A real lawyer would draft a letter to demand payment if they are representing a collection agencie and never would demand payment that day or next day - only collection agencies do that. If it was legit account & a legit lawyer and you told them you could pay next month, they will accept that - send you a letter confirming the arrangement and then follow up next month.

If they tell you, you can't mail the payment and ask for your account information for an ACH payment - never do that. A legit agency or lawyer would always accept a check payment.
