keep getting calls from these people saying that they are going serve papers at my home or work for fraud. They are scammers. just hang up and don't worry about it.

So sick of these calls!  Numbers today were 301 500 2020 and 302 861 5032.  Same recording as when I was bombarded in Dec and Jan.  I paid the payday loan back - twice.  First time was legit but I didn't have a record of it.  Second time was a scam (found out afterwards) but I paid it and have my paid in full letter with the account number on it.  SICK OF THIS!!!

You can call the Banking Commission & they will stop it.

Received a call from this number yesterday and a different number today for the same reason.  Saying he received a fax concerning a civil complaint filed against me and I can resolve the problem before it goes to court.  They have called from AL,DE,IN this has been going on since November getting sick of it!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

They contacted me as well about a debt that I supposedly had with a "payday" loan company.  Payday loans are illegal in the state that I live in, and I have always lived in this state.  I do not and have, and have never had a payday loan.  Our Governor has actually been involved in trying to get this resolved. He sent a letter to me telling me what actions he was taking and what I should do if I should be harassed by this, or any other company, like this again.    

This number keeps calling.

Just rec'd a call from Amy Hoffer - Call 301-500-2020 Case# GH5387.  The guy who answered asked me for my phone number, I told him he should know who is scamming and then hung up.
Our office gets 100 of these stupid ROBO calls per week, do they know how much of my valuable time they waste?  You would think our government would make these illegal......they want to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong, maybe they should try doing something that would be beneficial.

Thank you for your post. I have dealing with this for over 5 years from hundreds of numbers all over the country, out of the country, and sometimes numbers like 0000000000 tying up my work lines for hours. I have reported in to local authorities and all the places listed below. You cannot block the numbers because they call from new ones. There is really nothing that can be done. I just ignore it now.

It's a scam - do not reply OR call them back and tell them you've reported them!  Usually, I don't take a chance on calling anyone back as you could get a charge just for making the call, but I think I'm going to take that chance as I am SO sick of them calling!

Got a call from this number and they left a message saying that there are 2 charges of fraudulent activity being brought against me and that I needed to call this number (301) 500-2020 and ask for their Legal Department before a summons for my arrest will be brought to my job or house.  They left a Case # of QJ3611.  I have no idea what this is. What do I need to do?

just got a call from this number. they said they will have papers served to my home or place of employment. if they were legit, (i know this from calling the police a couple times for threats) they said if these are legit, they won't call. they will just have the papers served.

This is my second set of recordings. The first set was out of Florida, then now out of Maryland. There should be some way of stopping these harassing phone calls, especially since it is a company phone that they are calling me on !

These are scam artists trying to get you to pay money for accounts you dont have or they will file charges against you...... Its bullsh*t, legitimate debt collectors do not act so rudely nor make threats such as these people do this is the 3rd number these people have called me from, all from different states but with the same recording

I don't know but I got a call from them on March 25th also.
