This is crazy! I am sooo happy I looked this all up! My mom found a letter to my grandma with this inside. They will try to con anyone it seems! My grandma is a 73 year old stroke patient who is bed ridden. She would have easily believed this... Thank you all because now I know I can tell her that it is all a scam..

Got the same junk today. A cheque for $3,750 asking to send $1,350 and $930 through Western Union after I cased the cheque.

"I was born at night just not last night."

Both are in the garbage.

I got a chq too.  $3750.00.  On the royal bank from sun life. The crooks er I mean they want me to send them a western union money transfer of $2280.00 to the Europe (sic)  I will be handing this in to the police fraud division. Or go to Dubai and pick up my winnings. Ya right.

SAME CRITERIA, SAYS THAT I SHOPPED AT ONE OF THEIR NO. AMERICA DEPARTMENT STORES;
WALMART, SAERS, COSTCO, HD, OD, STATPLES, WALGREENS BB, K-MART, ETC.

I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS A DREAM COME TRUE BECAUSE I NEVER WIN ANYTHING UNTLI THYE ASKED ME TO SEND THEM $$$.
IF I WON THAT MUCH $$$ THEN DEDUCT "THE TAXES" /SEND ME THE DIFFERENCE!

Got a check and letter today from the National Lottery to call the number and send them western union $$ transfer.

I got a check for $3,750.00 on Chase Bank from Switchcraft Inc.

I got the same letter as Daryl and Lloyd.  A different company was listed as payee on the check, Resilite Sports Products Inc. I notified Resilite. All was otherwise pretty much the same as described by the other two comments. Officers should hunt down this "Tony Steven" and bring him to justice.  Some poor old lady/man could easily be fooled by this guy!

Yesterday, I received the same letter and check with the telephone number 1-289-807-0011. I live in Texas, so, yes, the scammers are now in our neighborhood! Can something be done to stop these scammers? They are getting bold everyday that they even give their contact person?s name, e-mail, phone number, (office) address, etc.

I've just received a letter and a check stating the same thing that 'Daryl' has just said. This time around though, it's in conjunction with Towneplace Cleveland Westlake North America. I just simply goggled it, and it gave me TownePlace Suites Cleveland Westlake located in 25052 Sperry Drive Westlake, OH 44145 USA -- a hotel in a residential-style and not a grand office to disperse million of dollars. By the way, this is the same address printed in the letter head that "these people" are using as their "official office address.?

What really alarms me is when payments are to be made through Western Union Money transfer and Money Gram in two payments!

I think something should be done to stop these scammers. They are getting bold everyday that they even give their contact person?s name, e-mail, phone number, (office) address, etc.

Received check for $3,750.00 on Chase Bank from Switchcraft Inc., a Chicago, IL company.  Letter accompanying check from THE NATIONAL LOTTERY (in conjunction with Switchcraft Inc. North America.) informing of prize notification of $135,000.00 which was part of a $2.4 million shared among lucky winners in North America and the United Kingdom.

A fraudelant check with the telephone number of 289-807-0011 was received.  The ?National Lottery? asked the person to then send money via Western Union (cash only) to pay taxes.  
It would take at least 4 weeks before the bank would find the check was a fraud.  No police report was issued- due to the intelligent citizen not sending money.  
Remember, if it seems too good to be true- IT ISN"T!  
This fraud occurs every day throughout the world.
