call yesterday.  I contacted my lawyer this morning, and will be filing against this company. He called twice yesterday and twice already today and its only 10 am where I am. I haven't spoken with him, but he leaves voicemails sating the same thing. I even heard him on a commercial last night about harrassers. Now that I see that this is his career this makes me want to work even harder to get my case going. I have no debt for him to be calling about so this is harassment...

I just now received the call from that same guy saying that he was suppose to be serving me with some papers for Galveston County and I asked what it was about and he told me to call (855) 580-6008 to see what it was about.  Of course that was a collection agency saying I have a judgment against me from a loan company that I didn't pay.  The person I spoke with was young and very unprofessional and I stated that I never had an unpaid loan and my lawyer will look into it.  So this guy is calling many different people lying about who he is to get people to pay them money -----SCAM written all over it!  I'm going to report the #

This guy contacted me yesterday, he left a voice mail saying that I was to make myself available between 12-3 to sign legal documents. He said I had to have 2 forms of ID and all that. He said he was a Courier with the Pinal County court. And the call back number he gave me was a collection agency, they had no idea who he was. I have no idea who he is either. I'm scared. And I don't know what to do.

It only takes a few seconds to stop these calls.

File a complaint at the website below and it WILL mean the end of harrassing debt collector phone calls to your phone!!!

Once you make a complaint, the site below keeps your number in their database and debt collectors calling your phone get redirected to them instead so they can catch them!

If you dont then you will keep getting the calls and taking abuse from them.

Copy and Paste the statement below so all the statements are the same and they get rid of this preposterous "company"!

"I am being issued a summons by http://www.empireaccountsolutionsinc.com from the phone number 800-xxx-xxx.  They have called all my relatives and some of my neighbors.  They said they are coming to serve me documents for court and if I have more questions to call the filing party.  The phone number leads to a collection agency that continues the story, never stating any FDCPA complaint remarks, including not saying the mini-miranda."

http://www.ag.ny.gov/internet-bureau-online-complaint-form

This place calls themselves all sorts of names i found out (empire account solutions, empire legal solutions, empire asset solutions) They are all linked.  Everytime I call they say they are another name.  Ask them, I bet they say yes to any name you give them.  They dont use their name to throw you off... so if they do make you upset, you dont know which business is which.
Seriously?

David Lyons called my brother's home ph # & left message. This has never been my number so he must have done some kind of search on my maiden name & is just calling every number listed under that last name. Claimed to work for the county but did not pronounce the name of the county correctly...that was a red flag! Also said he was coming to my apartment & named an apt #. My address is a house...there is no apt #. Too many things here don't make sense. If the county was coming to serve papers, I'm pretty sure they would know my correct address, pronounce the county correctly and DUH not call first! I plan to report this scam to the FCC.

A guy who said his last name was Anderson called me, saying that his client had filed a complaint against my cousin, and that he was trying to contact him, regarding bad checks and fraud. My cousin is a United States Marine, and has never done anything of the sort, and would not do anything like this. Please catch these criminals. I will also file a formal complaint with the FTC.
