Had anyone reported this to the CDC?

I got a call an hour from the CDC and its annoying and there's no point for this. I didn't do nothing and I don't know why they have to call us. It's worthless.

I continue to get phone calls from 301-309-0046. They say they are from the CDC. I have asked kindly 4 times to be removed from their calling list & my number is on the national do not call list. I even called them spoke to a supervisor & was told that I would be removed, she lied!!! I thought about going on my verizon & putting that number on my block list until I seem comments by someone saying they started talking to these people calling about random things just to hold them up & annoy them, so... I've decided that next time they call & any future times they call I'm going to try to tell them about Yeshua/Jesus or just play some Jesus Culture over the phone for them. Everyone needs Yeshua!!! I seen where some people say that when people call & harass them after asking to be removed, they say every cuss word they can think of or sound their horn in their ear. I think that is wrong! No matter what people do to you it is never the right thing to do the wrong thing. Does anyone anymore live by standards such as "you catch more flies with honey then vinegar?" In my life I have seen it proven time & time again that being "truly nice" to someone that is hateful or annoying will make the true meany's go away & change the others. I also think people should treat others the way they want to be treated, no one wants to continuously be harassed by the CDC, government companies, telemarketers or any other survey company. These guys called me claiming the same thing. CDC Study 3013090046.
Just a survey from a federal agency. CDC- aka center for disease control. They wanted to know how many people in the house was over 18. Then, they also wanted to know the name of one of the others in the house over 18. I said excuse you should never ask for a name on a survey. CDC my butt! I said ok how about  Mary" making it up. She said no we have to have real names and I am needing to speak to one of the others in the household not you. I said WHY? I am 18. She said because that is what her computer says she has to ask for the "other one".  Because, when she calls back they need to know who to contact. Really? A Survey? Have they ever heard of Hippa laws? This has to be a SCAM.

This number called today and left a message on the answering machine then proceeded to put my call through to a queue which played music. Idiots. The two people posting before me stated that this call is legit and from the CDC. Why in the world would they call on SUNDAY? I did report this to the DoNotCall.gov site though. I hope they get enough complaints that they shut this "program" down. It's stupid and a waste of tax payer dollars and a nuisance to those who they choose to call. I really hate that the government is becoming what it is. But it's our fault, though not mine.. I didn't vote that way. So those of us who are smart enough to see behind this magicians curtain are still forced to deal with the changes and the stupid decisions of the administration.

Kristin ~ TY for the explanation. Despite your info about the CDC being a legitimate agency, they called me Sunday evening. My tax dollars at work? (weekend = premium pay) I told the woman that Sunday is my day of worship and rest. She asked if she can call back another time. I told her I have no interest in participating.  Facts about the effects of smoking are available from medical (doctor, hospital, and health care) reports and statistics.

I contacted the CDC and gave them the number 301-309-0046 and info and was told that it's for real.
Nice to see our Tax money being wasted.

I contacted the CDC via the gov't website.  It is a legit caller.  I received this email in response:

I f****ng hate these guys...

They just called me 2 minutes ago, and said they same thing their telling everyone else and asked me if i had 2 minutes then asked me if i had 15 minutes to complete a survey i just hung up

...aaaaand here we are on May 24th, and the morons at Westat are continuing to call daily, sometimes more than once per day. Had another terse conversation with a perky female who promised to "pass our number along to the person in charge" who can supposedly stop the calls. She seemed fixated on determining whether I had actually gone through the ENTIRE survey already, with the clear implication that if I hadn't, then it wasn't THEIR fault if we continued to get their calls.

This is the third call I have received from this number.  The first time they left a vm saying they were from the CDC.  I deleted the vm.  Last night they called, but didn't leave a message.  Same thing tonight.

Yep, they keep calling and leave no message. Got find a way to stop them. Guess I'll use the "easy Button"

Have been receiving hang-up calls (on the answering machine) from this number every evening for the past week or two at least. Finally got a call from them while I was home, and found a live person on the other end.

