Called and said they were connected with United Illuminating.  I said party was not at home.  I should have not even picked up call.

Scams don't answer theses calls. They hire felons and criminals to scan you. They are  very unprofessional people

There are plenty of legit 3rd party energy companies out there (i rep for one) who aren't allowed to cold call, I would never go with one that randomly called or showed up at my door.

We have gotten multiple calls from Startel LLC and don't answer them. Looks as if that is a good idea!

I just got a call from this number, they said the same thing that they wanted to give me 15% off on my SMECO bill.  I asked why something like this wasn't sent in writing and she got an attitude saying "Because we're a green company, it's not like we ask for your social security number or anything."  I don't think people who genuinely want to sell you something act defensive immediately and give some bs answer.

Same experience as above. Second phone call this week. I asked to be taken off their call list. Unsolicited call.

the person who called said they were working with PEPCO but kept tying to get my information(which PEPCO already has).  She was very persistent, got her off the phone to check it out.  Thank you to everyone who has posted about this scam.

Someone consistently call from this reported number. When we answer, there is no response.   When we try to call the number, it ring once and then go silent.

Just had a similar experience:  caller said my next Pepco generation bill would be lower because of....  Caller ID said Startel, number 301-262-7741.   said he was calling on behalf of Starion.  Wanted me to verify my address, etc.   He tried to avoid admitting that he was trying to "sell" me on changing my supplier.   Got huffy when I told him his approached "sucks" and I would never do business with someone like that over the phone, when I have to first verify personal info before he'll tell me what the call is really about.

It's Startel, LLC.  It's a robo-dialer and then, if you answer and wait, a rep picks up and asks about your electric bill.  I told her I'm on the Do Not Call Registry. She hung up.

I got several calls from this number claiming that I owed a bill. When I informed them that my electric was included in my rent, the woman hung up abruptly.

just dead air left in my voice mail.  Called back and phone disconnected.

This number continues to call my house. They do not leave messages.

A harrassing woman called my business line, demanded to speak to my 'supervisor' and got nasty when I told her that it was a remote line for a Fortune 10 company! What arrogance, Startel needs to train their sales employees restraint and courtesy, I wonder if the Power Companies know how they are harrassing potential customers?!

This is the 3rd time the same company has called me .. why isn't there any way to make these calls stop?

Said they were calling on behalf of BGE to let me know that my electric bill was going to be lowered.  When I started to question the validity of the call, the jerk hung up on me!

Just got a call but left no message so I checked # on Google it led me to here.  I hope it helps to keep reporting these calls but probably won't.

Received call & hang-up from 301-262-7741 on Mon March 4 at 11:43am.  I'm on do-not-call list.  Illegal & beyond rude.

I received a call from this number wanting to verify my utility bill so they could lower it.  When I said, "How do I know you're representing BGE?" they hung up.

My caller ID for this number says "The Gabriel Pro" !!!  Guess they're chaning their name since the other one didn't seem to be working for them.  Left no message and when I called back (three times) it rang once and then went to "busy."  Just another in a looooooooooong line of these kinds of calls.  How about the diabetic supply people and the ones who want to "fix" your computer?

I just received a call from this number. On my voice mail, a female said "Hello?"and then nothing else. I am on do not call as well.
