Received a call from 289-813-4318 on December 16, 2011 at 9:29am. The caller said her name is "Doreen" and they had been calling in my area to do a "Grocery Shopping Comparison Survey".
When I said I didn't want to participate in their survey she seemed extremely surprised, but at the same time ready to hang up. I quickly asked to be removed from their phone list and she said "sure" and then hung up.
They should not have me on their phone list as I have been on the "Do Not Call List" for years. I check every now and again to ensure the five year time line for the list has not expired and it has not. Yet I continually receive unwanted phone calls from various "So Called" companies.

Found it. It's Iristel Inc., originating out of Oakville, ON. I would imagine they want you to sign up for something. They also own some iPhone apps, which is how they got my home phone number, I suppose.

Got a call last night. Woman wanted to do a "Grocery Comparison" when I asked what does that mean ( a survey) she said "Never mind and hung up". Must be a scam.

Just got the call today. When I asked who the company was, the woman replied, "it's okay" and then hung up. She's lucky that she didn't wake my baby!

Does the "Do Not Call" list mean anything in Ontario? Why do we even have it? What can we do when companies ignore this list?

Received a call from "Tammy" at 9:07am claiming to be doing a "grocery shopping comparison". Tammy asked if "Are you the shopper?". When I asked what a grocery shopping comparison was, she hung up on me. My number's already on the CRTC do not call list. Have fun with the feds Tammy.

They started off by saying it was a grocery survey but about 5 or 6 questions in it turned into a sales pitch for a grocer who claims to be local, natural grain fed, etc. I was actually kind of interested but out of the blue the caller sunddenly said that I didn;t sound interested and that she would put me on their Do No Call list (which I should already be on!) and then she hung up when I was asking for the name of the company.