They said that the DoNotCall list (which we're on) doesn't pertain because they're doing a survey on health for the CDC, as stated by others here, and not selling something. Caller finally said he was from Westat in Rockville Maryland (http://www.westat.com/about_us/contact.cfm), and we could opt out of future calls by calling (888) 878-0494.

Just called my cell phone, said they were the CDC, I told them to take me off their list and I hung up. Why do I doubt that the CDC would call me on my Do Not Call listed cell????

Calls are coming to my cell phone several times a day.  They say they are doing a survey on behalf of the the CDC on selected cell phone users and smoking.  I have told them to stop calling but they keep calling.
Would like to know how they got my cell #.
Told the last caller to go to hell!

Got 3 calls this week ALL around 830, they're really pushing the legal time limit on cold calling (9pm). I'm also on the DO NOT CALL LIST. This is NOT the CDC, people, just some telemarketers. I told them to stop calling and take me off the list because I was fed up with the late night calls. The lady replied, "I'm sorry I can't do that it's an automatic machine that calls random numbers". Really? So she basically refused my request. I then replied to that saying "So you're basically going to keep calling me until I do this survey". She smugly replied that pretty much until this automatic machine hits its "limit". Disgraceful, these people. I'm filing a complaint.

AGAIN this CDC number called me.  I am so sick of these charges to my phone.  I have called the service number and complained and said I did not want to be called but still they call.  The guy tonight ewas rude and threatening..asking me if I knew he was from a GOVERNMENT agency.  Then when I called the customer service number it went to a 411 number that charges me.  Enough.  Anybody gotten away from this mess?

I am getting calls from this number also,  one or two a day.  No message.  I have told them I do not want to do a survey and I am on the do not call list.  How are they getting my cell phone?  I almost never give it out. I called back again and got an tired and elderly sounding woman.  She said she would remove my number.  Did not want to be mean to her...I am sure she needs her job too.  Hope it works.  If not,  Class Action anyone?

I have been getting these people almost twice every day and it is getting so annoying! I want it to stop. They never leave messages although sometimes they do. It doesn't stop.

I get continuous calls from them. The message they leave is that they are the CDC doing a survey. They are relentless.

Is this a legit survey?

This has to be suspicious!  Got a voicemail this evening on non-published landline and NOT a cell phone.  Same story about the CDC, ,tobacco survey related to cell phones and that they would call back.  Plus no one here has ever smoked tobacco.  The woman had a deep Atlanta sounding accent.  The real CDC  is supposedly located in Georgia, but this number traces back to MD.  Our BB has reported a similar situation in the recent past with telemarketers misidentifying themselves as Social Security employees to attempt to steal peoples 'information by telephone.  BB said federal agency staff DO NOT call people over the phone and solicit information.  Just had a terrible first time experience after a grocery chain's database was hacked and debit and credit card numbers were stolen and used all over US and even in China!  Certainly will not talk to these people because I have had enough of criminals.

Received phone call from the same number. I told them to stop calling me PERIOD!!

Hi!  We have been getting several calls a day.  My son started answering some of the questions that had to do with smoking.  When they got off topic he told them that he did not want to continue and not to call back.  They still have been calling and calling.  When I told the caller to stop calling and please take me off the list, she told me to call a 800 or a 888 number and request to be taken off the list.  Nobody answered those numbers that she gave me.   I called back the phone number on the caller ID and a pleasant woman answered the phone and told me that they are not the CDC that they are a company that does studies.  I told her that we were being harassed and if they don't stop calling,  I will call the police.  Hopefully, this works.  She said that she will take us off the list.

They keep on calling my phone so  many times .  It is so disgusting. They even call at night around 9 pm. They even call on Saturday and Sunday.  I am going to report to the DO NOT CALL . I wish it will make them to stop calling.
