I got 4 calls from 290-347-8927 in an hour today. I picked up the last time but noone answered me. I called the # back but only got a phone company message that the # wasn't valid. Please block this caller.

On 9/17/2011, more than 10 calls from 290-347-8927 were received within 12 hours. I answered one about 10 minutes ago. Situation was similar to "annoyed'" at 8:45pm yesterday. I answered; no one responded. I hung up. Someone called about 10 seconds later. Talked to the caller. He may be the same one that "barb" talked to. A male who speaks foreign English.

I have gotten calls from this number nonstop all day. One time I answered and the guy said something about an application I filled out about a cash advance. I told him I didn't and to take me off his list. When I answered another time it was just beeping noises.

I also received a call from a 712 number and when someone came on the line it was the same guy saying something about the car loan I applied for was approved. I told him I didn't apply for a car loan and then he hung up.

They are scammers!!

Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru.
But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies.

It is amazing that such a crooked practice is allowed to go on!
Where are the feds when I need them????? I wrote to my US Rep...no response!

Bottom line: IGNORE IT and never give the other side ANY information. PERIOD!

On Satuday 9-17-11 I received 4 calls in 4 hours time.  I answered only 1 call and it was a man who could not speak good english.  I could not understand him at all. I told him to not call me again.

I been receiving calls during the whole day from differents numbers, I been getting this calls since the firsts days of the month but not that much, since yesterday these calls persist

I received five calls from this number in the past two hours, it starting at 7:30am on a Saturday morning.  I haven't answered because I don't recognize the number, but ever since I posted my resume on Career Builder, calls like these to my cell phone are frequent.

I got 10 calls saying that I took out a loan and never paid them back and now I need to pay right away I don't have any loans I didn't back .He identified himself as my DECEASED husband.

I got 5 calls from this number within 30 minutes. I did not answer any of the calls as I did not recognize the number.

I just got one also!  On my cell phone!  Then I called the number back from a landline and got some guy with a 304 area code, which is the same area code I have!  Weird!

The same thing is happening to me. I get a call from multiple numbers and no one says anything. I have had at least 5 calls in the past 2 hours and I just received one at 10:24 pm.

Addendum:
They called me again at 9:11pm. This time, there were some beeps and then a man with a thick Indian accent came on the line and identified himself as "Victor Jones." He started trying to tell me about how his company could provide a "cash advance". I told him to remove my number from his list, to which he babbled some sort of reply and continued on about a "cash advance". I told him again to remove my number from his list and hung up.

Got a call from 290-247-8927 on 9/16/11 at 8:45pm. I answered, no one responded, and whoever it was ended the call about 10 seconds later. Less than a minute after that, I received a call from 338-691-2053. Same thing: no response, hung up after 10 seconds.

Idiots.
