received a call from this number asking for employment information. he already had all the information. he wanted verification. said he was from IBM

I just got a call from the number, and a man with heavy indian accent is asking for a colleague I have never heard of. he said that he was from IBM.  No idea what the hell he was after!

A woman from this number 301-392-8200 stating that she was calling from IBM called our place of employment inquiring information of one of our employees. When asked to send a fax she hung up. I have tried to called the number back, but the operator states it's a none working number.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION.

Caller began to ask me many questiona about the office (address, IT manager, the  he wanted to know about our HR Manager).   He wanted to know specific answers about our manager.  I gave him nothing and he kept insisting.  I asked to be removed from his calling list.

Another call, and the voicemail message was just a noisy hang-up.

Received a call from this number 301-392-8200. Said they were calling form IBM and wanted to verify an address and info.  

This has to be fraudulent activity.

Rude caller stated calling from IBM; however, caller ID stated "Carlson".  Wanted to verify address and then abruptly hung up!!!

Someone from this number called my place of employment and asked for information on me. When our HR Coordinator advised that all employment verification requests must be sent via fax, the caller said he did not have that option and hung up. I tried calling the number that showed on her caller ID: 301.392.8200 and was advised by an automated message that the call did not go through and asked to please try again later.

Caller claimed to be IBM, but caller ID said "Carlson"

I got a couple of missed calls from this number. Tried ringing back but it wouldn't get connected.

Said a company name like IBM however as I have never bought anything from them I questioned the company, the again asked for the company as his access was so strong. Another surprise, he then hung up

the same thing happened to me today. I didn't pick up though. I googled the numbers and your post came up.

Just got a call from 301-392-8200.  The man had such a heavy Indian accent I could not understand where he said he was calling from.  He wanted to verify our company mailing address.  He had an old PO Box, so I gave him the correct one.  He then asked for someone by name, that I could not understand at all, so I hung up on him.  About a minute later, my phone rings again.  Same Indian man, but this time the caller ID reads 646-885-0146.  I don't know whats up with this, but seems fishy to me.

I just received a call from 1-301-392-8200 and he was asking about a company address from my previous Job. Can you belive that. He hanged up after asked the propose of the call

Just received a call from this number.  Caller said they were calling from IBM and wanted to verify our address.  The address he had was our old address (over three years old).  I questioned him why he needed this information (since we no longer had any IBM equipment).  He said to update their database. I continued questioning him.  He did finally ask for an employee by name and wanted to know if he still worked here.  Although I suggested he may want to remove our company from the database, he still wanted the information.  He finally gave up and said something like have a nice day.

Not sure if this was legit or not, but I too tried calling the number back and just got a fast busy.

Same thing happened to me.  Who are these people?
