My experience is the FTC does NOTHING.  File a complaint with your state Attorney General's Office, Dept. of Justice. They should have a form on their website that you can download and complete.

Melanie, go to the FTC.gov website and file a complaint; not a Do Not Call complaint, but a Federal Trade Commission complaint. File one each time you get a call like this. With enough people doing this, these idiots will have to redeploy. The longer the paper trail following them, the more they have to sweat.

Got a call from this number at 11PM the night before last....the recording said it was a survey. I hung up

I got the survey call at 11:30 PM. All I heard before I hung up was something about the survey and the free cruise.  My caller ID list ACCATEL

281-763-0444 called me last night at around midnight saying I had been selected to answer an ISG survey.......I just slammed the phone down....what legit company calls at midnight.....

I got my call from them right after you, pissed! They woke me up and I have to be up at 5:30 am Monday-Friday for work. And it is hard as hell for me to fall back asleep after I've been woken up. What ever happened to it being illegal to phone someone after 9:00 pm? I guess they have found loopholes in that "law".

Is calling at 1:00 am! I have to be up at 5:30 am Monday-Friday for work. Has happened twice now. The recording states that it is some survey that I have been "specifically chosen to participate in". Funny how I don't get this call at any other time. What happened to it being "illegal to call someone after 9:00 pm"?

This company called my home # to do a short 30 second survey at 11:47 PM and woke up my 2 year old child. I thought it was against the law to call someone after 9:00 PM.

I got a call from this number on 9/27/11 @11:08pm. It was an automated message about a survey and said I'd won 2 tickets for a trip. My number is also registered on the Do Not Call list. I hung up.

Received call LATE after 10:00pm claiming to be taking a survey, to be followed by a representative.  Did the survey giving totally BS answers.  No Rep., just a recorded voice saying it was outside their normal East Coast business hours.  No kidding!

Total BS artists.  I only did their "survey" to tell them to go > . . . themselves.

Think about the poor elderly that get confused over these scams. That could be your parent or mine.

From:S.Miller, a scam debt collector who has a very strong British accent and speaks VERY fast.I have been called from several differnt numbers about a so-called loan that I will have to go to court on.He got 350.00 from me and I just stopped answering the calls .The sheriff was going to be called and then they gave me extra time etc etc, but this time I didn't bite.I am not sure, but one of his numbers linked me to a paydayloan.I called that number and when I mentioned the collectors name he hung up(the payday loan place)Then, I received a call from what appears to be a normal attorney.
I had tried to keep in contact with them and they can't seem to get the scheduled payment , so the loan is up to 800.00 something now.I think it's a trick to get more money, based on my bank statements! I may be mistaken but Miller linked to ace.I hope I am wrong.Will try to double check those two numbers again if I still have them.I do have taped messages on the cell. from this Miller.Contantly calls for about one week permonth and 2 calls from UK.

In other words, people are using them to scam others.  And, I would guess they are aware of it, as this isn't the only website of this type.  Nice to see the scammers are using those high quality, low costs minutes efficiently.

Cops don't arrest people for owing money, even if it's legit.  Maybe in India or Pakistan they do.
And, no legitimate company sends payments through Western Union.  For heaven's sake.

I also received a call from 281-763-0444. The caller ID showed Unknown Name. It was a recorded message claiming  not to be a sales call but to be a call from ESP or ESG Research Group.  The recording wanting me to participate in a short survey on the economy and debt crisis.  For my time, I would receive a free 2 day cruise to the Bahamas.  The recording said that I would only need to pay the port fees.
While I was taking the survey, I Googled "ESG free cruise survey".

Under federal law, those conducting surveys are not allowed to include cellphone numbers in their automated dialing lists, so they must manually dial those numbers. Most blocks of phone numbers are separated into cellphone and landline banks.

The laws are designed to help protect cellphone owners from expensive, unwanted telemarketing calls.

They can get away with this for a land line, but not a Cell phone. Report them!

281 763 0444 came up on the Caller ID as a TEXAS CALL. When I answered it was a recorded message claiming to be a call from ESP RESEARCH GROUP calling to offer a survey about the current Debt Crisis. I was told via the recording that completing the survey could gain me a Cruise for 2. The option of connecting to complete the survey if I press 1 was given. OR I could press 9 to refuse the survey and be removed from their list. I opted for "9". I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST and it irritates me that "Research" groups are immune to that restriction. Furthermore, I question anything that offers me such an extravagant prize for such a simple task.

Got a missed call from this number and did not call back because I read the posts on this website.  If they pull any crap with me I have the ability to trace them and locate them within 3 hours.  At that point they will be locked up in jail forever with the resources I have.

Same name used on my call (see previous post). There is no previous dealings with such a firm yet they are allowed to call. Public has no way of responding except to PAY phone companies additional fees for additional services -- what a joke --  not sure who are the really bad guys, one making the calls, phone companies as they make money off of all of this, or lawmakers they right laws with enough loopholes one could drive a TANK throug them.

call from 281-763-0444 in representing some scam if survey taken then stay on line to talk to some travel agent -- taxes and tims not covered --- cursed SOB out and they threatened to call again. The DoNotCall list is NOT working -- get unwanted calls all the time and have been on list for several years. Truth be known, there is no teeth in the enforcement as big business runs both sides of the problem. Shame.

This number called and I got a recording saying not to hang up, that it was Jennifer from EG Research.  Whatever the hell that is.  So I hung up and blocked the number.  Sounds like they've changed their scam a little.

I got a call from this number, picked up the phone and didn't say anything.  It just disconnected.  I tried to add it to my call-block list several times and the call-block recording kept saying that the number was incorrect.  I tried several times with the same result.  My call-block "quota" is not filled so I don't know why it won't accept this number.
