called a few times and told me "You have been kicked from this conference call" then made a beeping noise and hung up.

I just received a second call from these crooks.  Same as August 13.  I hate to admit it, but I forgot to add them to my blocked number list.  NOW they're blocked.  The reason I'm posting this note is to let you know that they WILL keep calling if you don't block them.  I hate phone scammers.

PS to moderators:  We need a new "Call Type" category.  These folks are only pretending to be a Non-profit.  They're just garden variety crooks trying to get us to send them our hard earned money.

A person claiming to be from the Texas Fraternal Order of Police called today from this number. Sounds like a scam. I did not give them any information and hung up.

Just got call on my land line.  No message.  The caller I.D. showed only the phone number.  I seriously doubt that it is Amgref Healthcare.  I suppose it's one of those lowlife, bottom feeding, scum sucking, no good crooks who are too lazy to work for a living.  Of course I blocked the number, reported it to the state and federal Attorneys General, reported the violation to the Do Not Call list, and for good measure, I called my Congressman's office to complain about inadequate and unenforceable telecommunication laws.  I hate these criminals.

Having seen this number previously, I answered by saying "State your business" and they hung up. My search turned up this:

Got a call this a.m. tried to call back no body but voice mail stating the are either closed or away from desk be careful.

I am from Texas and no we do not have State police. We have city/county police, sheriffs, state troopers, and rangers. Glad you caught on to this scam.

Got a call from this number today.  Claimed to be State Police, but Texas does not have State Police.  I is DPS (Department of Public Safety) in Texas.  This sounds like a scam.
