i got a call today didnt pick it up i was almost crying till i saw this :)

My father, an elderly man, gets solicitor calls - how do they get away with calling those registered on the "Do Not Call" list????? My father doesn't even live within the area code region the call was sent from! The number was: 520-829-3253

I received a call from FOP but the number is (972) 999-4017 and the caller didn't leave a message. I was curious about the Police part so I went to Google and just as I thought, some scam artist program. I do wish that these people refrain from calling my number.

Frat Ord Policeis a fraud!!!!They called us today and i looked it up...its a fraud...dont worry

At 9:40 am I recieved a call from 2817637527 and it said frat ord police! SCAM Do not answer!

Got a call today (July 15) from this number. Said "Texas Call" on the Caller ID. It's a Houston area code. I don't call back unless there is a message requiring my attention.  Tired of these people and all others like them.

We recieved a phone call from this number, when my husband answered, their was just a dial tone, it scared him half to death because I do alot of driving.

You can report them, see below.  Although they use several different numbers, so they will just call from a different line.

"...., unless you have asked them to stop calling you. If you have asked them to stop calling, please keep a record of the date you made the request and include that information in the comment section of any complaint you submit against that company."

they called , said nothing soon enough, so i hung up. be careful, one time got a call from supposed police telling me that one of my children was in accident, said they found my number in her cell. then when i hung up, my phone was hijaacked to a prison cell, took some doing to get it back. its a ploy with the inmates , so they may make out side calls for free

i first recieved a call from 210-655-1784 that i responded too. But got no response. Then the phone rang immediately after from that number 281-763-7527. Frat ord Police. This has to stop.

Called them back and I got a busy signal. I just think it's creepy.

its a company that collects donations for police officers

My parents just recieved a phone call 20 minutes ago asking for me. I'm married and have been out of that house for years. Who are these guys? The caller ID also said FOR POLICE

Received a call from 281 763-7527, Frat Ord Police, by the time I got to the phone (4th ring) they hung up.  I got worried and wondered why the police would call and not leave a message.  My children are out of town.  Before I called this number I went to check the number on Google.   There should be a law against having fraudulent numbers identifying them to the police.  A lot of people do not know about this site were you can look up the phone numbers and start to worry and wonder if something happened to one of their family members.

I am on both State & Federal NO CALL lists for all the good that does.Why can,t the State,US Goverment,Phone Companies put a stop to these calls??

I received a call today from this number...shows up on caller ID as Frat. Order of Police.
I recognized it as a Houston area code. Thought it weird since I do not live in Houston.Also, they knew my name...made me nervous.
A second call came in a couple of minutes later when I spoke briefly to the person on the line and then I hung up.

Recv'd call at 8:41PM.  caller id if FRAT ORD POLICE.  Police organization probably doing fund raising .
Generally bad if they get your name, number, etc.  Will not stop calling to get a 'donation'  Their paid telemarketers are prone to lead you to believe that a 'donation' will get you 'get out of jail free card'.

Ok, if they are non-profit, why are they calling on weekends, holidays, and at night?  And why would they have a bunk recording that either hangs up on you or starts over and over if you speak if they want donations?  To me, it is harrassment and not someone who should have the right to call anytime and however many times they want just because they fall into a certain "category".  I had them call me this morning ON LABOR DAY and I picked up the phone and slammed it back down.  I have no outstanding bad debt or anything in collection either.  It is an annoying scam and I am reporting it just as all of you should be.

That may be the legitimate group, but this is a phone scam/harrassment issue and does not belong to them.  If people are trying to get donations, they would not be hanging up on people or using recordings that say nothing about them and repeat with any audible sound.  Legitimate donations are solicited through the mail or television and even then you have to be careful.  Do not give people any credit card, SSN, address, or full name information over the phone EVER unless you are the one calling a company you are already doing business with.
