I must receive 3-4 calls a week from the Vehicle Proccessing Center wanting to sell me an extended warranty on a 2006 Dodge Caravan, which I repeatedly have told them we no longer own!
Today, the woman wanted to know what we do own and I told her it was none of her businesses.

Got a call today from 301-576-3390. Was away from my phone when it came in. Took me one second to look at it there on the screen and another second to delete it. Then, I figured I'd come here and spend ten minutes typing an entire paragraph expressing my outrage at this utterly untenable violation of all that I hold dear.

Jeez, people...get a grip. No one killed your puppy.

Do what I do when I know for sure that an unsolicited call comes in: pick up the phone and start speaking in a foreign language. I used to work at a major DC area airport so when a charity call came through I answered by (trying to) repeat a paging phrase used by Korean Airlines. I never heard back from these people.

Even though my cell phone is on the "Do Not Call" list, this company continues to call.  They've called perhaps 6-8 times in the last month.  When I answer the phone, the woman on the other end has a strong Hispanic accent and is very difficult to understand.  So I tell her "Wrong number, and do not call again!"  But they continue to call.  I have filed a complaint with the FCC but to no avail.  We got rid of our landline because of telemarketers, but I won't be forced to do so with my cell phone!  I guess I should "wise up" and not answer when this number appears.

Yeah, They called me this morning at about 10:59 and also told me they were from the Vehicle Processing Department. he asked me for the mileage on my Chevy (so no, they are not part of Honda). I replied that I didn't remember off the top of my head, and he asked me if I would go and look it up, and that he would wait for me (yeah, it's ****ing cold out and I still have no idea who you are). When I asked if I could call him back he said that it was an outgoing call center only (really? Why wouldn't you have a reachable number in case people had further questions or concerns?) and said he would call me back later. If he does I intend to give him or his manager a piece of my mind.

Wants to sell an extended warranty on Honda cars, claiming to be "authorized to write extended warranties on American Honda vehicles" when presenting as American Honda, and after being asked if they were indeed American Honda. Never gave an exact name.

Would be happy to let me inspect the contract details after they were mailed, and after I picked a lump sum payment of $3600.00 or payments.

Sad, but hysterical.

Caller ID name was 'Not Available" pretty much says what most need to know since other replies indicate it's an unwanted telemarketer.. don't you think?

I totally agree with you.  What we do is simply turn the ringer off on the phone in the room that we are in and let the answering machine take it. That way it rings in other parts of the house which we can hear but not where we
are trying to watch football or racing or one of our evening programs. Since the answering machine is on the phone that we have in our office, it takes care of the noise problem.  I do not list my numbers on the 'National Do Not Call' list - all telemarketers are suppose to compare their lists against that list and remove any numbers that match - all it does is confirm that your numbers are good and you get more spam!

A call came in at10:48 am from 301-576-3390. I answered and they asked for my husband. I said he's not home right now could I take a message and he hung up. I called back and got a recording saying the office was closed and I needed to call back during business hours of 7 am to 4pm pacific time.  It was almost 8:00 am pacific time and this is a Maryland area code. Don't know what they wanted but I won't be answering that again.

Rang once, blocked by Nomorobo as illegal robocall. From previous calls this is a telemarketer from Vehicle Processing, a shady vehicle service contract seller that targets owners of vehicles whose factory warranties have or are about to expire.  They claim to be selling an "extended warranty" but only the vehicle manufacturer can do that.  What they do sell is a sort of vehicle repair coverage policy with so many loopholes that they only rarely actually pay for repairs.  All major consumer advocate groups tell you to steer clear of these type of policies since you are just throwing your money away.

I received a call from them today at 3:30EST.  They asked for me by name and said it was in regards to my car which they had the specific make and model for.  They wanted to let me know that my limited manufacturer warranty had expired (really?  since I bought it used I think I already know that), and were trying to give me an opportunity to in which to purchase a new warranty.  I told her no thanks, I had already purchased an extended warranty through the dealership when I purchase my car, and to please never call again.  Not only were they calling me from 301-576-3390 (which is a local number for me), they have also been calling from 720-457-6773.  they call several times a day and it is annoying as I can only block so many numbers and they know it.

I placed a block on this number.

Call is obviously a scam.
Received a call from 301-776-3390.  Took several seconds before they picked up after I answered. Women told me that the warranty on my car had expired and wanted to know if I wanted to ensure my car was covered.  She identified that she was with "Vehicle Processing Department". She started asking questions.  I asked for the name of her company.  She repeated that the company's name was  "Vehicle Processing Department".    I asked if they were part of Honda, and she said yes.  She would not provide me with a phone number or company address.  She did say the phone number was on my Caller ID, which is was.  (The area code was local)   She transferred me to a supervisor, who also refused to provide me information on the identify of their company.  He asked if I was interested in obtaining warranty coverage on my car and offered to connect me to a salesman.  I told him I wanted to make sure I was talking to a legitimate company.  He hung up on me.  -- I knew this was a scam almost immediately after picking up the phone.  I believe that the best way to fight these scam is to waste their time, hopefully diminishing their income and driving them out.

Just an additional note re: my comment regarding this caller.  The caller NEVER left any info, and like previous people submitting comments, IF it is not a familiar #, we let it go to the answering machine.  We are tired of the unsolicited phone calls--what good does it to be on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, AS WELL AS PAY FOR AN UNLISTED, UNPUBLISHED PHONE NUMBER?!  If we could, we would have NO phone.  There is no such thing as a peaceful day or evening--THESE PEOPLE NEED A LIFE.

Received this call @ 12:45 on Oct 22--no message.  Our phone only allows 20 blocked calls and between the solicitation and the political games, it fills quickly.  We pay for an UNLISTED, UNPUBLISHED number and this is getting really old.

Caller id said Chevy Chase, MD, which is a local call to me, so I answered.  It was a nice sounding little old lady type trying to sell an extended car warranty.  Presumably they bought the records from the DMV because they knew the make and model of my car and could tell the manufacturer's warranty had expired from the car's age.

Next time if she calls again, I'm going to ask her what a nice sounding little old lady is doing violating the law and that she should be ashamed of herself.

Claimed to be a "vehicle procesin center" for policies for my make and model of car. I suspect they wanted to sell me a

I just received a call from 301-576-3390.  i don't normally answer calls with caller id of unknown but waiting for an important call so I decided to answer it.  The answering machine picked up at the same time so i let the outgoing message finish before i said hello.  They hung up.
I checked out the number on the web and didn't really get much info, other than it was a landline in montgomery co md  (silver spring or there abouts).
I called number back and a live person answered. I asked name of company which the lady responded "Vehicle processing" and she said they were trying to reach my husbands name. i guess they have caller id as well.

This number appeared on my Caller ID today, July 22nd 2013 around 12:15 P.M. this afternoon. My Caller ID only showed the phone number, with no name attached to that phone number. It went straight to my voice mail as I let all calls that I don't reconize go to my voice mail. Apparently, they know my name, as they said my name on my voice mail, like I don't know who I am ???????, but they failed to indentify themselves or state the nature of there call. I don't answer my phone unless I know who is calling, so this type of call that I recieved today, indicates 1 thing to me, that it's either a telemarketer or a scammer.
