I got a call from this today which I didn't answer, they didn't leave a message- but with phone numbers I don't know I tend to check where it is coming from and then use the "block" option on my phone- all they get is a busy number and after a week they stop. It seems to be the only way to stop them from along me everyday.

Got the same calls as above, first from 289-796-0030 then 289-271-0040. There was a list of letters and numbers showing as the display name on the 0040 number. They have called a few times in the last week and once again tonight. I am not answering them now.

some criminal enterprise to steal money or ID. Don't answer the phone.

I got a call from 289-796-0030 and then a short time after from 289-271-0040. First was a scam about seniors (to get credit card info) ....this is likely related. Didn;t bother to pick up with this call. I'm thinking the numbers are rather similar (too similar for chance) and therefore spoofed.

This is a fraud campaign currently active in Canada using a series of Iristel VOIP numbers. The objective is to obtain your credit card number and drain your account.
If you attempt to "opt out" your number will be confirmed as live and added to a suckers list for repeated future calls.

Time for another round of useless phone spam.
As always, when spammers like this call, never answer the phone, it will only make them call you more. If you never answer, they tend to give up in a week or two.

I got a call from this number. I answered, said hello, there was a pause, I heard a beep, and then a voice said thank you for registering your number for a 2500 dollar draw for something. Can't remember exactly what, but I never pushed any buttons.
