The faxes you are being sent are notifications of a CHARGEBACK. If they are going to your cell phone then that means your merchant service provider needs to update your fax number. You will have to call them to have this change. The faxes are sent by computer and therefore cannot tell if it is a cell or fax.

Again, CALL YOUR MERCHANT SERVICE PROVIDER TO HAVE YOUR FAX NUMBER UPDATED.

I had these guys call me as well at 5AM since I'm in California. Seems like someone did a chargeback and my cell phone was put in as a fax number as a default. Sage Payment Solutions had to get in touch with Merlin (the chargeback people calling me at 5am) to resolve.

My company was repeatedly called by what I believe to be fax bots from "Sage Payment Solutions" with the numbers below:

240-436-6130
240-436-6132
240-436-6133
240-436-6134
240-436-6135
240-436-6140
240-436-6141
240-436-6143

My company number is a voice number that is not listed anywhere, other than with my credit card processing agent, and with Visa, Discover and Mastercard. I am not sure why Sage Payment Solutions is trying to contact me, as I have never contacted them in the past.

I called Sage Payment's customer service, and they couldn't provide me with any explanation for the calls I received.

Lastly, Sage Payment Solutions appears to be quite a questionable company according to some information I found online. Check out this indictment against Sage Payment Solutions in Florida for bank fraud: http://bit.ly/8YDsCu

So that fraud case you linked to? Sage isn't being indicted. They simply provided the terminal that was used in the defendants' restaurant. That's like calling Buick fishy because some guy drove one into a schoolyard. They could've gotten that terminal from any number of ISOs, MSPs, processors, etc. This one just happened to be from Sage.

All I'm saying is is that if anyone here has a merchant account or agreement with a VAR or payment processor, you very well may be in Sage's network and not even know it. As the old saying goes, don't hate the player, hate the game. The payment industry is filled with these types of business relationships that easily go unnoticed. My suggestion would be to call whomever you setup your merchant account with or purchased your payment application from. The road very well could lead legitimately back to Sage.

I got this email from them with a their number on it. I think they might be hooked up with Northern Leasing and Radius Financial. Seems like they're all one interlinked scam company.

Dear Valued Merchant:

A recent attempt to contact you with an email from Trustwave, our PCI-DSS certification partner, failed to generate a response. This is a follow up email to request your action on the above-noted topic. (If you have already completed/passed your PCI-DSS certification and also passed the PA-DSS portion (which confirms you are using a compliant payment application), you may ignore this email.)

In accordance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) regulations, annual Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) certification is required by all merchants in order to continue processing credit card transactions.  In addition, Visa has mandated that all processors (including Sage Payment Solutions) must ensure merchants that are storing, processing or transmitting credit card transactions/data via a software product are using a Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) certified compliant application by July 1, 2010.

You have been or will be assessed a $50 PCI certification fee on your statement to cover expenses related to this annual requirement. Truswave's PCI Wizard will guide you through the PCI-DSS certification process. To activate your pre-registered account, please visit https://sagepayments.pci.trustwave.com and click Get Started. Please note that PCI-DSS Certification is required by Sage Payment Solutions by July 1, 2010 in order to prevent a monthly non-compliance fee of $15 beginning in your July statement period.

If you have already created your account with Trustwave, simply visit https://login.trustwave.com to continue your compliance efforts.  If however you completed/passed your PCI-DSS certification and however have failed the PA-DSS portion, you must take action to upgrade your payment application to a compliant version. Please visit the following site for information on compliant payment applications: https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/security_standards/vpa/

NOTE: You may be using an application that integrates with a compliant payment application (i.e. Peachtree Accounting 2011 with Sage Exchange). If so, the application integrated with the PA-DSS compliant application will not be listed on the above website. To confirm if your application is compliant you may contact us at pcicompliance@sagepayments.com.

Thank you for your attention to this time-sensitive matter. For questions regarding the program and your compliance requirements, please call 800-261-0240 and ask to speak to a Compliance representative.  If you have any questions regarding the Trustwave Portal or the PCI process, you may contact Trustwave at 877-841-7014. You may also contact us via email at pcicompliance@sagepayments.com.

We appreciate your business and thank you for taking the appropriate steps to become compliant as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Sage Payment Solutions
Compliance Group

Received (9) unsolicited faxes within 48 hours to my toll free fax number.  This seems to be a fraudulent practice as the 301-631-6717 fax number actually has a sender # of 240-436-6141 and 240-436-6136.
The faxes are from 'Compass Bank' regarding 'The Little Gym in Marietta, GA.'  Without a question, a business with which I have never been involved and located on the other side of the country where I reside.
