They want to break into your computer to steal passwords and financial sites.

Same exact thing as above - hard to understand/foreing accent - told me he was a division of Microsoft and that I had malware issues.  I did a search while on the phone with him and found this website.  I told him about it and he had nothing to say.  I was getting another call and hung up at that point.  Incredibly annoying.

Same as above.  Caller had a strong Indian accent said he was from a company called Cisctron Ph 01291912761. Called back several times wanting to help me fix a problem I  sopposedly had with Windows.  Call kept "dropping out" from my end and he kept calling back and becoming more an more irate.  Eventually he gave up.  Geat fun for a cold and windy Satuday afternoon.  Please call back soon Pete!

I said well it appears you want to "fix" my computer? When I stated I believe they are a scam. they abruptly hung up!

Same story as above.  However i fell for it and lost $249.99 for CISCTRON PERFORMANCE TOOLKIT 2011 for thirty six sessions.  Now my computer is no different and I cannot contact anyone from the company to help me.  BBB doesnt know of this company and i see that i have probably been scammed.  Spread the word .  Not a legit deal.  Dont do it.

Got a call today December 3rd 2011 and pretty much the same story as above. Read a bunch of error codes on my PC. Claimed to be calling all Windows users, wanted $345 for 8 years protection. Scam

Same as other posters, but to my mother, not to me.  She's an older lady with no computer experience and is worried that "they" might have some of her personal information.  "Sam" has called her multiple times trying to get her to buy their plan, and she keeps putting them off or not answering their calls.  They called her 4 times so far today and 3-5 times throughout the week.  I've called today 5+ times and always get voicemail and they'd like me to leave a message.  No, thank you, I will not be leaving a message.  I advised my Mom to answer one more time and tell them to NEVER call again.  Dunno if that will work.

Proported to say she was from Microsoft, wanted to tell me my computer is infected with virus's and malware, they can tell because they have access to my microsoft information and they were there to help me. They ran some event log and showed me how many errors and warnings there were and then said my security layer had expired so my computer is at risk and needed to bring my security layer up to date. I was hesitant at that point. You could hardly understand her, there was lots of echoing and I told her unless she gave me her name/id# and a phone number where she could be reached we didn't need to go any further. She said she would her manager--went through the same thing with him, and when I persisted about Microsoft information he sounded legit, until he said to restore the security layer it would be $600 for 4 years I told him I would check out his name and ID with Microsoft before I did anything--he became very flustered and insisted that they are a division of Microsoft and everything will be just fine. I finally told him I needed to check him out before anything got installed on my computers and I would get back to him if he would give me his name, job ID and number, and phone. He did--James Taylor, Job code 0612. After some research I don't think I will call him back--while they purport to be part of Microsoft they are NOT.

This person named "Ron" has been calling my house... I picked up the phone today, and he rudely spoke in really bad broken English, and was very hard to understand.
He talked about he was from "Cisctron computer maintenance" company and wanted "Ms.Nick" to call him back. I don't know why he could not talk to me, but he wanted to speak to my wife.

My wife called him from her gmail account, calling Canada or the US is free from google, so she did that for about 30 times, the phone number does not work anymore at this moment.
we tried calling them from our house phone as well but they probably have the phone turned off at this moment.
